"What the f*ck is wrong with you, Yvonne? You want to land me in trouble?" He growled, his eyes turning red.Fear gripped me because I knew what was about to happen: his wolf was about to attack, and there was nothing he could do about it because when he became aggressive, his wolf took control of his body. Before I could speak, Conan had pounced on me, and I fell on the tiled floor; his fangs pierced through my soft skin."Ah!" I yelled as I saw my hand bleeding."After conspiring with the rogue Lycans to injure her, you had the guts to come here to attack her again!" Conan growled."It's okay, Conan; don't hurt her, please," Sophia said, pretending to have my interest in mind.Conan then left me on the floor with his eyes still fierce and his jaw clenching out of anger."You want to kill my mate in my palace," he remarked, breathing heavily. After a few minutes of standing, he left the room.I lay on the floor, sobbing, as the pain of my wounded hand and leg was unbearable. After a few minutes, I summoned the courage to stand to my feet. I really needed to get out of this place before the worst would happen. However, as I was managing to get up, Sophia stood from her position and kicked me backwards, making me fall massively, and she laughed with satisfaction."Did you like what just happened now?" she smirked."Sophia, you will pay for all these," I yelled, crawling to escape from the room; however, she held me back.I was so pained to the core that I wanted to use my last strength to fight her and show her what I'm capable of. At least to give her the real injury she set me up for; however, I waved off the thought from my mind because I knew it would only cause more harm to me."If you don't do as I said, you'll see more than this in the future, and by then, I won't be in any position to help," she whispered, holding my jaw like a slave."Over my dead body," I responded.Feeling annoyed, she clenched her teeth and spat on my face. "You stubborn clown," she snarled.Immediately, I lost control of my anger and kicked her with all my strength, and she fell on the bed."What an insult!" I stated, using the bedsheet to clear the spit on my face. After cleaning my face, I hurriedly stood up from the floor to run, despite my hand and right leg aching."He doesn't need to meet me here again," I mumbled and ran out.In the compound, I was staring everywhere, looking for a short and open space to sneak out of the palace, because I knew following the general route would lead to Conan, his father, or the guards seeing me.Fortunately, I discovered the emergency little gate, which is only in use when there is a catastrophe in the palace. As I was trying to unlock it with the master key I had, I heard the echoes of my name from my back, and I nearly urinated on my body out of fret. The voice was that of Hakim, the beta of the pack."Wha– – what do you want from me, Hakim?" I questioned him."I want nothing from you, my Luna," he responded. "I really wish I could help you out in this terrible situation you're in, but I can't; I have to do my job," he narrated.Hearing those words, I let out a heavy breath of relaxation. If not for anything, some people know I'm truly being belittled and care for me.Nonetheless, as I opened my mouth to commend him, he interrupted: "The Alpha demands your presence; that was actually what I came to let you know," he remarked, making my heart sink into my stomach."What could it be again?" I was curious. "Who knows if Sophia has lied against me again?" I wondered, my body trembling out of fear."Um, okay, I've heard you, Hakim; tell him I'm coming," I stuttered."No, my queen, the Alpha demanded that you come with me, I can't go back without you by my side," Hakim opposed.I gritted my teeth in confusion, riffling my neatly cured hair out of frustration. "Okay, let's go," I replied."After all, I haven't seen anyone die twice; if I die today, I will die no more, and my pains will go away," I mumbled inwardly, trying to overcome the fear in me.A few minutes later, we arrived at the Alpha chamber; however, Sophia was seated beside Conan and was faking a cry.She glared at me with a mocking gaze, and I could read from her lips, "You're yet to see the real me."Just as I was lost in thought, thinking of what she might have told Conan, Conan's voice brought me back to reality."Yvonne, so after everything, you went ahead to hurt Sophia, even after I scolded you for your first attempt." He questioned, his voice as cold and dominating as he had never been before."My Alpha, I was only trying to protect myself; I did nothing to her; it was just self-defence as she badly wanted to kill me," I responded, with an honest look.He smirked upon hearing my response. "She