Jules clipped the tiny extra leaves from the stem of the single flower growing in the pot. It was the weekend, and she’d begged Cassie to postpone the outing she was forcing her into—just so she could stay home.

Now she was attending to the flowerpots in the garden—doing what she'd watched the gardener do all morning—just so she could keep her mind busy with something. But it barely worked.

Thankfully, Ethan was away on a trip and wouldn't be coming back till that evening, so Jules made a mental note to go to bed before he returned so she could keep ignoring his ass like she'd been doing all week.

She was still pretty mad at him about the anniversary. But even more, she was still a bit shaken about the book she'd seen. And the worst part is she hadn't seen that book on the shelf since that day.

It's either Ethan had noticed she'd touched it, or he was adding another man to the list or crossing out another name.

Either way, she couldn't get it out of her head, and the only way to help

“I'm scared of Jules. I don't think it's time.” Jules stared at him, her face blank as she tried to decipher if he was lying or telling the truth this time. But there was just something in his eye that clouded her judgement. She hated that about him. That he was so damn good at hiding his emotions. Finally, she walked away from him towards the door. “I have nothing to say to you, Ethan." She slammed her mouse on the desk, trying to stop herself from replaying yesterday in her head.As much as Ethan's apology sounded like crap to her, there was this feeling in her chest that wanted to take his word for it and wait till he was “ready.”I mean, a child needs parents, right?’ She asked herself, pushing the letters on the keyboard a little too hard.No matter what, that was no reason he'd leave her hanging like that on purpose. He should have called, texted back or showed up and told her all this crap.Him not showing up was even more painful. She hadn't even taken up her phone since yes

“I don't know where he is. Hasn't taken my calls either,” Colton had told her when she finally rang him that night. “Thought you both were supposed to be together tonight?”"Goodnight, Colton.” She ended the call without another word. Now it was morning, and warm sunlight slipped through the blinds, spilling across Jules’ face, forcing her eyes open. She sat up with a jolt, blinking. She didn’t even remember falling asleep—let alone being neatly tucked under the duvet. Her gaze shifted to the small clock on the table beside the bed. It was seven in the morning.“I’m sorry about yesterday.” Jules' eyes snapped up.Ethan stood by the doorway, one hand tucked in his pockets, the other holding a glass of wine—her glass of wine. His eyes were steady on her face, so casual and relaxed.Suddenly, everything came rushing back. Their anniversary, the constant calls and texts…his goddamn book. Her breath shook with that last part. But she hid it and frowned at him getting out of bed. She walke

In no time, she was in her bathrobe, and hopped into the bathroom where she made sure to soak herself long enough to give Ethan a little time. But as she shut her eyes in the warm water, Evie's face flashed in her head. Her eyes snapped open immediately. She frowned, and sat up, her face dripping wet.‘Why the hell would you even think of her?’ she scolded herself.‘Maybe it’s because of that tiny little reason you want another child… the one you won’t admit out loud’She ignored the voice in her head, and washed her body with the water.‘You want to use the baby to spit in Evie's face, don't you?’Jules poured the water on her face, completely shutting out her conscience. It didn't judge her when Evie spoke to her so rudely and got her involved in silly scandals. In a few minutes, she was out of the tub and fastened her robe around her waist. Then she stood in the mirror to stare at herself.‘You’re ready.’ she told herself, her fingers clutched around the small tube once more. Then

Jules glanced at the clock for the umpteenth time, even though she'd only been in her office for an hour. She wasn't tired or any of those sorts of things. She just couldn't wait to get back home. And even though she didn't show it, she was all smiles on the inside as she went through the records and files sitting in front of her.“I’ll be back as early as I can,” Ethan had whispered that morning, placing a soft kiss on her forehead before leaving for work. Now she smiled outwardly, her fingers working on the keyboard as she tried to focus on her work.Honestly, she didn't know why she felt so jittery. This wasn't the first time this was occurring. But something about this year felt different—deeper, and somehow she loved the feeling. Her phone buzzed on her table, and she turned to it with a slight frown.Mom.She took the call and placed it on speaker.l, her brows easing again.“Hi, Mom." She couldn't stop herself from smiling now. There was silence on the other end, then dramatical

The car shook and rattled as soft moans filled the quiet library's parking lot, earning awkward glances from the few people who came to the library with their vehicles.Luckily, the windows were deeply tinted, so it was impossible for them to see the smile on Cassie's face as she rode Colton in the driver's seat, bouncing on his cock like she was meant to be there. The faster she moved, the more she went red with Colton spanking her ass and moaning against her neck.He pulled her hair back as he neared climax.“Fuck." She moaned, her nails digging into his neck as she tightened around him. Then with one final deep thrust, he spilled inside her, his body rattling along with hers.Cassie leaned forward once more and took his lips in hers even as they were both panting, and he was still in her.“I love you so much,” he whispered as she pulled away, a teasing smirk tugging at her lips. She didn’t reply. Instead, she slipped off him and dropped into the passenger seat with a soft chuckle.
