Chapter Fifty

For a week now, things had very very sweet between Peter and I, he calls me every now and then to check on our unborn baby, what about chatting and video calls? He won't let an hour go without getting in touch with me.
I love the way things were going between us, Peter was God sent to my life.
Even the day I slept over in his house, the next day, Peter and I went on a date before he drove me back to Elizabeth's place; we had been all lovey dovey since then.
That was how everything had been between us, and, this weekend would be especially sweeter because Peter would be coming over today, he's coming to officially meet mum.
Mum and I were busy in the kitchen, we were making lot of foods as mum said she wants to serve him varieties of food.

CHAPTER THREEKaren DonnaWe land in New York, finally.Mike and I board taxi to the house he bought in New York sometime ago. I really want to ask him why he doesnāt live at New York, but I remember his work at our town, Oak HillHe is a lawyer, one I am proud of everyday.We reach the house, and a petite girl came out to help us carry our bags.āThis is Annie, my cousin,ā Mike says, wrapping his arms on my waist, snuggling me closer to him. I squeal in happiness, watching mum and Ralph scream."I m proud of you baby," mum's teary voice says, making me smile till my cheeks hurts."Thanks mum, I love you.""Is Mike coming home today?"Ralph asked, sipping a liquid from his favorite cup. Mr. Peter office was full of wealthy office interior designs, the toilet looks like a bedroom. I once dreamt of being the boss myself. His office was every workers dream.I walk into his chilly office, mentally cussing myself for sleeping at work I want to cry, but I hold stillāSleeping when youāre supposed to be working? āAnger flashes in his eyes, his voice hard; they send fear down my spine. Peter Wellington I stare at her as she nods her head to all my questions. She is tired but I didnāt excuse her. We still have a lot of work to do, and letting her leave will delay the paperwork I have to summit early tomorrow morning.She hit her head on the table. She winced in pain, rubbing her forehead. I stifle a laughter that is trying to escape my throat.āCan I please sleep for some minutes?ā she begs, giving me the puppy dog eyes. I snort not moved.
