Tristan's perspective: I was going to go alone. When I left Mira's house, a memory was trying to be heard. Something odd about the location on the map. I pull it out, staring at the small burn. 'Just move already' Cole growls, ready to rip apart anyone found near the spot. Wait. Back of the pack grounds, pushing the border. Fuck. The burn site. The memory of the story coming fresh to my mind. 'We need to meet, now' I link Aiden, Mira, Layla & Shayne. I feel bad leaving Nathanial out of the loop but I know he'd fight to come. For once it wasn't his safety I was thinking about. It's Armina's and our pups. I need someone who I trust, someone strong to stay by her side. To make sure no one makes it past us and gets to her. The responses come quick, all of us moving to the lower level of the pack house. I'm tense as I throw the map down. Pointing to the burn mark, "There is an old cave on the border" I push my finger down near the burn, watching the confused expressions in the room.
Mira: Never in my life have I felt the kind of loyalty and protectiveness from any individual. Whether it be a witch or a wolf. I've heard the whispers, felt the warnings from my ancestors about the darkness that lives in his soul. It couldn't be further from the truth.Seeing the love from Armina towards both Nathanial and Tristan had rocked my view of them. I had started to really admire Armina, feeling the kindness and softness from her heart whenever I was around her. I had felt the same from Tristan several times; but I always tried to deny it. Not wanting to believe that I had helped Sarah work against someone who really didn't deserve it. When I entered his memories, none of his actions had anything to do with his own needs. Even while being beaten badly, he still never worried about his own death, or cared about his own pain. All he saw was Nathanial. I know his fear of betrayal, how could he not after being raised by the monster who was meant to protect him. I felt the way
I wasn't normally one to mess with the dead. I had always held the belief that once a wolf had passed, the moon goddess decided their path. Whether or not she welcomed them into the grove, or let their souls pass into the dark realm. The day the first attack came after the summit, we had burried the enemies in a large grave, no markers; no honour of their memories. Luckily I was there when Ethan was dumped, dropped on top of his bastard son to side, near the large tree on the field. Cole is still filled with rage, giving us the strength to dig him up quickly. Not thinking of the depravity of my actions, I rip his hand from his decaying body, holding it in our teeth as Cole sprints towards Mira's house. When we turn, I realise I'm walking with a dead hand into the house of someone who has only just began to trust me. 'Probably a little dark' I mumble to Cole, not letting it stop me. "Mira?" I call out, "Come in" she calls, "Um, I feel like I should warn you" I start explaining as I
Nathanial's perspective: "Go!" I order Aiden and Shayne, both of them looking to Armina as she lies helpless on the bed. "I will keep her safe" I vow; they both nod; running after Tristan. "What link?" I ask confused, Mira looks almost shy, an emotion I didn't know she was capable of. "Tristan wants me to be able to contact you guys, through a mind link" she admits. "Wow" I can't help but smile, "To Tristan that is pretty much inviting you into the pack" slightly suprised. Tristan has never been one to trust easily, considering Mira is a witch I never thought he'd be accepting her so unconditionally. I am glad to see he has finally broadened his view on the world, learning that not everyone outside of the pack is the enemy. Better than that he is showing a trait that I've rarely seen from him, forgiveness. "I don't know how about all that, but I do have to admit" she looks nervous, "His not the person I thought he was" her confession makes me smile. "I always heard how cold he was,
Tristan's perspective: "It doesn't feel possible" I say, my eyes on Armina's growing stomach. In the space of a few hours it has more than tripled; if you watch closely you can see it move as the babies kick and wriggle inside her stomach. Mira sighs, "It isn't the natural way, this kind of magic goes against the laws of nature" her own eyes defeated as she watches her stomach with me. "It isn't right, taking away her right to experience bringing life into this world, watching her belly grow with happiness instead of pain and fear" Nathanial nods sadly. "Dr Green is bringing a portable ultrasound; I didn't think we should move her" Layla explains as Aiden, Shayne and Grace enter the room behind her, all of their eyes going wide as they take in her state. "Oh my goddess" Grace sounds like she could faint, her voice week as her eyes meet mine. "Tristan" she sighs, moving closer to take my hand. I grip it tightly, wishing I could do something more than watch and wait. "I want to kill
Greta looks defeated as we enter; you'd think it had been days instead of a few short hours. She looks up at us with empty eyes, "What do you want?" Mira moves forward, "Who are you working for?" Wasting no time. Greta shakes her head and scoffs, "Someone who is going to kill you, guessing within the next day or two. She doesn't know I failed" her tone changing as she says the word failed. "You mean to tell me you didn't know?" Mira pushes, "I felt the power leave me child; I am not an amateur like you" Mira watches her closely. Greta watches us both her eyes moving slowly between us before she suddenly smiles, a scary stuff of nightmares smile. "IT'S TWINS!" She starts laughing, her whole energy changing. "You stupid little girl, I didn't fail" Mira's face changes, "Tristan, we need to get to Armina, now" she states, pulling on my arm. "What's does that mean, what does it being twins have to do with anything?" The anxiety coming from her setting my own off. "Tristan the spell didn't
