I heard the rustling and shifted to the other side of the bed, reaching out to touch her, but it was empty. I opened my eyes, brushing them with the heel of my palm as sleep groggily left me.

Wait a minute. I…slept. I actually slept.

I slept, and it was because she was beside me. It was because she slept beside me.

“You’re up,” I heard, and turned my eyes to where she stood by the wardrobe. In her hands, she held two shirts that belonged to me.
