Silas’s POV

“Enough,” I said.

Neither of them listened.

Lorcan twisted his arm free and shoved Rafe backward. Rafe caught his balance, but instead of stepping away, he drove his fist into Lorcan’s jaw. The sound of the impact was sharp in the confined room. Lorcan staggered half a step. His hand went to his mouth, and when he looked at the blood on his fingers, his expression changed.

He lunged.

Rafe ducked the first blow, drove his shoulder into Lorcan’s chest, and sent him crashing into the t

Kairos’s POVThe growling outside the cave grew louder, and I shifted my weight carefully, trying to get my injured shoulder beneath control.“Stay behind me, Elara.”She glanced at my shoulder. “But you're hurt.”“I know.”“You can barely stand.”I turned to look at her. Even with her clothes soaked and her hair clinging to her face, she was still watching me with those wide, uncertain eyes. The faint scent of her reached me, and Klyrax stirred immediately. She's close.I felt the familiar warmth spread through my chest. My wolf had been restless since the moment I regained consciousness, and having Elara this close was making it worse. I tried to ignore him, but the pull between us was difficult to dismiss.Move closer to her, Klyrax urged.I clenched my jaw. Not now.Another growl came from the entrance.A large feral dog appeared between the rocks. Its coat was dirty and wet, and its ribs showed beneath its fur. It stopped when it saw us, lowered its head and bared its teeth. I no

  • Cursed to Mate Seven God Alphas   Chapter 33: The Cave

Elara’s POVThe first thing I noticed was the pain in my shoulder. It was a dull, uncomfortable ache that made it difficult to move. My clothes were still wet, and the cold had settled deep into my body. I tried to open my eyes, but the darkness around me made it difficult to tell whether I was awake or still dreaming.I pushed myself up too quickly and immediately regretted it. My head throbbed, and I had to steady myself against the damp cave wall while I tried to understand where I was.I was still inside the cave. For a moment, I couldn't remember how long I had been unconscious. Water dripped from the ceiling, and the entrance was only a faint patch of grey beyond the darkness. Then I noticed someone sitting against the opposite wall.My breath caught.Kairos Vale.He was leaning back against the rocks, his head slightly lowered. One arm rested across his stomach, while the other hung loosely beside him. His shirt was torn near the shoulder, and there was blood running down his a

Lila’s POV“What do you want to ask me?” I felt my breath shudder but tried to stay in control. I had to be in control of this entire situation. They knew well how to smell your fear and were masters of using it against you.I knew that much about the Seven.“Do you remember what your father promised me?”I frowned. “What are you talking about?”“Harlan Blackthorn. Your father.” His mouth twisted. “He offered me a woman. A mate. Someone he claimed would be worth the trouble of securing.”I felt my stomach tighten. I knew nothing about what he was saying. What in the world was he talking about? What had my father done?“Why are you telling me this?”“Because I have been wondering whether you understand just how little you are worth outside the arrangement he made.”My face warmed. “I'm not sure what you're trying to say.”He stepped closer. “Don't play stupid with me, Lila. Your father put your name forward as though I should be grateful to have you.”I stared at him.“He never told me

  • Cursed to Mate Seven God Alphas   Chapter 31: The One Who Returned

Lila’s POVBy the time I arrived at the classroom the following morning, the entire academy was in an uproar.Elara Blackthorn was missing!“She wasn't in her cell this morning,” Persene said as I approached our usual seats. “My cousin works with the security team. She said the guards found the door open.”“What do you mean, open?”Persene glanced at Mara before lowering her voice. “Apparently, Elara is missing.”Mara leaned forward. “The Elders told everyone she had been moved for further examination, but nobody seems to know where they took her. Professor Blackthorne was asking questions around the holding cells earlier.”I kept my expression neutral and pulled out my chair.“Maybe they finally decided what to do with her.”“You don't think she's been expelled, do you?” Mara asked.“I have no idea.”It was important that I sounded uninterested. I couldn't afford to let them notice how much I wanted to know whether Elara had managed to get away. If anyone discovered that I had visite

  • Cursed to Mate Seven God Alphas   Chapter 30: Run, Elara, Run

Elara’s POVThe corridor was empty. A lantern burned near the security desk at the far end, but nobody stood beneath it. I stepped outside and listened, barely breathing.Nothing.One of the guards lay just by the door, fast asleep. Even from where I stood, I could tell he was too deep in his slumber for some reason I could not understand. And the other guard… he was nowhere to be found.I didn't know why the guard had left the door unlocked. I didn't stop to think about it. I moved quickly toward the narrow passage that led to the service stairwell, keeping close to the wall whenever I heard a sound. At the bottom of the stairs, I found a side exit used by the staff who brought supplies into the holding area. It opened onto a small courtyard behind the main academy buildings.I slipped through it and pulled the door shut behind me.The night air was cold against my face. Clouds covered most of the sky, leaving only a faint strip of moonlight between them. Beyond the courtyard wall, t

  • Cursed to Mate Seven God Alphas   Chapter 29: No Other Way

Elara’s POVI couldn't stop thinking about Lila's words. They’re going to kill you. What exactly had I done to deserve this? I never hurt anyone. I couldn’t even hurt a fly. I was just a nobody, a commoner, an ordinary human girl.I sat on the edge of my cot long after she had left, staring at the floor while I tried to understand what she had told me. I wanted to believe that she was wrong. The Elders had questioned me, tested me, and kept me locked in a cell, but none of them had said they intended to kill me.Still, I remembered the way Professor Blackthorne had watched me during the tests. I remembered the strange glow of the stone beneath my hand and the expressions on the Elders' faces when they saw it happen. They didn't understand what I was.Neither did I.And if Lila was telling the truth, that uncertainty had become dangerous.I drew my knees closer and pressed my hands against them. The holding cell seemed smaller than it had earlier. Every sound outside the door made me l
