"You're not by yourself."

I froze and looked around, but I couldn't find anything. It sounded like a voice I had heard before. A sense of familiarity.

"Who is present?" I inquired. My voice sounded little and broken. It sounded so feeble, and I detested it.

This time, the voice was weaker and sounded like a tiny breath in my ear. "Follow the light when the moon rises."

Then it dawned on me. My mother's voice was just like that.

Was she the one? Was she here to save me?

It wasn't a delusion. It isn't possible. My throat constricted.

"Mom?"

The voice did not respond, but the air was filled with a faint tremor. I raised my head. And the tiniest stream of silver light entered through a gap in the ceiling. Moonlight.

Something inside of me changed when the light touched me.

It started off as a dull pain beneath my skin. The pain then extended to my entire body, including my bones and chest. In my ears, the sound shifted. The volume was higher. more acute.

John His words sank into my stomach, and for a split second, everything in me stopped. Then followed the electrifying, unadulterated wrath.I threw Kai upon the table with such force that it trembled. "You are not allowed to mention her name!" I pinned him down with a shout."John!" I ignored Charles's attempts to bring me back. I leaned down, my voice low and driven by my wolf, my claws tearing through the edge of the table. "Tell me their location. Where did they take her, please?Fear flared in Kai's eyes. "You wouldn't get to her in time even if I did." Then an intense expression took over his face. "You believe the rules of the worlds may be broken by your fury? Do you believe that what has already been written can be changed by your love?I hardly heard what Charles was yelling as he tried to yank me away from him. At that moment, I could have ended it by crushing him. However, I suddenly felt as though my skull was splitting in two due to a severe ringing in my ears.Holding t

  • Cursed Luna   Rebecca and John

JohnCharles and I headed for the pack house's far end. Prisoners we couldn't afford to keep in the cells had always been housed in the cabins there. They were either too significant, too hazardous, or too unstable. Kai was a good fit for all three.Situated deep into the forest, his hut was the final one.I didn't even try to knock. The door creaked open as I clicked the lock, and I entered. There was only one lamp on the table, and the cottage was dark. It was an easy place. A chair, a wooden floor, and an unused bookshelf. Kai, who was seated at the far end, had an extremely carefree stance for someone who was being watched. When we walked in, he raised his head, and a tiny smile appeared on his lips. "Alpha John." What do I owe this pleasure to? You remembered me at last?Charles closed the door after us. I didn't respond. I looked around the room and saw that the walls had runes engraved into them for protection. It appeared to be a haven."You've been at ease," I remarked icily.

  • Cursed Luna   Rebecca's pov

RebeccaWhen I woke up, my eyelids ached. I had no idea how long I had been unconscious, but the environment had changed during that time. The circle had vanished, to be replaced by a candlelit stone chamber. All of the witches were gathered around me. The leader moved to the front. She whispered, "Welcome back, child." "Your first lesson is about to begin."I had a dry throat. "Lesson?"Two witches approached with a bowl of a black, foul-smelling liquid in it. "What's that?" With a raspy voice, I asked. One of them said, "Memory ink." "Some parts of your recollection are missing.""Fragments that was kept captive by that bracelet and..." the commander interrupted forcefully. Her following comments seemed too much for her to speak, as seen by the slight pause and unreadable expression on her face."Your wolf." At last, she spoke, her voice brimming with resentment.By that, what did she mean?"Wolf?" My voice was full of incredulity as I spoke. "You don't know what you're talking ab

  • Cursed Luna   My voice

John We went back to the pack house after the forest hunt. I immediately withdrew into the archives to conduct additional investigation. I had to learn more about the witches. I didn't know as much about them as I would have liked. If they were able to enter our world. I had to locate it. The faint crackling of the torches was the only sound in the ancient archives. The air was heavy with the smell of dust and parchment paper. Hours earlier, I had ordered everyone to bed, but I had no intention of resting. Not with her gone. I pulled another leather-bound scroll across the table and opened it to see what was inside. It contained references to witchcraft. Exactly what I needed. "Are you still awake?" From behind me, I heard Charles's gentle but worried voice. I didn't turn. "I can't afford the luxury of sleep." His boots made a tiny sound on the floor as he took a step closer. At last, Vega is sleeping. Nothing new has been discovered by the scouts. At daybreak, they will beg

  • Cursed Luna   Take me back

RebeccaI yelled, "I don't want any of this." "I simply want to return home." "Home?" The leader moved in my direction once more. Are you referring to the wolves? You don't belong there; that was never your home."I do.""When they discover who you are, do you think they would still want you?"Her comments were like a knife cutting through me. "They already do," I murmured, my voice cracking. "They have done so for years.""Because you've concealed yourself," she retorted. "Because you learned to hide from her."I detested the fact that she was correct. I detested the ease with which her remarks broke through the barriers of denial I had put up around myself. I was aware that the wolf realm was not where I belonged. An omega with a whore aura and no wolves. I was ridiculed, beaten, and mocked. However, it was in the past. I didn't have a place to call home before. prior to my discovery of John. Now all I wanted to do was return to him.I muttered, "Take me back." "Please."For a lo
