Night fell quickly, and they were yet to reach their destination; instead, Lucian stopped by a large tree and shifted back into his human form while Emberlynn watched him with piqued interest.

They were deep in the forest. She didn't recognize where exactly, and she knew it wasn't Damien's territory.

They had traveled far too long to still be in it.

Also, the absence of oak trees made her relax a bit because the presence of one could only signify she was still around Damien's pack house, and he had warned them about leaving, or else he'd kill both of them.
