Author’s POV
Amelia got changed after the hectic day at work. Drasa was supposed to help, but she just ran away, leaving only her to handle all the business.
She felt frustrated, but she knew Drasa ran away because she felt overwhelmed by everything, and she couldn’t blame her for that.
She did scare herself sometimes.
She walked to the nearby bus stop where she planned on meeting Elara so she could pay her balance, then she’d send the picture to her.
She sat on the bench arranged by the roadside and began editing the picture until she heard a voice behind her, which she thought would be Elara. But when she raised her head, she was met with Sophia, the only person she didn’t want to see for now, but she didn’t seem to care.
“How can I help you?” she murmured, her attention still on her screen.
“Is that what you’re going to say after ruining my life?” Sophia bit her bottom lip, holding herself back from crying.
Amelia seemed frustrated by what she said, and she was forced to stand up, placing one of her hands inside her joggers’ pocket. She focused her whole attention on Sophia, holding herself back from yelling at her.
“Let me get this straight, Sophia.” She took a step forward. “I’m not the one who ruined your life. You should blame your cheating boyfriend for that!” she later yelled. She brushed her hair back with her fingers.
“But how could you? I thought you were my friend?”
“Of course I am your friend, but when it comes to money, I don’t really mind breaking friendships.” She smiled. “Come on, Sophia! You would’ve done the same, wouldn’t you? I know you well enough.”
“I can, but not to you.” Tears slid down Sophia’s eyes. “I mean, we’ve been friends for over five years! How can you do such a thing to someone you fucking called your best friend?”
“I don’t care!” Amelia’s voice was sharp, shocking Sophia for a brief moment. “All I know is I was paid to do what I did, and I don’t think I regret that.” She raised her phone up. “After successfully setting you up, I was able to get these three cameras.”
Sophia’s eyes shifted to the phone, and she tried to snatch it, but Amelia took a step back. The impact sent Sophia crashing to the floor, and she collapsed immediately.
“I don’t know if you’re sleeping or maybe you fainted… perhaps if you’ve died, wave a ‘Hi’ to both my parents.”
She turned to leave, but before she could take a step, another voice stopped her. She veered around to see Elara standing a few feet away, her gaze shifting between Sophia and Amelia.
“What happened to her?” Elara asked.
“Is that your business?” Amelia raised an eyebrow, but Elara remained quiet. “If you came here because of her—” her eyes trailed down to Sophia, who was lying on the floor, “then sort it out with her.”
She wanted to leave, but Elara stopped her.
“Of course I’m not here for her.” She dug her hand into her pocket and brought out an envelope, which she stretched toward Amelia.
Amelia stared at it for a while before snatching it. She took a look at the money before putting it inside her bag.
“Cool, turn on your Airdrop.” She smiled at her, bringing out her phone, and Elara did the same.
“You know, sometimes you do scare me. I mean, there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for money,” Elara muttered, still pressing her phone, unable to see the dead look on Amelia’s face.
“Just so you know, I don’t mind killing you here. If it leads to prison, then so be it. I’ll have peace of mind if I witness your funeral.”
Elara was shocked, forced to raise her head. She smiled awkwardly.
Amelia transferred the picture to her.
“Done. We shouldn’t meet again.”
She walked away, took a few steps before Elara called her back.
“Wait, why is her face shown and her hair colored green?” She took a step forward. “I mean, what’s the essence of taking the picture when her face is blurry, and the only thing that can point to her identity was her hair, then you colored it?”
Amelia was forced to turn to her and folded her arms across her chest.
“I need your help. It involves huge money, and all I want you to do is take a picture of Drasa serving the bald man,” Amelia muttered. “That was exactly what you told me. You didn’t give me instructions like, ‘let her face be shown’ or ‘I want her hair to be exactly as it is.’”
“Huh?” Elara asked in disbelief.
“I just explained what you told me, and I followed it strictly. I don’t like going against my clients.” Amelia smiled.
“Are you… are you making sense to yourself?” Elara asked. “I mean, does this make sense to you?” She showed the picture to Amelia.
“I took the picture. There’s no need to show me. I did exactly what you wanted.”
Elara wanted to reply, but before she could, her phone rang. She hesitated before sliding the green button. She went quiet for a while, then her eyes widened.
The phone went off. Elara was clearly in rage.
“You stopped the man? From touching Drasa?”
“I mean, you never paid me for not interfering in their encounter. Drasa is an employee where I work. I can’t just let anyone molest her… unless you pay for it.” She smiled widely.
“Are you crazy?” Elara asked, and Amelia moved closer to her, leaving just a space between them.
“I’m not crazy, but I can go wild if you step on my tail.” Her gaze was hard. She pressed her mouth to Elara’s ear. “As I told you earlier, I can kill you then go to prison. I will be thrilled, as long as I witness your funeral.”