wanted to kill you, really?" he added, smiling, and then turned his gaze to Sophia."Don't mind her, honey. She's lying," Sophia quickly responded without even Conan asking her any questions."Oh, I know she was. You don't need an explanation," he replied, staring at me and smiling wickedly, with his legs crossed. After a few seconds of staring at me without uttering a word, he finally dropped the glass of wine he was holding and gently let Sophia off from his body. He stood up and began approaching me where I was kneeling."Please, Conan, I'm innocent. She wanted to kill me that's why I kicked her to flee for my life." I cried, trembling, because I didn't know what he had in mind to do once he approach me. Perhaps he was about to end my life at this moment, because the first time he injured me, he broke my leg and arm."I won't touch you anymore, Yvonne, there's no need to tremble," he said.I let out a deep breath upon hearing that, at least my life is no longer at stake now."But this would be your last moment in this pack, yes, and I mean it," he said, causing me to jolt in shock. However, my eyes collided with Sophia's, and she smiled at me with satisfaction. Truly, she said it—she said that I would see more in the future, and here it is manifesting."There is no need for the investigation I said that should be commenced concerning the attack the rogue Lycans did, because it's clear now that you truly did it. Therefore, I, Conan Adolph, reject you and banish you from my pack."SIX YEARS LATER On a huge island, in the middle of the ocean, stands a majestic building. Of course, this building belongs to none other than me, Yvonne. I sat on the couch in my garden, taking in the fresh morning breeze and sipping some liquor from the glass of wine I was holding with my legs crossed. I recalled how I got to the level I am now, and a smile crept onto my lips. At the same time, I felt sad about the sad memories, both the ones I experienced in Moonstone Pack and what I went through fending for myself and my babies while studying at a college. I would go to lectures during the day and use the night to work in a restaurant where I served as a waitress. It was not easy for me because I was depriving myself of sleep. I worked till midnight, when there would be no customers, before leaving for my apartment. My boss provided me with an apartment that was beside the restaurant, so I could easily walk home after work without the need to board a cab or trek at midnight. It
CONAN — I was lying on my bed with a gloomy face, trying so hard to wave off the thoughts about what had befallen me, when Hakim, the beta, came in, and I quickly sat up. "My Alpha, the hospital had just responded, but they demanded that you sign a contract first before they would proceed to assign you the doctor who would take care of you," he stated. "What arrant nonsense! Who does that?" I responded, my face frowning worse than it had been. "What has my signature to do with healing me from this deadly disease?" "I'm sorry, my Alpha, but... "But what?" I interrupted him with such a stern gaze that made him keep quiet but stare at me as I reverberated. "Throughout my life, I haven't seen or been to a hospital that demands a contract be signed before treating the patient; what does this mean?" I was confused and surprised at the same time. "I don't know their motive either, my Alpha; maybe that's their rule," Hakim responded. "Rule? Or do they want me to sign off my life to the
YVONNE – "Yvonne, are you really going back to the Moonstone Pack? I thought you vowed not to visit nor set your eyes on the man who nearly ruined your life." Amanda said. I sighed, "You will not understand Amanda, I mean... "You mean what? How could you, Yvonne? How could you agree on the contract? Do you even know the repercussions this might cause you?" She yelled, her gaze cautious. However, her mean words were not going to make me retreat from my conclusion.I sighed and gently placed the glass of juice I was sipping on the table. "Amanda, relax. I know what I'm doing. In case you've forgotten, I'm no longer the weakling Yvonne I was those days, and I would never let them trample on me the way they did in the past. Besides, he is the one who needs my help, and I'm not doing it for him even, but for the pack and Mr. Thomas, who offered the request," I responded. "Really?" Amanda gazed at me in disbelief. "Okay, what if he finds out about the triplets? You'll stand a chance of
