SELVARA’S POV

I walked up to the cracked mirror that hung on the wall of my chamber in the dungeon. My reflection was pale, almost ghostlike, but I forced a smile anyway. Tonight, I wanted to look decent. Tonight, I wanted to please Zyros. The thought made my stomach twist as I had been waiting for this night for forever.

I carefully smoothed the dress I had chosen. It had to look good, and I had done everything to make it so. It was simple but neat. It made me look softer, almost normal, of which I was not. For one moment, I let myself imagine that Zyros would look at me and see more than just a cursed omega. As... as his Luna.

My eyes went to the tray of wine I had placed on the table. My hands trembled as I picked it up, the glass crinkling slightly as they hit each other. And with one last glance in the mirror, and a shaky smile, I left the room and walked to Zyros’s chamber.
