Chapter Eight

Once again, Mark is standing in the same clearing where he used to play as a child. For a moment, he panics and, in his mind, he wonders, “Am I dead? Again?” But he doesn’t have to wait for the answer for too long. Just then, he hears an angry growl from behind him. Because of his instincts, he immediately turns around, looking alert and defensive at the same time.

Behind him, he sees a large black wolf with dark, shiny eyes. It’s almost 7.5 ft tall and 12 ft long. Under the moonlight, its black fur is gleaming like silk. With its majestic bearing, it would have been a sight to behold, if only his fangs were not baring at him. He also has a feeling as if the wolf is glaring at him as well.

From its appearance, the wolf seems quite familiar to him. He looks at it more closely and ponders, “where was it? Or am I just thinking too much?” After a few seconds of
