“Can you give us some privacy?” I told everyone in the room without letting go of the hug.
“But Luna, are you sure?” Doctor Judees asked, worried.
“I’ll be fine,” I gave them an assuring smile.
Everyone looked at each other, hesitating if they would leave. I know they are worried but I think I can handle it. Maybe I can. The doctor sighed in defeat.
“Fine,” she said with finality. “Let’s go everyone.”
No one was moving. Their eyes were still fixated on me as if I just made myself a sacrifice in some cult. I nodded at them and that is when everyone started walking away, leaving me and Connor alone.
