Athena’s POV

I woke up feeling better, the pain I had felt the last few days was gone. My body was still sore, but I could move. I stretched gently and smiled.

It felt good to feel normal again. After a quick shower, I got dressed in my training clothes. I tied my hair up and made my way downstairs to the training ground. When I got to the field, it was empty. It was strange because Matthew was never late.

He was always the first one at the training ground, even before I arrived. I frowned and looked around, thinking maybe he was hiding somewhere or playing a trick on me but, he was really not here. I sat down on a wooden bench by the side of the field, tapping my fingers on my knee and waiting.

A few minutes later, I saw him walking toward me.

My eyes widened when I noticed what he was carrying. It was a huge basket filled with fruit. Bright red apples, juicy pears, grapes, bananas.

I burst out laughing. “What’s that?” I asked, pointing at the basket.
