Third Person's POV
"Stop pretending. It's been so long since the incident, and you never once invited us out for a meal to apologize. What's the real deal? Now you're just trying to show off that your rich boyfriend bought you a house, right?"
Raven's voice was just loud enough to reach the ears of those around them. The surrounding people cast odd glances their way.
Raven had previously been accused of spreading rumors by the dean and had endured quite a few disdainful looks during that time.
She had no patience for Melinda now.
Melinda hadn't expected Raven's reaction to be so intense, nor had she anticipated that Raven would directly expose her vanity.
Her face turned pale instantly. "Raven, let's talk this through. I didn't mean it like that..."
Raven scoffed, "Who wants to talk this through with you?"
"Raven, I know I was wrong. This time, I genuinely want to apologize to you... can you just forgive me?" Tears rolled down
Third Person's POVVanya found the situation amusing. Her gaze fell on Melinda, brimming with mockery. "Miss Coleman, business is like a battlefield. You can't morally coerce others with just the word 'effort.' It seems you're not cut out for the workplace—you'd fare better as a nun in a church.""You!" Melinda was left speechless."Mrs. Todd is right. Our planning does have shortcomings..." Evans quickly agreed. He didn't dare cross Vanya now. After all, Cliff and Vanya were still mated, and he wasn't about to side with a breeder first.Vanya said, "Mr. Thompson, first and foremost, I am the owner of Dalton Media. Second, I am Mrs. Todd.""Right, right! My mistake, please don't take it to heart," Evans replied."These past days at the Thompson Group, if anything has troubled you, please forgive us. Such incidents won't recur," Evans added."Very well," Vanya said coolly. "I'm not unreasonable. I'll fulfill my duties and
Third Person's POV"Miss Coleman, since you're speechless, kindly inform Mr. Thompson to meet me," Vanya said, handing the documents to Stewart beside her."I'm not in a good mood today. Let's table this contract for this year."Sabrina, hearing the commotion from her office, frowned as she stepped out.Seeing Vanya, she remarked, "Vanya, why is it always you? Can't you work properly!"But she soon sensed something was amiss as everyone around her shot her a "stop talking" look.Only then did Sabrina notice Stewart beside Vanya. She quickly put on a smile and approached him. "Isn't this Stewart? Here for Mr. Calvert's contract discussion? This way, please."Stewart, expressionless, replied, "Not me. Our CEO, Miss Dalton is here to meet with Mr. Thompson.""Miss Dalton?" Sabrina glanced around but saw no one.Stewart gestured toward Vanya. "This is our CEO, Vanya Dalton from the Dalton family."Sabrina followed his gaze and saw Vanya leaning against her desk, regarding her like a clown
Third Person's POVVanya poured herself a cup of coffee. Calvert remarked, "But you seem pretty energetic now; you're definitely not sick."Vanya asked, "Your work at the Thompson Group is almost done, right?""Leaving tomorrow," Calvert raised an eyebrow. "I haven't even left yet, and you already miss me?""Don't flatter yourself. I'm just worried about getting a hard time after you're gone."Lately, female colleagues had been treating her as a schemer. Rumors even claimed she had a sugar daddy and shady dealings back in school.Vanya knew Melinda was behind it all but didn't bother to care. With M Group keeping her busy, she didn't want to waste time on petty squabbles.Calvert frowned. "Are they bullying you?""Not yet, but probably will once you're gone."The female staff, intimidated by Calvert's constant presence, hadn't dared to confront Vanya. But after he left, things might change. After a moment of silence, Vanya patted Calvert's shoulder earnestly. "I'll be fine. If they co
Third Person's POVOutside the meeting room, several employees craned their necks, curious about the commotion."Why would Alpha Cliff show up at our company out of the blue?""What's his deal with that new intern, anyway?""But I heard Cliff's thing is with the new girl, Melinda. So what's the story with her?"Melinda, passing by, overheard the conversation and her nerves tightened. She asked, "Who did you say is here?"The employees, noticing Melinda approaching, quickly returned to their workstations.Melinda frowned and pressed, "I'm asking, who's here?"One of the female staff whispered, "It's Alpha Cliff. He's here and he's questioning Vanya in the conference room.""Alpha Cliff?" Melinda's face lit up with a flicker of joy.Inside the conference room, Cliff leaned in toward Vanya and said in a low voice, "Vanya, I'm looking out for you. Stay away from someone like Theodore, Kendrick—they have an agend
Third Person's POV"Shall I have Mr. Thompson fire Miss Coleman?" Elliot asked."No need," Cliff replied indifferently. "From now on, I won't interfere in Melinda's affairs.""Alright.""Get the car ready. I need to see Vanya.""To Thompson Group?" Elliot was taken aback — wouldn't that mean crossing paths with Melinda?"I have words for her that need to be said in person."At the Thompson Group's filming site, Vanya sipped juice sent by Calvert. While he had her assist on set, she was effectively free to daydream.Calvert flashed her a smile during shooting. She pulled a face back, making his grin widen.Sabrina spotted this from the doorway and frowned. "Vanya, someone's here to see you."Vanya smoothed her clothes, wondering who would visit her at work, as office staff craned their necks toward the entrance.Evans followed Cliff, fawning, "Alpha Cliff, our joint projects have done well. Your
Third Person's POV"I..." Vanya was about to speak, her voice still tinged with barely suppressed emotion, when Derrick's voice came from outside the door: "Theodore, the stuff you asked me to get..."Derrick's voice trailed off as he took in the scene. His pupils instinctively shrank to slits before quickly returning to normal, and the packaged gourmet food he was carrying nearly slipped from his grip.Theodore's cold cedar pheromones were like icy blades, openly suppressing the entire room.Vanya hastily stepped back, putting distance between herself and Theodore. The wolf hairs on the back of her neck prickled with tension, and her lily pheromones rippled with disarray.Derrick noticed Theodore's grim expression—the cold in his slit pupils nearly freezing—and immediately realized he'd interrupted something. His cedar and malt pheromones trembled ingratiatingly, "I could... leave?""Don't go! I need you here!"
