Vanya's POV
I already figured it out. The worst that could happen is Cliff spilling that I went to Wolfe.
I don't care. If that's what it takes, I'll just cut ties with him early.
"I just don't get it. What's so great about a college girl? Vanya's prettier and better than her. Are you blind? How could you turn out like this?"
"Grandma, it's my fault. It's not Melinda's. Don't take it out on her."
"You!" Veronica shot up from the couch, her presence swelling like a storm.
The pressure she exuded was like a tidal wave, freezing the air around her.
As the former Luna of the Silver Moon Pack, even regular werewolves would tremble in her fury.
"I didn't want to meddle, but with your attitude... don't blame me for being ruthless!" She turned to Elliot and barked, her voice dripping with authority.
"Get on the phone with Wolfe right now and get that girl, Melinda, kicked out. If Cliff keeps seeing her, I'll use every connection
Third Person's POVAs Cliff reached to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, Vanya turned her head away, leaving his hand suspended mid-air.Vanya stood up and asked, "I have a question for you.""Sure," Cliff said."Is Melinda an orphan?" Vanya asked."Yes," Cliff replied."Was she a student at the girls' school?" Vanya continued."Yes," Cliff nodded."Then why choose her?" Vanya pressed.Without hesitation, Cliff answered, "Her academic performance at the private girls' school was exceptional. The Todd family aims to support promising students. We don't pick them randomly. We evaluate their qualifications, character, and image before deciding to assist them.""But among the many students the Todd Group has helped, you've treated Melinda specially," Vanya said.Seeing Vanya's expression, Cliff thought she was jealous and took her hand, saying, "I saw her in the private school uniform giving water to stray
Third Person's POVGiven the current rumors linking her to Calvert, Vanya was wary of being photographed alone. As she exited the Todd residence, she noticed several masked women loitering outside.Something was amiss. Cliff, emerging from the garage, spotted them too and immediately called security."Get them off the property," he ordered coldly."Yes, sir," the guards responded.Vanya stood her ground. When security arrived, the women began hurling insults, "Slut! Stay away from Calvert!""He'd never look at a married woman like you!""Go to hell, Vanya!" ...Vanya's eyes narrowed. The Todd address wasn't public knowledge. If these women had found it through online sleuthing, the Todds would face daily mobs.Their presence suggested a leak.Vanya glanced back and saw Genevieve watching from the window. She knew Genevieve was behind this."Look out!"As Vanya's attention
Third Person's POV"Vanya, explain this to me," Veronica demanded, her posture accusatory.Vanya descended the stairs with composure and glanced at the newspaper on the table. "I simply had a meal with one of our artists. This article is just a publicity stunt—there's no truth to it.""What do you mean?" Veronica frowned.Vanya smiled. "Calvert has been acting since his debut with minimal scandals. This is merely a company tactic to boost his exposure for his new drama. It's not a big deal."Veronica paused but insisted, "I may not understand your jargon, but this tarnishes the Todd Group's reputation and yours! Now everyone will know. How much face will the Todd family lose? I don't care about your so-called exposure. Fix this immediately, or don't bother coming back!"After Veronica's outburst, Genevieve spoke up. "Veronica, this is Luna Vanya's work matter. Please don't be angry. I heard Luna Vanya was often away, likely busy with w
Third Person's POV"What about the private girls' school?" Vanya sensed something was off.Calvert shook his head. "I'm not sure, but Melinda definitely wasn't a student there. Families at Cumran High aren't well-off. Her mother was a gambler, and they were in dire financial straits. The headteacher even urged her to pay the tuition. She claimed she could gather the money, but soon she dropped out."Vanya's brows furrowed. So Melinda wasn't an orphan.
Third Person's POV"Very well, Miss Dalton," Stewart replied."You may leave," Vanya said.Once Stewart exited, Vanya leaned back in her chair, exhaustion etching lines on her face.A knock sounded, and Vanya opened her eyes to see Calvert standing at the door. "You look worn out today," he said."Why are you here?" Vanya asked, glancing at the clock. She recalled Calvert should be at the filming site."The shoot wrapped early. I saw you return to the office and came to check in," Calvert explained as he sat across from Vanya.Lately, Calvert's star had soared. His dramas dominated platforms, and endorsement deals flooded in.Now a top-tier actor, his presence was in high demand.Vanya sipped her coffee to stay alert. "Did you come just to check on my well-being?""I have a question for you," Calvert said."Go ahead," Vanya prompted."Do you know Melinda?" Calvert asked.Vanya's brows furrowed
Third Person's POV"What's the issue?" Vanya asked."Melinda's academic records show she's been studying finance with excellent grades. But her plans are riddled with elementary mistakes. Something's off," Barbara explained."Elementary mistakes?""Yes. The jargon seems Googled. I checked her search history and her stock analysis—it's a mess. I suspect her qualifications might be fake," Barbara said.Vanya furrowed her brows. Melinda was groomed by Cliff. How could her academic records be fake?As Vanya hesitated, the lounge door opened.Elliot entered with a plate of cheeseecake slices.Vanya said into the phone, "I have other matters. I'll contact you tonight.""Understood, Miss Dalton," Barbara replied. After hanging up, Elliot placed the cheeseecake in front of Vanya."Alpha Cliff said you love cheeseecake," he said.Vanya looked at the cheeseecake. She used to love it, but how did Cliff know?
