She wiped the tears off her cheek as she heard movements outside the dungeon. It was quite dark and only the lights in front of the dungeon gates lit up the passageway.
Standing up from the cold rough floor, she walked to the metal gates, roving her eyes around the passageway. Just then, his broad figure appeared in front of her, wearing a black hoodie and black shorts. “Ryan,” she cried almost immediately as he took the hood off his head. “Sam,” he called sympathetically as he touched the metal gate. “I..I thought you left,” she burst out emotionally. “I tried to, but I couldn't leave you here. Sam, I need to break you out of here. You need to be free, I can help you escape out of here,” he offered with enthusiasm. “It would pose a big risk to you and I. I have nowhere to go, no family of my own. If I escape, your family will come after me, they'll find me with their last breath,” she panicked as she looked deep into his eyes. “I'll protect you.. I'll keep you safe away from them. We'll go somewhere far away from this place,” he emphasized. “I..I can't,” she cried and wiped the tears that escaped her cheek. He slammed his fist angrily on the gate. “Why are you proving obstinate, uhh? Or is there something keeping you here?!” He voiced out angrily. She moved backwards as she saw his eyes filled with aggression. “Sam, is there something I need to know about you?” He asked curiously as he looked into her eyes deeply. Just then, movements were heard and he dashed away immediately. She hurried back into the room and sat on the floor, turning her back to the metal gate. “Hey,” she heard the masculine voice of one of the guards. She remained silent and tucked her rough hair behind her ears. “Your attention is needed,” he said as he opened the gate. She stood up from the floor immediately and walked out of the room. Two guards were waiting beside the dungeon gate and she walked alongside them as they led her out of the dungeon. Ryan hid behind the dungeon walls, watching them lead Samantha back into the building. He followed behind slowly, curious of what would happen next. ** She was led into Ryker's bedroom where she could see Mrs Clyde, sitting beside Ryker on the long black couch. She was made to stand in the middle of the room and the bodyguards left. “A doctor will be here soon, I want you to take your bath and dress up properly. He'll be here to run a test on your infection, let's see what we can do about it,” Mrs Clyde said. Samantha knelt immediately and her face broke into a smile. “Thank you ma'am, thank you so much,” she said with joy. “Do as she had said,” Ryker ordered with a stern voice. She stood up immediately and Mrs Clyde sent in a maid who aided in helping her bath. She was offered a good meal, after which, she dressed up in a white silky nightie and sat on the bed. She could see Ryker and his mom discussing in low tone, after which, the doctor came in. He was a fair skinned middle-aged man, dressed in a doctor's coat. He had a brief discussion with Mrs Clyde and Ryker before turning his attention to Samantha who was sitting on the bed. “Shall we?” He asked with a warm smile on his face as he walked to the bed. She nodded and laid her back flat on the bed. “You can leave, we'll send for you when we need you,” Mrs Clyde said to Samantha as soon as the doctor was through. She stood up and walked out of the room while adjusting her dress. As she stepped out, she bumped into Ryan who was eavesdropping at the door. She tried to exclaim but he hushed her and pulled her away from the door. He dragged her into a quiet passage and pushed her to the wall. “What did the doctor do with you?” He asked, his face only a few inches away from her. “He..he did a test. Mother says it was about my infection, I think I'm getting a cure soon,” she said with a smile. “Come off it, nothing good ever comes out of these people. I know my family too well,” he said. She kept silent and stared at him in stupefaction. “What do you think is going on?” She asked seriously. “I believe they're using you, my family is up to something and I believe it's of no good,” he said anxiously as he paced to and fro in front of her. “You're overthinking,” she said, staring at the side of his face. “I need to find out, I believe there is something I need to know,” he said thoughtfully as he turned to look at her. For a moment, he got lost, seeing how beautiful she looked in her nightie. She had freshened up and smells so good tonight. Her hazel eyes hit up at his eyes and they both stared at each other for a moment. Memories of the other night filled his brain and he gulped, racing his eyes to her red lips. Seeing how he gawked over her body, she looked away awkwardly and turned her back towards him. “Are..are you leaving?” He managed to ask. “They might send for me at any moment,” she said. “And besides, I..I don't wanna be seen around you too much. It might upset my husband, and I don't wanna flare him up anymore,” she lamented. He stood still as he tried to digest her words. He looked away from her in disappointment and rubbed his hand over his brown hair. “It's.. it's fine..,” he said and walked away immediately. Watching him walk away, she gulped and tucked her hair behind her ears. What was he thinking? That she would fall for him because of a single mistake? She thought. There is no way she was gonna keep having an affair with Ryan right under Ryker's nose. No matter how mean Ryker was to her, she was