“Why are you here?” I asked her again in shock.

“Wow… definitely not the warm welcome I expected,” she said to me, looking hurt, and I immediately felt bad.

“I’m sorry,” I tried to apologize. “I just did not expect to see you here after all this time… you look—”

“Great?” she replied, while slowly shortening the distance between us.

“Yeah. But why are you back? Thought you left here for good,” I told her as a matter of fact, as I still could not believe my eyes.