YVONNE –"This is the contract paper; Alpha has signed it, but he also requested that you sign a contract too. Once you do this, everything has been sorted out," Mr. Thomas remarked, handing me a paper.I took a glance at Mr. Thomas and immediately threw it away. I don't need to exhibit how irritated I felt about the offer toward him.How could Conan do that? He's the one who needs my help, not me. What's the need for me to sign a contract, too?"Sir, I don't think these people are serious. I mean, this contract doesn't go well with me; how could he request that I sign a contract too when he's the one who needs my help?" I replied."Um, Yvonne, I understand, but it's not really as you thought. He has a very good reason for that. Remember that he's a prominent person, and our reputation needs to be protected," he enunciated.I sighed heavily, feeling weak about the new development."Well, let me have it then," I responded.Mr. Thomas' countenance quickly shone brighter upon hearing my
YVONNE –"Sir, where are you taking us? This isn't the place we're going."However, he didn't utter a word but instead matched the accelerator harder, and the car sped more."I'm doomed. I noticed this earlier, but I ignored my mind. This man isn't from the Moonstone pack," I fret, fear gripping me more as he glares around the bush like a dangerous criminal, making sure there's no barrier while the car is speeding."Yvonne, what do we do? The kids," Amanda whispered."I think I have a plan. He's just one. We can kill him without stress," I responded to her with a whisper.I was about to shift into my wolf form when the car came to a halt, and instantly, two notorious men came out of the bush and hopped in the car. They bonded us together like luggage and sped off to the destination best known to them."Amanda did say that she had a strange feeling this trip would not turn out well, but I ignored her. What have I gotten myself into?" I whimpered in regret as I remembered the argument I
CONAN –I could not believe my eyes. Never did I imagine that the doctor who would save my life would be the same person I rejected and banished from the pack six years ago. I can't believe Yvonne is now a medical doctor.I could remember vividly six years ago, she was just a Luna who couldn't do anything without consulting me, she was the eighteen-year-old girl who faced humiliation from my parents and me just because we could not have a baby.During those years, all she had was our relationship. She had lost her family and doesn't have a sibling, but now she is a whole different person; she has a profession and three cute babies to her name. She has completely changed to the extent that I only recall her through her face. Her body now has attractive curvy shapes and soft skin, while I'm just a childless Alpha diagnosed with a deadly disease who can't do without a walking aid."Who knows who the lucky man could be? What a great loss to me," I mumbled inwardly.I gulped hard as I reca
YVONNE –When we entered the room, with a deadly aura, I pounced on the gamma and broke the guard's leg. All this was possible because none of them could shift. Caesar was a non-shifter, while Gamma was still unable to shift, she was just seventeen years old."Please don't kill me, I'm just under a threat to do this, Sophia forced me into this." Lisa, the gamma pleaded.Meanwhile, the guard had managed to escape the moment I approached Lisa, the gamma."So you mean Sophia forced you to rebel against your Alpha? What about her? Where is she?" I questioned."She left the pack a year ago after poisoning the Alpha; she's no longer here," Lisa responded."Do you mean Conan was suffering from a poison Sophia gave him? What a shock. Well, stay here with me let me give him some treatment first before you proceed to narrate the whole story to me," I responded.I went toward Conan on his sick bed; however, I realized he was no longer breathing."Oh my god, Conan, not now," I fretted, and I bega
YVONNE –The drive to the rented apartment didn't take us long, and we arrived. After we alighted from the car, Hakim reversed the car and brought out his hand from the window. "This is the key to your apartment, ma'am. Enjoy your stay," he remarked, handed me the key, and was about to storm off when I yelled."Wait, you will have to show us some certain things in there; we're just new here and need proper orientation," I stated."Okay, then," he responded, and he alighted from the car, and we sauntered into the building.I glare around the corner, grasping my babies firmly, because I am scared. Who knows if this place is very safe? Or an arranged building to exploit us."This is your room, and that is your kid's room," he stated. "Do you have any problems with this?" he added."Actually, I would prefer to stay in the same room with my kids; they are too young to stay in a room alone, a room that isn't even in our house," I responded."No problem. You can stay with them together while
