[Matilda] Five years later... "Mama, we are back!" Rosie's voice echoed all over the house. I chuckled, wiping my hands with the kitchen towel as I walked out of the kitchen and there she was. My four-year-old daughter, thumping on her feet as she rushed towards me and threw herself into my arms. I crouched down and picked her up, spinning her around. "Is my baby girl back?" I asked and she giggled, throwing her head back in the air. "Yes, Mom. Big brothers and daddy are getting the things we bought," she said softly. I nodded and placed her down, ruffling her full wavy hair. My lips stretched into a smile as I stared down at my daughter, the memory of four years back hitting me all at once. The day my baby girl came into the world. We decided not to check the gender of the baby until the delivery day and of course, Kaden predicted well. It was indeed our sunshine. Our baby girl. She chose us. She came into our lives and brought so much joy. A little girl full of life
[Kaden]The moment I saw her step out everything else faded around me. My heart pounded so loudly in my chest as I swallowed so hard, I bit down on my lips, my chest heaving as I stared at my woman walking closer to me with Julia right by her side.Every eye in the hall gazed back at her. Of course, who wouldn't? Not with the way her wedding gown clung to her to perfection. I bit down on my lips hard, trying to keep them from trembling. My eyes quickly shifted over to my boys. They were standing on either side of me, dressed in black tuxedos just like me. Austin had a box of rings and Aiden had one himself. One for me and one for Matilda. My jaw tightened as I watched their smiles widen even more. I shifted my eyes back to my Queen as she got much closer to me. My eyes stung and I swallowed hard, fighting back my emotions.I shouldn't be shedding tears. Heavens, I am a man but how can I hold it together with the way Matilda was looking? How can I hold it together when the woman I love
[Matilda]I hardly recognized the woman staring back at me as I stared right into the mirror. The silk of my wedding gown clung in all the right places, its fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline framed by delicate lace that traced up to my shoulders. Tiny beads shimmered with every breath, catching the light like stars scattered across the fabric. The veil draped softly over my curled hair, and the train spilled behind me like liquid ivory. My hands trembled against the edges of the vanity, and for a second, I thought the tears that burned my eyes would spill over and ruin everything the makeup artist had so carefully perfected. It was finally my day. The day I would be tying the knot again with the man I love. I stared at my wedding gown through the mirror one more time and my breath hitched as I swallowed so hard trying to fight back my tears.Because today, it was different. Different from how it was years back. This time my heart wasn't clenching because I was getting married
[Matilda]One month later..."Are you sure you're okay love?" Kaden asked me for the umpteenth time as we stepped into the new house we just bought. That's right Kaden had to buy a new house even when I objected to it, he said our family needed a bigger house. Our wedding is just one week from now and it's been a whole lot. From gown fittings to finding a perfect hall and everything else.I had to practically plead with Kaden to allow us to have a small wedding just like I've always wanted. Just family and a few friends."You don't seem okay to me baby. Are you sure you're fine?" Kaden asked again and this time I had to stop on my track, folding my hands across my chest."Baby, can you stop with the questions already? I told you it's just stress. It's been a whole lot this past week you know that. I'm just stressed," I said to him and he narrowed his eyes like he wasn't even believing a single thing I just said.I mean, if I'm sick, why would I hide it from him? He would probably be t
[Kaden]I've never been this nervous in my entire life. I thought I was a man who would never get this worked up or nervous. But when it comes to this woman who has taken over my whole heart, I've concluded that I never really knew myself so much.I've had everyone right here help out with this setup. We had to deliberate so many times on the location that would be perfect for it and we ended up choosing a yacht. My heart pounded so loudly in my chest as I lowered myself on one knee, pulling out the ring from my pocket. The one I carefully picked out and designed for my woman. I took a slow deep breath as I watched her eyes widen. My eyes shifted to everyone who was already present inside the room. My eyes flicked toward my boys. They both had two bouquets each with smiles all over their face. I swallowed hard trying to gulp down the lump that was forming in my throat. My eyes shifted back to my woman. She still had her hand over her mouth, her eyes burning into mine."Ka... Kaden," s
