Ugh, alarm clocks suck. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It's like that Duncan Donut dude saying, "time to make the donuts," but for me, it's "time to feed the horses." Don't get me wrong, I love my time with the horses, but I hate mornings.

Lane shows up, and I help him unload his horse and get settled in the bunkhouse. I asked him if he wants breakfast, but he's all good. He wants to unpack and then meet me at the house at eight to chat about some stuff.

I go inside and whip up some biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I brewed some coffee, and soon enough my motley crew of friends showed up. Lucky them, getting to sleep in. I'm a tad jealous, to be honest.

"Hey sis, what's that delicious smell?" Declan asks as he walks over to the stove. He turns around and exclaims, "You made your signature homemade biscuits and gravy?"

"Yep, I sure did, man child," I laugh.

"Hey, don't be mean. Your homemade biscuits and gravy are the bomb! I'm gonna leave here needing elastic pant