determined to be faithful and possibly win his heart, she said to herself and walked out of the passageway. ** “From what I can see, she has every possibility to conceive,” Doctor Jean said as he placed his instruments back in his briefcase. “Really?!” Mrs Clyde's eyes glowed with joy. “Yes, the infection didn't affect her womb. We should wait for the test result before concluding, though. But trust my assessment, she's fertile,” he confirmed and Mrs Clyde turned to Ryker whose hand was resting under his chin. “Thank you, doctor. Just the news I wanted to hear. We'll keep in touch,” she said and shook his hands firmly. As soon as the doctor left, she gave Ryker a warm hug. “We're getting there, Samantha will bear your child,” she said with a smile. “But I can't sleep with her from the look of her vagina. It disgusts me,” he lamented. “Son, there is no time to cure that infection. You need to start right away,” she said and he shoved her hands off his shoulders. “You want me to share in her disease??!” He barked and stood up angrily. “No..no..I don't mean it that way,” she explained calmly as she walked towards him and placed her hands on his shoulders again. “Look at me,” she ordered. He gruntled and looked at her hesitantly. “We’ll use the insemination method,” she suggested. “If we inseminate her, she'll suspect what we're up to. She isn't supposed to suspect that we're using her to achieve an aim,” he said thoughtfully. “I’ll sort that out, first of all, you need to prepare for your first outing with her tomorrow. Don't forget, Ryan laid a threat, and he might carry it out. Before he strikes, we should be a step ahead of him,” she said with a smile as she stroked his cheeks. He nodded and she kissed his lips lightly. “You know I hate sharing you with any woman. More reasons I hated Vanessa, because she seemed to have stolen you away from me,” she continued with a smirk as she placed her hands around his shoulder. “No woman can separate us, mother. I love you so much,” he said and kissed her lips deeply.Wild, huh?!!! wait for more revelations!
In the large auditorium filled to the brim, Ryker stood alongside his mother, watching Ryan on the podium, receiving an award. There were claps and cheers from the audience and Mark was seen, standing beside young Ryan who was handsomely dressed in a black suit as he received his award. As they walked down the podium, they were surrounded by family and friends. “He might be the future leader of CTECH. Such an amazing young talent,” A noble man in black suit commented, while patting Ryan's shoulders. “Oh, yes, one day, he'll become the best software developer the world has ever witnessed,” another man added.Everyone laughed. “Indeed, Ryan is the future of CTECH,” Aunt Susan put in and Mark nodded as everyone laughed. Sara felt her heart skip as she heard those words from where she stood. Ryker couldn't help but watch with his heart engrossed with bitterness. Sara took hold of his hand and they both walked out of the hall. At the mansion, they both sat in the living room watching
It was partially cloudy as the boat sped along the green lake waters. Mrs Clyde sat alongside the two men in black outfits as the boat headed towards the shores. She took a slow glance at Susan whose unconscious body was covered with a big blanket and heaps of sacks. Her face hardened and she looked away slowly. She shut her eyes for a moment, her heart heavy with bitterness. “It was all your fault, Mark!! If you hadn't betrayed my trust for you, I wouldn't become the monster I am today,” she soliloquized as she opened her eyes and heaved a sigh. These were a series of flashbacks occuring in her head and she gulped, with tears clouding her eyes.FLASHBACK “I'm sorry, it will take only a miracle for the baby to be able to reproduce in the future,” the doctor's voice was heard in the office. Sara broke into tears, looking at her husband, Mark, who was sitting beside her.He pulled her closer and patted her back. “Doctor, please do anything,” Mark's brass voice was heard, pleading
Her face beamed with a smile as she gazed at the photograph she was holding. It was a photograph of Ryan when he was a baby. “They're both the same,” she muttered as she heaved a sigh and slipped her fingers into her hair. The office door slid open and a gentleman in white coat walked in, holding a sheet of paper. “Here,” he said, handing the sheet over to Susan.“Thank you, Dave,” she responded with a smile as she took the sheet. She picked up her pair of glasses and wore it as she perused the content of the paper. With a resounding laughter, she dropped the result on the table and took off her glasses. “Oh, Sara, you're inhumane,” she cursed aloud. “Finally, the truth is out,” she said as she stood up from her seat. She picked up her phone, and placed the sheet of paper in her small handbag. “Sara and Ryker will suffer my wrath. But first, I need more evidence, and I'll start with Daren,” she said as she wore her glasses and walked out of the office in a haste.**It was q
