Chapter 39

GUNNAR POV

I knock on my old office door, and Hilda growls from the other side. I laugh as I push open the door. This is going to be a fun new relationship.

"I didn't want to disturb you, Alpha," I state with a grin, and my sister shoots me a glare.

"Is there a reason why you are disturbing me while I am trying to catch up on YOUR old paperwork," Hilda asks while rolling her eyes?

"Well, Alpha Malcolm and Alpha Arne just crossed the border. They will be at the packhouse soon. Where do you want to hold the meeting," I ask while avoiding her statement about paperwork?

I definitely won't miss that part of being Alpha. To be honest, I won't miss any parts of being Alpha, sitting in an office, worrying about each pack member—planning or budgeting events. I was terrible at it all. Now I get to deliver information, and all the final decisions rest on Hilda's shoulders. Not to mention all the free time I can spend with Vanessa.
