Double checking to make sure I have accurate, up-to-date information, I walk back toward him, then realize that my insurance is out of date. My steps slow and my heart sinks as I try to remember if I have my insurance set to monthly autopay or if I’m supposed to pay it manually, but my mind goes blank and I can’t remember.

“Let me guess, you can't find your proof of insurance?” His dry statement has me looking up at him in shock.

In my mind, I'm puzzling through what might have happened. I know that I was planning on moving everything digital instead, but I hadn’t done so yet. The insurance agent I work through had been recommended by my dad, and the guy is as old school as him. Why can’t I think clearly?

“Well?” His question earns him a glare.

“I think my insurance is out of date.” I walk over and hand him the card. He glances down at it and then back up at me.

“It's good until the end of May.”

I nod my head, well aware that it’s June first. “Like I said, it's out of date.” I

Rico comes and stands far too close for comfort and I cross my arms, watching him with an air of nonchalance. I don't really want to fight a friend, but I have a feeling I don't get a choice how this is going to happen. So with that in mind, I'm simply ready for whatever happens next. “What's going on here?” Hunter's voice doesn't even draw Rico's attention away from me. “None of your business.” Hunter shrugs his shoulders. “In my experience, when people say things like that it’s because they know they're in the wrong and they don't feel like explaining themselves. I get a feeling what's going on here.” But with those words spoken, Hunter leans against the bar. “Oh, shut the hell up, Hunter.” Rico seems annoyed more than angry. Hunter grins. “See, now I know that you know you're in the wrong. Otherwise, you'd love to explain to me why you're right in great detail, and that I’d stop listening to almost immediately.” He ends the words with a chuckle, and I know he’s attempting to

Arson I'm not used to second guessing myself, but I can't help but wonder if sending flowers was the wrong way to thank Laurel. The woman has been monopolizing my thoughts since the appointment, and no matter how much I think about it, I can't figure out why. Sure, she's sexy as hell and I'm interested in doing everything to her body. That doesn't mean she should be dominating my every waking moment. Rico slaps the bar and sits down next to me. If the aggressive gesture wasn't enough to let me know where his thoughts are, then the angry silence as he orders a drink from the bartender leaves no doubt. I'm not uncomfortable with silence. I pick up my tumbler and take a drink of whiskey, still trying to push Laurel out of my thoughts. “It took a lot of work to build this place into what it is today.” I sense his glaring side eye, but don't bother to meet his stare. I have no interest in fighting with him today or any day, for that matter. “I'm sure it did.” While I can understand

Turning the card over, I carefully tear the envelope and reach in to pull out the paper within. Scrolled on the front of the white card are the words Thank You in a black, minimalistic design I instantly love. Still unsure who might have sent the arrangement, I open up the card, hoping it holds all the answers. Inside is a tight, dark, heavy handwriting that instantly commands my attention. *Thank you for your attention and care. Cordially yours, Arson Black* “Who are they from?” Angie’s voice surprises me, and I lower the card as if I've been caught in the act. “The emergency appointment from yesterday.” Her eyebrows shoot up and the corners of her lips curve upward. “Arson? He seemed like a nice man.” She pretends to focus on something in front of her, turning side to side slightly in her swivel desk chair. “Cute too.” “Agreed.” Uncomfortable, I angle my body toward the front door. “Anyway, everything's done, so I'm about ready to head out. Do you need anything?” Angie sha

Laurel I can't stop thinking about the bulge in the front of his pants as I worked on his mouth. Sure, I did struggle with the concern that maybe dental pain feels good to him because, what kind of psychotic individual has that kind of reaction to a toothache? I think I've never had a patient get an erection with me poking around in their mouth, thank goodness. But given that he seemed to retreat into himself, I had a feeling he was fantasizing about something... or someone. I don't really want to think about him fantasizing about another woman with me working on his mouth. Not that it's any of my business who he fantasizes about. Of course, I'm not sure why I'm thinking about him at all. I fixed his tooth yesterday. I'm not going to see him again. “Laurel?” Angie says my name as if she has said it several times already, and I blink, shake my head, and glance at her with a smile that I hope seems genuine. “Sorry, I was off in la la land. What did you need?” I've had a feeling t

She nods in response, but that’s not good enough. “I want you to tell me what you want me to do to you.” I whisper the words in her ear and feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. She lifts her chin as if into a battle position, but she grabs the hem of her shirt and pulls it up over her head. Standing behind her, I see the absence of a bra strap across her back and know she isn't wearing one. The urge to pull her in close into a hug and touch her is almost overwhelming, but I manage to keep my hands to myself as she tucks her thumbs into the waistband of those maddening athletic pants. She takes a step back to get a better angle as she rocks her hips back and forth, working the skin-tight material down toward her knees. Much like on top, she's not wearing anything underneath this clothing, and my heart thumps hard as my body responds to her glory. The sexy curve of her ass, the perfect shape of her thighs, the flair of her hips... she’s perfection in every possible w

Arson Of all the professions that I thought she might have, dentist wasn’t even on the list. I could have been asked to guess what she did for a million years, and dentist would never have come up. No, not because I don't think women could be dentists, but because I didn't think she could be a dentist. As many internal jokes as I made, I was absolutely certain that she must be a pop princess, because I can’t imagine her being anything else, in all honesty. And now, I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about her has changed since I saw her last. The first time I accidentally brushed my fingers against her thigh had actually been an accident, but every time thereafter had just been me enjoying her response to my touch. I could tell that she enjoyed the contact, and I loved watching the goosebumps raise along her arms as I skimmed my fingertips along her leg, feeling her warmth through her fitted athletic pants. “I’m not hurting you, am I?” Her pretty brown eyes meet mi
