Selvara's POV

I raised the blade and everyone watched in silence. Elder Thorne knelt before me with his hands chained behind his back and I could see blood dripping from cuts on his face.

"Do it quickly," he said softly. "I am ready." My hand shook and the blade felt really impossibly heavy.

"What are you waiting for?" Mordain called out. "He is a traitor. He chose the Moonfang Pack over his own blood." He added

"He chose what was right," I said.

"Right?" Mordain laughed. "There is no right or wrong. Only power and weakness, now prove you understand that."

I looked down at Thorne and he met my eyes and nodded once. "I understand," he whispered. "Save yourself."

I lifted the blade higher and the entire Eclipse Pack held their breath. Then I spun around and lunged at Mordain instead. The blade moved fast toward his throat but he was faster. His hand shot out and caught my wrist before the blade could connect.
