Ryker's POV

“And what’s that? The work?” Serena asked again.

I stood at the door, my hand still gripping the doorknob, feeling the weight of Serena's. The concern in her voice when she asked where I was going had caught me off guard, and for a moment, I had almost considered telling her the truth.

But how could I explain that I was going to kill someone? How could I tell her that I had to hunt down and execute a bloodburn, a werewolf who had committed the ultimate sin by killing and feeding on humans? It was my duty as Alpha, my responsibility to protect both our kind and the innocent humans who had no idea we existed. But it was also the part of my job that haunted me the most.

The silence stretched between us, and I could feel her eyes boring into my back, waiting for an answer I couldn't give her.

"What sort of work is it?" she asked again, her voice softer now but no less insistent.

I remained silent, my jaw clenched tight. There was no way to explain this without revealing the d

  • Curse of the Alpha demon   Feel good

RYKER'S POVI sat down quietly, resting my chin on my chin with my elbow leaning on my lap. I looked at Serena hearing her cold, heavy and accusing words saying I kidnapped her, I'd be lying if I said her words didn't hit hard but then i didn't refuse her words or retort back, I just chuckled at her words I didn't feel a bit hurt at her words not because I admit that I kidnapped, cause i know i didn't, but as long as she was here, right in front of me, safe and sound that's enough to make me happy.I studied her gaze quietly, her gaze was filled with disgust and hatred.Ignoring her gaze, my eyes roam on her studying, Her skin was pale, her cheeks fair but slightly flushed, Her hair fell over her shoulders, long and shiny. Remembering how she struggled to fight the pain, curling herself to become so small like she was trying to hold onto her child in the parking lot and then threw up that huge amount of blood flashed before my eyes...I sigh"Never mind that....." My voice was calm

  • Curse of the Alpha demon   Awake

SERENA POVI woke up with the feeling of warm arms brushing against my skin, the hands kept wiping my body with a soft towel, wiping every inch of my body clean with ease and care. My eyes fluttered slightly trying to adjust to the brightness of the room, finally opened my eyes I scanned the room silently, I scanned the room the walls then window which was slight opened with the curtains raised letting the sunlight, seeing the familiar yet unfamiliar room I sat upright with full force, my body overwhelmed with cautiousness. My heart raced as I wondered where I was. The woman beside me flinched in suprise by my sudden actions, she stayed frozen for a while before finally calming down, she looked at my face as she gave me a warm smile, she then went ahead and patted the back of my palm slightly, I understood her intention of trying to calm me down, she opened her mouth to speak " Relax your safe, you were unconscious when you were brought in" she said. I looked at her soft and warm

  • Curse of the Alpha demon   Afraid

RYKER’S POVI wanted to move closer to Serena, but something in her face made me stop. Her expression had changed completely. She looked like she was in terrible pain, and I could see danger in her eyes. Something was wrong, very wrong.I took a step back to give her the space she had asked for, but as I moved away, I noticed that she was trying to hold something back. Her hands were pressed against her stomach, and her whole body was trembling. My heart started racing. Was she hurt? Was someone attacking her? I looked around quickly to see if there was any danger nearby, but we were alone on this empty road.In that moment, I made a decision. I had to help her, even if she didn’t want me near her. I could see that she was suffering, and I couldn’t just stand there and watch.I moved forward quickly, ignoring her earlier warning to stay away. As I got closer, I could see that Serena was shaking so badly that she could barely stand up. Her skin looked pale and sweaty, and she was makin

  • Curse of the Alpha demon   Don’t come closer

SERENA’S POVI walked away from the bus stop, trying to put as much distance as possible between myself and Ryker. But I could hear his footsteps following behind me, steady and determined. He wasn’t giving up.My mind was racing as I walked. Should I go back to Lucan’s palace? The thought made me feel sick. After everything Adrian had told me, after learning the truth about what Lucan was doing to me, I couldn’t face going back there. But I also couldn’t keep running forever. I had nowhere to go, no one to turn to. I was completely alone in this world. As I walked down the empty street, I made a decision. I was done being used by people. I was done being lied to and manipulated. I was done letting men control my life and make decisions for me.Lucan had forced me to drink his blood, knowing it would kill my babies. He had pretended to care about me while slowly destroying everything I had left. He was just as much of a monster as Ryker. And Ryker… Ryker had killed my father. He had t

  • Curse of the Alpha demon   It has to be her

RYKER’S POVIsabella’s question stopped me in my tracks. She was right to ask. I had no plan, no idea where to begin looking for Serena. But I couldn’t let that stop me.I paused and thought about her question for a moment. Then I looked back at Isabella with determination in my eyes.“I’ll just have to trust my instinct and the bond I still feel for Serena,” I said.Isabella’s face showed a mix of frustration and disbelief. “A bond? Ryker, she’s married to someone else. Whatever bond you think you have with her is probably gone by now.”I shook my head. “You’re wrong. I can still feel her sometimes. The connection is still there, even if it’s weak.”“That’s just wishful thinking.”“Maybe. But it’s all I have right now.”I turned and walked toward the door again, but I could hear Isabella behind me getting more upset.“This is insane, Ryker!” she called out. “You’re chasing after a woman who doesn’t want you!”I didn’t stop walking. I couldn’t afford to waste any more time arguing wit

  • Curse of the Alpha demon   Look for her

RYKER’S POVI was still asleep when my phone started ringing loudly next to my bed. The sound cut through my dreams and pulled me back to reality. I reached for the phone without opening my eyes, hoping whoever was calling had a good reason for waking me up this early.“Hello?” I said, my voice still thick with sleep.“Ryker, you need to listen to me carefully,” Alec’s voice came through the phone. He sounded urgent and excited at the same time.I sat up in bed, suddenly wide awake. “What’s going on?”“Serena is missing. She’s gone from Lucan’s palace.”My heart stopped beating for a moment. “What do you mean she’s missing?”“I mean she’s not there anymore. All of Lucan’s guards are desperately searching for her. They’re running around like crazy people trying to find her.”I jumped out of bed and started looking for my clothes. “How do you know this? How sure are you?” I asked hurriedly. “I’m certain, Ryker. I saw it with my own eyes. I’ve been watching the palace like we agreed, an
