"This is Jake the person I spoke to you about,” Vanessa said, “This is Nathan Myles, one of the top lawyers in the country."

Jake gave him a handshake and directed him to his seat.

"Coffee or tea?" Vanessa questioned.

"Tea will do," Myles said.

Vanessa walked to the kitchen to prepare him some tea.

"Vanessa here has told me a lot about your case; I ask that you tell me the truth and nothing but the truth; I'm here to help you," he said.

"I am here going to be asking you some questions now like I said earlier be truthful,” Myles added

"All right, I'll give you every response I have available. And I swear to tell the truth," Jake stated.

"This girl in question—who is she to you?" Myles enquired.

"Her name was Layla, she was my ex-girlfriend,” Jake responded,

Myles was given some tea by Vanessa, who then quickly sat down next to Jake.
