Chapter 147

*Christianas POV*

‘I thought I could, but the truth is, I can’t marry you.’

The paper trembled so violently in my hands I could hear it crinkle like dry leaves in a storm. My knees buckled again, but I forced myself upright, dragging the words through my burning eyes.

‘I don’t feel the way I should. I don’t feel the vibes, the connection is not enough to bind myself to you for a lifetime.’

Every tender whisper of love he had spoken unravelled in a breath. My chest cracked open, raw, exposed, every beat of my heart screaming against the truth I was holding.

The letter slipped slightly in my trembling grip, but I clutched it tighter, as though letting go would mean erasing the last trace of him.

I continued reading, trying to stay patient, perhaps it is a prank letter

‘I admit it, I was drawn to you at first. Your beauty, your curves, the way you spoke to me when no one else dared, but it was all pity. The fact I had deflowered you alone made me feel like a bad person

  • Craving The Enemy's Husband   Chapter 226: Tatiana Adams

Chapter 226: Tatiana Adams**Tatiana’s POV**Six whole months. The thought made my chest swell with a mix of joy and nervousness. For the first time in my nineteen years of existence, my parents, my overprotective, borderline smothering, ridiculously-in-love parents were leaving me on my own.Well, not completely alone. Maria was here. Sweet, loyal Maria, who had been in our household since I have always known. She wasn’t just a maid; she was family. Wrinkles now lined her face, her hair more silver than black, but her spirit? Strong as ever. She had always been my safe place, my late-night snack accomplice, and the keeper of all the secrets I could never tell Mom and Dad.Still, the idea of freedom tingled through me like champagne bubbles. No parents watching my every move, no constant reminders of how they survived love and betrayal and decades of drama. Just me. My college classes. My friends. My choices.I was already making a mental list of things I wanted to do: late-night stud

  • Craving The Enemy's Husband   Chapter 225: Family

Chapter 225: Family**Christiana’s POV**The music had resumed, the guests had tried their best to return to laughter and cheer, but for me, the evening was over. Bella’s face, her voice, her venomous words lingered long after she walked out of my birthday celebration like a storm that refused to pass.I held Tatiana’s hand firmly as Bryan guided us back inside, away from the eyes and whispers of curious guests. My daughter’s brow was furrowed, her lips parted with the same stubborn curiosity that had been in her since childhood.“Mom,” she said finally, breaking the silence, “who was that woman?”Her eyes were sharp, expectant. She had heard enough to know it wasn’t just some party crasher.I hesitated. My lips parted, then closed again. How could I possibly explain Bella to her? How could I pour two decades of venom, betrayal, blood, and fire into words that wouldn’t scar her?“Just someone you don’t need to know,” I said at last, my voice clipped but steady.Tatiana frowned deeper.

  • Craving The Enemy's Husband   Chapter 224: Two Decades Revenge

Chapter 224: Two Decades Revenge**Bella’s POV**“You know exactly what I mean.”The words slid from my lips like venom, and I relished the way Christiana’s face drained of color. Her grip tightened on that nineteen years old, glowing with youth, the image of her mother’s stubbornness and Bryan’s infuriating charm. For a brief second, the hall was silent except for the buzz of my own pulse in my ears. The guests, frozen like statues, stared as though I’d just risen from the grave. Perhaps I had. Twenty years of iron bars and stinking cells, twenty years of rotting food and whispers about the “murderess Bella Calamida”… all of it forged me into this moment. The security men finally snapped out of their daze, moving toward me like I was some common intruder. Pathetic.I raised my hands gracefully, my smile sharp. “No need to touch me,” I said sweetly, though the poison laced every syllable. “I’ll leave. I know when I’m not welcome. But…” I let my eyes dart back to Christiana, savoring h

Chapter 223: The Return Of Bella Calamida**Christiana’s POV*********Twenty years later.*******I was no longer the twenty-something who had once stood on a cliff’s edge, debating whether to let despair swallow me whole. I was no longer the woman whose life revolved around revenge and fear.I was fifty years shy of half a century now… forty-nine today, to be exact. A survivor. A wife. A mother. And despite everything, I was still standing. The Adams mansion glittered that evening, filled with laughter and golden light. Bryan had gone all out for my birthday. He invited friends, colleagues, and even distant relatives crowded the hall. My daughter, Tatiana… our pride, our miracle clung to my hand as the guests sang “Happy Birthday,” her voice louder than anyone’s, her smile radiant.Nineteen years old, Tatiana was the perfect blend of me and Bryan. My eyes, Bryan’s smile. My stubbornness, his wit. She carried herself with a confidence I could only wish I had possessed at her age. Watch

  • Craving The Enemy's Husband   Chapter 222: The Wedding

Chapter 222: The Wedding**Christiana’s POV**Pascal had always been the kind of man who carried charm like a second skin, smooth in his words, confident in his touch. But for once, when he came to me that evening before his departure, his aura was stripped of arrogance. He looked… tired.“I saw you both,” he confessed, standing just a few feet away, his eyes heavy but steady on mine.I frowned. “Saw us?”His jaw tightened. “That night. The red room. BDSM”Heat rushed to my face, a wave of memory crashing over me. My lips parted, but no words came. He let out a small, humorless laugh, running a hand through his hair.“I thought I had a chance. Foolish, wasn’t it? To think I could just swoop back into your life after so many years, after disappearing, and win you over.” His voice cracked, softer now. “But when I saw you with him… I knew. You were never mine to claim.”I shifted uncomfortably. “Pascal…”He raised a hand. “Don’t pity me. Please. I don’t want your pity. I just… I needed t

  • Craving The Enemy's Husband   Chapter 221: Twenty Years Sentence

Chapter 221: Twenty Years Sentence**Third Person POV**The courthouse was crowded that morning. Reporters filled the steps outside, cameras flashing like lightning strikes as they fought to capture the face of the woman who had once fooled them all.Inside, the air was thick with whispers bouncing across the gallery, lawyers shuffling papers, police officers stationed at every corner. And in the middle of it all sat Bella Adams, her hands cuffed, her chin lifted high in defiance. She wore a plain suit that the state had given her, but she carried herself as if she still wore designer silk. Her eyes flickered across the room, lingering on Bryan and Christiana where they sat side by side in the front row. Bryan’s arm was around Christiana’s shoulders, his thumb rubbing slow circles as though grounding her.Christiana’s wounds were bandaged now, but the memory of Bella’s knife still haunted her skin. The judge entered, robes sweeping, and the bailiff called for silence.“Case number 14-
