BRIELLE’S POV

I couldn’t sleep properly all night. My eyes kept drifting to the space on the bed where Albert used to hold me, where I used to feel safe. But now… the space felt like a wall between us.

I was tired. Tired of crying silently. Tired of begging for his attention. Tired of punishing myself for one mistake.

Yes, I hid Sophia from him. And it cost me everything.

But I still had to be strong. For Sophia. For the baby. For myself.

By morning, I made up my mind.

After getting Sophia ready, I walked to Albert’s study. He was reading through some files, but I could tell he heard me enter. He didn’t look up until I spoke.

“I’ll be going out today,” I said, standing straight. “Mathew is back, and he asked to meet. He offered me a job, and I want to take it.”

Albert slowly looked up at me. His face was unreadable. For a moment, I couldn’t tell if he was angry or just thinking.

Then he leaned back in his chair.

“So go na,” he said simply, without any expression. “You don’t need my p

Brielle’s POVI was trying to focus on the documents in front of me when my phone started ringing. I didn’t need to check to know it was Lucy. She had been calling nonstop for days now. With a deep breath, I answered.“Brielle,” she said sharply, “you better come and meet me somewhere today. If you don’t, I’ll show up at your husband’s place. I swear I’ll cause a scene.”I clenched my teeth. “Lucy, leave me alone. Don’t call me again,” I said quickly and ended the call.As I turned around, my heart jumped.Albert was standing behind me, staring. I froze. Did he hear everything? I felt my throat tighten.I opened my mouth to explain, but before I could say a word, my phone buzzed again with a message. It was Lucy.“My brother is coming soon to take his child from you. You must give that child to him, or you’ll pay back all the money my family spent on my leg for years. And if you tell anyone, especially the police, how you got pregnant and if you dare say he raped you, I will destroy y

Diana’s POV“Wow,” I said to myself, pacing my room. “So Albert is really doubting if the baby Brielle is carrying is his?”I laughed quietly.“Thank goodness I was there at the hospital on time. Everything is falling into place.”My eyes lit up with excitement.“By the time Jason switches the sample… the DNA result will say exactly what Albert already suspects. He’ll believe the child isn’t his, and that’ll be the end of Brielle.”I smiled wider, placing my hand on my stomach.“Albert will never know that the baby Brielle is carrying is really his. And once he throws her out… I’ll use Jason to crush her. She’ll be destroyed completely. And I’ll finally get what I’ve been fighting for.”But as I sat on the edge of my bed, my smile slowly faded. There was one problem left.Nicholas.He was becoming too risky.I picked up my phone to call him, just to warn him not to show up again without telling me. Before I went to the hospital earlier, I saw him at the estate gate About to enter. If

Albert’s POVI stood outside the hospital room, watching through the small glass. Brielle was lying on the bed, eyes closed, hands resting on her stomach. That stomach.I stared at it longer than I should have.I needed answers.I couldn’t get Jason’s words out of my head. He had said Brielle used to visit him secretly. He made it sound like they still had something going on behind my back. Even though I wanted to believe Brielle, the way she hid Sophia from me made it hard to trust her. That was the day I began to doubt her deeply. The way she cried and begged, the way she said she loved me, was it all fake? No. I needed to know for sure.So I asked the doctor to meet me privately. We spoke in his office. I told him I wanted a DNA test on the unborn child. He looked surprised, but I made it clear. I needed to know if the baby was mine."I will collect the sample from your wife quietly. She won’t know yet,” the doctor said.“Make sure no one finds out,” I warned him. “Not even Brielle

Albert's PovI raised my voice. “Desperate? You think this is about desperation? That necklace was the symbol of our marriage, Brielle! It meant something. It was the only thing I thought you still held onto…”I laughed bitterly. “But now you’ve finally proven it to me. You never loved me. All you ever cared about was the money.”She shook her head quickly, tears falling. “No—”“Yes!” I cut her off. “You didn’t even wait. You couldn’t come to me. You just ran out and sold it like it was nothing. Like I meant nothing.”She stepped forward, trying to speak, but I moved back.“No, don’t worry. Since you don’t need the necklace anymore, I’ll give it to someone who will value it. Or maybe I’ll just keep it. At least I know what it meant.”Brielle gasped quietly, holding her chest like my words just stabbed her heart.Sophia stood between us, confused, holding her little doll. The air between us was heavy. So full of everything we never said.I turned to walk away… but something stopped me.

Brielle’s POVI pushed the door open slowly. The room was too quiet. My mom lay on the bed, her eyes closed, face pale, and connected to machines that beeped softly. A tube was in her nose, and there were bandages on her head and arms.Tears rolled down my cheeks the moment I saw her.“Mom…” I whispered and moved closer. I held her hand gently. It was cold and soft, lifeless almost. “Please don’t leave me. I need you.”I sat beside her and rested my head on the edge of the bed.The door opened, and the doctor stepped in. He had a tired face and held a clipboard.“Miss Brielle,” he said carefully. “We’re doing everything we can. Your mother is stable for now, but still unconscious.”I nodded, wiping my tears.“And your father,” he continued, “is still in emergency. He suffered internal bleeding, and we need to perform surgery as soon as possible.”“Please save him,” I said. “Do anything. Just save them.”The doctor looked at me quietly for a second, then said, “The cost for the surgery
