I felt him stiffen and a I was like dreaming when I saw his tears running down his face. He cried again. They said vampires were heartless, I’m sure none of it was true.

“I’m sorry,” he said and quickly wiped his tears.

“Don’t feel sorry.”

“I just…just want everything to be perfect for you.” His eyes have never been this hopeless. I would rather see coldness in his eyes than this, I could feel his pain.

“Maybe… it would be impossible to create a haven for an angel here in hell with me.” I shook my head and touched his face.

“No, don’t say that.”

“Maybe you can’t be here with me, I thought I could do everything for you.” He looked away and that was when my tears fell.

“No—” He pushed me away and my shoulder fell looking at him.

“Look at me! Look at me, Velle. I am evil.”

“Then where do you think I belong?” He looked at me again.

“I don’t know,” he whispered.

“You don’t want to do this anymore?” I asked and he shook his head.