Cassian's POVI hadn't planned on coming to this party at all. When Kai first mentioned it, I'd given him some noncommittal response about maybe showing up later if I felt like it.But then my phone buzzed with a message from Kai, and everything changed. The photo he'd sent made me stop dead in my tracks. It was Drasa, but not the Drasa I was used to seeing around campus. This version of her was transformed, her silver hair was intricately braided in a style that looked almost ethereal, and she was wearing something that actually showed off her body. She looked absolutely stunning. More than stunning."Fuck," I muttered under my breath, staring at the photo for longer than I probably should have. Before I even realized what I was doing, I was grabbing my swim shorts and heading out the door.I didn't even remember the drive to the party. One minute I was looking at Kai's message, and the next I was walking into the pool area, scanning the crowd for silver hair and that face that had
Drasa's POVThe pool party was in full swing now, with music pumping and people laughing as they splashed around in the crystal-clear water. Maya had been persistent about getting me to actually swim instead of just sitting on the edge like a wallflower."Come on, Drasa!" she called out, already waist-deep in the water. "You can't come to a pool party and not get in the pool. That's like going to a restaurant and not eating!"I was still feeling self-conscious about everything, my hair, my outfit, the earlier confrontation with Elara but Maya's enthusiasm was infectious. Reluctantly, I slipped into the water, the cool temperature immediately making me feel more relaxed than I had all evening."See? Isn't this better?" Maya grinned, splashing me playfully. Before I could answer, one of the servers approached the edge of the pool with a tray of colorful drinks. The glasses were tall and decorated with little umbrellas and fruit garnishes, clearly some kind of cocktail."Ladies?" the ser
Writer's POVElara's eyes lit up with recognition as she took in Amelia's nearly naked form. A slow, calculated smile spread across her face. "Amelia!" she exclaimed, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. "I didn't expect to see you here. You look... well, you certainly know how to make an entrance."Amelia tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable as she looked Elara up and down with deliberate slowness. The crowd around them seemed to hold its collective breath, sensing something was about to happen."Thank you," Amelia replied smoothly. "I have to say, that's quite an outfit you're wearing. Very... fashionable."Elara practically glowed at what she interpreted as a compliment, her confidence surging. She did a little turn, showing off her designer bikini, clearly feeling like she was winning some kind of invisible competition."This old thing?" Elara said with false modesty, running her hands over the expensive fabric. "It's just a little something I picked up. Designe
Drasa's POVI looked up to see Kai holding the microphone, his eyes wide with what looked like genuine surprise as he took in my transformation. The spotlight from the stage area seemed to follow his gaze, illuminating me like I was some kind of exhibit on display. Maya's hand immediately found mine, her fingers warm and reassuring as they interlaced with my own. She could sense my growing panic, the way my breathing was becoming shallow and rapid. Without hesitation, she raised her voice loud enough for everyone in the immediate area to hear."Hey, Kai! Continue with the program and stop eating Drasa with your eyes!" she called out boldly, her tone carrying both authority and protectiveness. "Give the girl some space to breathe!"I felt a surge of gratitude toward Maya that was almost overwhelming. Here was someone who barely knew me, standing up for me in front of a crowd of people, refusing to let me be turned into some kind of spectacle. Her boldness in that moment made me feel l
Drasa's POVThe moment I agreed to go, panic set in. I stood still staring at my pathetic excuse for a wardrobe, suddenly regretting every life choice that had led me to this moment."Okay, what should I wear?" I asked, pulling open my tiny closet with all the enthusiasm of someone approaching their own execution.I grabbed the first things I saw, a pair of baggy cargo pants that were probably two sizes too big and an oversized hoodie that could double as a tent. They were comfortable, safe, and most importantly, they covered every part of my body.My roommate took one look at my outfit choice and burst into laughter."Oh my God, no!" she gasped between giggles. "You cannot, and I mean cannot…. wear that to a pool party. You look like you're about to go camping, not socialize with actual human beings."I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment. "This is what I have," I mumbled, clutching the clothes to my chest like armor. "I don't really have party clothes.""That's not party clothes,
Drasa’s POV I dragged my exhausted ass back to the hostel after telling Cassian exactly where he could shove his party invitation. The audacity of that guy thinking he could just declare me his "girlfriend" after calling me a slut and expect me to play along like some kind of accessory."Fuck off, Cassian. I'm not following you anywhere," I'd snapped at him, and even when he got that stubborn look on his face the one that probably worked on other girls I made myself crystal clear. I wasn't interested in being anyone's fake girlfriend, especially not his.By the time I made it back to my dorm room, it was already evening and I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. Thankfully, my roommate wasn't there. I didn't have the energy for small talk or explanations about why I looked like death warmed over.I collapsed onto my bed, finally allowing myself to process the morning's chaos. Just as I was settling into the quiet, my phone started ringing."Hello?" I answered groggily."Drasa, it's Ame
