I'll admit, at first, I hated her.

I hated Sienna's intensity, her possessiveness, the way she used her family's power to force me into the mate bond.

I thought I wanted an Omega like Chloe—pliant, gentle, and uncomplicated.

Someone who would bend to my will, not challenge it.

Someone who wouldn't force me to become a better man.

But the mate bond, decreed by the Moon Goddess, could not be denied.

And I had promised her mother I would protect her for life.

So no matter what she did to me, no matter how much I resisted it in my heart, I would always protect her with my life in a crisis.

It was my duty.
