Frost's POV

"Frost?" I heard Rya called my name from the side---soft, tender, cautious. She lowered herself as she tried to have a clear view of my face. I saw the uncertainty written in her eyes, the doubts that lingered heavily and slowly transformed into fear, evident in her shuddering breath.

I pulled myself up from the ground slowly, and sat on the ground. I didn't utter a word, at least not yet.

"How do you feel?" she asked me.

Again, I didn't give a response. My head was buried to the gr

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 251: The Usurper's Challenge

Rya's POVThere was a path leading to the SilverFang that was known only to me. I had discovered that route on one of my loneliest strolls around the pack, and did my best to keep it a secret even from Frost. And so the moment finally came when it fulfilled its purpose. I led the way while Oscar followed behind him. In his usual manner, he never uttered a word or asked a question as to how I knew this path. But I was very well aware that one of these days, he wouldn't hesitate to ask me, and I would be forced to spill the truth as pure as it could be. I finally got to see the truth in Oscar's words, the ones he spoke of the SilverFang not being the same as I had left it. I had not yet reached the Alphas's home, but the very sight of what my pack had become made my stomach turn in disgust.I could sparingly see people moving around in ease and comfort. There were posters on the walls, the kind that had a perfect sketches of Thorne with either warnings, or new tasks laws well carved

I didn't utter a word, at least not yet."How do you feel?" she asked me.Again, I didn't give a response. My head was buried to the ground, almost as though I was lost in my thoughts, when really, I was just... listening, trying to spot the difference between my present self and the times when I felt my father's presence still lingering."I feel..." I started, holding back my words for that confirmation. There were no strange sounds in my ears, or that picky feeling my skin constantly developed when I felt his presence around. It was just the regular sound of my heartbeat, and Rya's voice that was like music to my ears."I fe

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 249: I Chose Myself

Frost's POV"Oh my god, Frost!" Rya gasped the words at the very moment she saw me. I was still on the run, constantly looking backwards even when I ran forward, trying to ensure that none of the guards from the Lycan clan followed behind us.But my attention snapped when I felt a body rushing into mine, with hands wrapped around my neck with some form of familiarity and passion. It was that very moment I recognized her---Rya, my heartthrob. She breathed like one who was extremely nervous. Her hands journeyed around my body so passionately, to the extent that I felt just what she felt. I couldn't help but let out the heavy breath in my throat, and just... release myself to her.I threw my hands around her waist, and squeezed her tightly to myself."I've missed you so much, Rya," I whispered the words into her ears. She broke the hug and leaned backwards. She cupped my cheeks in her hands, and peered into my eyes. I could literally feel my eyes over me, her hands caressing my face a

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 248: Shadows In Chains

Frost's POVI wasn't a stranger to prison walls. In the days when understanding was an herculean feat to achieve between Rya and I, it was a constant event to find myself in and out of reeking dungeons. But this time was different... in a whole lot of ways.I was thrown behind bars in another man's land. This time, I was fully cloaked in the stigma of being a criminal. The guards stared at me like a common man, their eyes speaking of sheer hate and repugnance which was passed down to them by the man on the throne. Each one of them was a step away from throwing a spittle on my face. But what could I do othe than just watch? This place smelled of sweat, urine, vomit... and even blood. The air was hot and heavy, and the noise that filled the dungeon was ear blasting. Luckily for me, Alpha Aldric had the courtesy of separating me away from the rest of my crew, keeping me locked in what he termed as a special room. Still, it didn't erase the truth that I was prisoner.Elder Thorne had le

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 247: Three Pieces Of Me

Rya's POVWhen I said I was going to the Ashen Wastes, I didn't have a map with me, or even a tour guide to lead the way. Hell, I had not the slightest concern of what I was stepping into, or even the tiniest imagination of what this Shadow Maw looked like. I acted based on my instincts which were triggered by my emotions.I was just exhausted. Watching the very man whom my heart throbbed for suddenly became a shadow of himself, with peace slowly becoming a foreign term to him... it was a torturing experience. I couldn't keep up with the constant switch in alter egos and personalities. I was losing myself just a I was losing him, and that was a reality I didn't ever want to manifest.Sera and the other men followed behind me patiently. She didn't revolt or nag as it was in her usual nature... perhaps because she chose this path to follow. We journeyed around in circles, almost losing faith and hope in finding the Ashen Wastes. Not until something striking occurred. I took a step fur

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 246: A Throne Offered, A War Unleashed

Frost's POV Slowly, the car came to a rolling stop, and so did the others that followed behind us. I rushed out of the car immediately, a confused man who was in a ferocious battle with his innermost demons, breathing intensely as though I had run up a mountain. My legs wobbled on the heated ground, and in a fleeting moment, I dropped to my knees, clutching my chest tightly. My face was buried to the ground, and I could feel the sweat drops streaming down my face, falling upon the sands. My head tightened as I strained for balance. I grinned hard, feeling the weight increase as the seconds passed. And soon enough, my body collapsed on the sands, with my face turned towards the bright sky.I felt a certain kind of ease that came with just a deep exhale. The tightening sensation around my head ad chest was fading off, my heartbeat was slowly returning to its usual rhythm, and so was mu breathing. I sighted a figure that stood over me, ogling at me with hands dipped in his pockets and

Rya's POVI felt comfort at its best while I leaned on Frost. His body was warm, his hands were soft and tender, and his words were piercing yet soothing. Rya's POVI could hear Oscar's voice from my subconscious. It was the loudest in the room, the fiercest.
