Rebecca

Soft gold spilled across the floor like a silent invitation as the morning light slowly seeped through the gaps in my room's curtains. I hadn't gotten much sleep. My body had remained motionless, but my mind had processed everything—memories, struggles, anxieties, and the acute taste of resolve.

The pendant seemed steady and reassuring as it lay on my breast. The heat in my veins became hotter each time I touched it. I had no fear of what lay ahead. At least not now. I felt like I could deal with anything.

With my arms crossed, I stood at the window and gazed out at the forest outside the pack's boundaries. The company my father had stolen and perverted was somewhere out there, beyond the hills and the roads I hadn't been on in a long time. My heritage. My load. My future.

Behind me, I heard the door quietly open. I recognized the soft footsteps better than my own.

"Did you get any sleep at all?" John's voice sounded scratchy and low from lack of use.

A small smile tugged at

RebeccaI yelled, "I don't want any of this." "I simply want to return home." "Home?" The leader moved in my direction once more. Are you referring to the wolves? You don't belong there; that was never your home."I do.""When they discover who you are, do you think they would still want you?"Her comments were like a knife cutting through me. "They already do," I murmured, my voice cracking. "They have done so for years.""Because you've concealed yourself," she retorted. "Because you learned to hide from her."I detested the fact that she was correct. I detested the ease with which her remarks broke through the barriers of denial I had put up around myself. I was aware that the wolf realm was not where I belonged. An omega with a whore aura and no wolves. I was ridiculed, beaten, and mocked. However, it was in the past. I didn't have a place to call home before. prior to my discovery of John. Now all I wanted to do was return to him.I muttered, "Take me back." "Please."For a lo

Rebecca"Destiny?" With a stronger tone than I intended, I repeated. "You keep saying that as if it should have some significance for me."The leader's face remained expressionless. "Because it ought to."I stepped back nervously. "You've got the incorrect person." I promise that I am not whoever or whatever you believe I am destined to be.The leader's tone was almost pitying as she cocked her head slightly. You reject who you are because you were raised blind by those foolish beasts. because the truth was concealed from you by your mother. My heart faltered. "Why do you constantly bring up my mom?" I forcefully gulped. "Did you know her?"From the right, another witch said, "We did more than know her," in a low, sharp voice. She was among us. Before she betrayed her species out of love, she was one of the Circle's strongest members. The group was filled with a deep, judgmental hum.The commander yelled, "Watch your tongue," without looking back. She never took her eyes from mine. "Y

  • Cursed Luna   The Alpha

JohnAfter gathering the scouts, we headed into the forest. Charles accompanied me on the ride, offering consoling words when he could. However, it was ineffective. Seeing her face was the only thing that would be beneficial. If only I had her back. I could then relax.Vega led the way, riding ahead of us. I had told her she could rest, but she had insisted on going with us.A part of me became enraged and blamed her for everything, even though her only responsibility was to keep Rebecca safe. And she made a mess of it. However, the more sensible part of me saw that it wasn't her fault; she was hurt and unable to fight effectively, and she took responsibility rather than offering an explanation. I sent her with Rebecca because I knew she wouldn't endanger Rebecca. However, it was insufficient to make up for the emptiness I felt. I required Rebecca's return. At the base of the woodland, we paused and entered. It was too quiet. Not even the typical sounds of far-off birds were audible.

  • Cursed Luna   Rebecca's pov

RebeccaI could see the darkness everywhere I looked. The cold was the next sensation I experienced. The air burnt like smoke when I attempted to breathe. My body seemed suspended and weightless, as though gravity had not yet determined my place in the universe. Then I suddenly collapsed.I was knocked out of my lungs by the force of the crash. Something solid struck my back; it was smooth as stone but had a slight pulse of warmth. I rolled onto my side, gasping, and clawed at the weird, shimmering ground as I coughed.Where had I been?Everything appeared to be... incorrect. The sky above me was streaked with silver and violet; there was no sun or moon, only a dimly glowing whirling mist. Shapes appeared to move where none existed as the air shimmered like a mirage. With my head hammering, I gently forced myself to stand up. Strange marks engraved onto the stone under me were touched by my palms; they were symbols that gently pulsed as though they were alive. Upon closer inspection,

JohnMy workstation was illuminated by the morning light streaming in through my office windows. There were reports of trade routes, border patrols, and council communications strewn all over the place, but I wasn't actually seeing any of it. I was thinking about something else.Rebecca was on my mind all the time. Where had she gone?I had been counting down the days since she departed, and she had vowed to come back after the trial. Without her, the house didn't feel right. It was too empty, too hollow, and too quiet. A voice called out from the doorway, "Alpha." Charles. According to the scouts, the eastern boundaries are unambiguous. There were no strange motions found.I signed the document in front of me and replied absently, "Good.""Is there anything more you would like me to look into?" From the entryway, he spoke.I started to say, "No," but stopped myself. "Are you aware of the typical duration of trials?" My brow furrowed as I asked."Until they provide a decision, I'm no

  • Cursed Luna   Her face

Rebecca There was a subtle scent of disinfectant and herbs in the hospital hallways. Clara accompanied me on our walk to Vega's room. When I saw her through the open door, my chest constricted. Her hair was unkempt, her arm was bandaged, and she was sitting erect on the bed. "Rebecca," she said softly in a whisper. Despite the tightness in my throat, I grinned. "Hey, you obstinate wolf. At last, you made the decision to awaken. "Well, I couldn't sleep indefinitely." She replied. Clara gave me a quick look. "Go ahead. Inform her. Vega scowled slightly. "What can you tell me?" I moved in closer till I was at her bedside. "We prevailed," I muttered. Her eyes grew wide. “What?” From behind me, Clara murmured, "The trial." It's finished. Jake was given a life sentence without the possibility of release. Additionally, Kate has also been arrested. Vega blinked quickly as the words registered. "Oh, and I thought your dad would be dead by now. If I ever saw him, I'd be glad he's i
