Chapter 44 – Marriage?

[Fiona’s POV]

I wake up late in the afternoon, with the day to myself. I have woken up once to see Heath go to work, go back to sleep, and wake up again in the afternoon.

It felt a bit good to not stress about work for the first two weeks, but it feels so depressing to stay home and do nothing.

I hear a soft knock on the door which is followed by another loud and aggressive knock. I can deduce who is at the door already because I hear Mrs. Green say.

“Selby don’t knock like that, poor Fiona must be resting,” she scolds in that soft and loving tone.

“Mom, welcome,” with a warm hug, we greeted each other.

“Wait till I tell you what dad did,” Selby says angrily.

“What did he do?” I asked. I ushered them in as I caught up with what had been happening while I was asleep.

“Come on stop exaggerating, your father would never do that,” Mrs. Green says, “he is probably getting to know them.”
