The next morning, school felt like a battlefield I wasn’t prepared for. My body was in the building, but my mind? It was still stuck on Levi, his bruised knuckles, the way he brushed past me like I was nothing more than air.

I tried shaking it off, reminding myself I was here for classes, not to get distracted by the infuriating mystery that was my stepbrother.
