Just like the first time

"How was work?" he asked her as he led her back into the living room.

"Fine, I guess. I've heard that the new project is going well," she answered as she followed behind him.

"Yeah. I haven't been home much, but I've been working pretty hard lately. It's finally come time for me to go back."

She nodded in understanding.

"Do you mind if I tag along? I want to see how it goes."

"Of course you can! You don't need to ask," he exclaimed eagerly.

She grinned at him before leaning forward and placing a soft kiss on his cheek. They both laughed softly as they settled themselves down on the couch to watch some tv.

It felt wonderful to have him back beside her. He was always there to protect her. No matter how many times she needed him, he'd always be there to help her.

It's been almost a month since the incident at the bar. Although they spent most of their time together, Max didn't really spend that much time with her. When he was free he spent most of his time with his friends.