He walked into his mother's bedroom and he could see her sitting on the bed, wearing her black silk nightie as she sipped from her glass of wine. “Ryker,” she cried soberly as he walked towards the bed, with his face stiffened and cold. He kept silent as he stood before the bed. “You aren't going to sit?” She asked. “No, I'm not here to gist with you. I wanna inform you that I'll be getting married to Sasha in a few weeks' time,” he informed. “No, you can't do that,” she refuted, shaking her head. “Why?!” He snapped. “With all the dramas going on in this family, all you could think of is your marriage to Sasha?” She asked in a rather high tone. “Yes, because they're none of my damn business. You rule the home, and everything is under your control!” He fired. She swallowed hard and placed her glass on the stool before her. “Ryker, I know I made terrible decisions in the past. I shouldn't have hid Claris and Ken's affair, I know you're still mad at me, but stop!” She
She yawned and stretched tiredly as she turned to the other side of the bed. She opened her eyes as she couldn't feel Ken's presence behind her. She sat up and wiped her eyes. Looking around the room, she wondered where he had gone. “Ken?” She called, standing up from the bed. She walked into the bathroom, but it was empty. Walking back into the room, she noticed his small backpack was gone. Her heart skipped and she quickly reached for her phone on the bed. She dialled his line but it was switched off. “Ken, where are you? Don't dare mess with me,” she chuckled as she paced around the room. Just then, she heard a knock on the door. “Oh, I knew it. He can't just leave me,” she said with a smile as she walked over to the door. “Ken, I was..,” she said and stopped abruptly as she opened the door and saw Sophia, standing gallantly in front of her. Donned in an all black outfit, Sophia's face pulled into a menacing smile. “What are you doing here?!” Claris cried, walking b
Ryan stood up from the side of the baby cradle where he was sitting. Baby Ryette was already asleep. He walked out of the room and stood before the door where Ryker had stood earlier. He wondered why Ryker hadn't come in to check on the baby.Could he be mad that he was getting attached to the baby? He asked himself. He sighed and walked back into the room to switch off the bright lights. Walking out of the room, his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID and saw Mrs Mariah. He smiled and walked over to the balcony to pick up the call. Sitting on the armchair up on the balcony, he smiled, hearing her voice on the phone. “Boss lady,” he called. “Ryan, I've been worried about you all day. How did the wedding go?” She asked. “Not as we planned. A lot happened here,” he related tiredly. “Care to share?” She asked. “Sophia was jilted on the altar. I can't believe Ken could do such a thing,” he replied. “Ken did that? Why? Oh, I see reasons he never invited me for his wedding,
With one hand holding the edges of her dress, she sped out of the building and made for her car. She zoomed out of the mansion before anyone could make a chase. Her heart raced as she drove speedily along the calm dark road. With one hand on the steering wheel, she dialled Ken's line. “Ken, I'm coming over. It's all blown up!!” She cried with devastation. “Claris, is everything okay?” Ken's voice was heard from the phone. “I'll be there in a minute,” she responded and hung up immediately. She looked around carefully as she stepped out of the car. She could see the light shining from the bungalow in front of her. She heaved a sigh of relief as she ran towards the building. She opened the door and stepped into the house. She could see Ken walking out of the passageway. “Ken!!” She cried, running up to hug him. “What's the matter?” He asked as she pulled away from him. “Videos of us were sent to Sophia anonymously!!” She cried in dismay. “What?!!” He exclaimed, moving b
The receptionist welcomed them warmly as they stopped before her desk. “We were the ones who reached out to you on the phone, concerning Mr Ken who was lodging at your hotel last night,” Ryker related to the female receptionist whose face was locked in a smile. “Oh, Mr Ryker of CTECH,” she awed, getting up from her seat at once. “We want every information we can get about him. We know this is out of work ethics, but it's urgent. He has a wedding today and he's nowhere to be found,” Ryan explained with enthusiasm. “Oh, that's sad,” the lady said, picking up her phone. “I'll contact my manager before giving out any info,” she said, typing on her telephone. The men waited impatiently. “I'll be back,” she said, walking away. Not long, she walked in with a man in his early forties, dressed in a black fitted suit. They all exchanged pleasantries and handshakes. “From the information gathered by the receptionist, he checked out at around 11:15pm. He was with a lady and they b
It was a beautiful yet chaotic morning at the Clyde's mansion. Everyone was seen preparing for the big day. Sophia, glamorously fitted in her white wedding dress, was standing before the mirror as her glam team placed her veil over her head. “Still no news from Claris?!” She snapped angrily at her bridesmaids who were all dressed beautifully in pink. “No, her line is not connecting,” one of the girls replied. “Oh, jeez!!” Sophia cried in frustration. The door opened and Claris walked into the room, still dressed in her last night's outfit. “I can't believe you aren't even dressed yet!!” Sophia fired. “Aww, beautiful sis. I'm so sorry, I got a call last night from my boyfriend and he asked that I spend the night over,” she related, feigning pity. “Same invisible boyfriend who never shows his face!” Sophia scoffed. Claris smirked. “So sorry, sweetie. By the way, you're looking, muah,” she teased, blowing her a kiss. “Do you realize you're supposed to be my maid of hono
