LYRA'S POV

"What are you doing here?" I asked as slowly as I could, at the same time rubbing my eyes with the back of my palm as I questioned my vision.

It didn't matter that I blinked as many times as I forcefully could. Duncan was standing there. He was standing right here in my room. Leaning against the window, hands folded across his chest and a few locks of hair fallen across his face.

I looked him down only to discover that he was wearing a pair of dirt stained boots in my room.

"You're staining my floor." I pointed out to him in case he just didn't realize it.

"I think that should be the least of your worries, dear. I don't stop until I get what I want." He said moving closer to me.

"What exactly do you want?" I gritted out. I had had enough these past days, why did everything seem to be on the verge of getting worse.

"My son." My muscles tensed protectively as I heard him say that.

"He is not yours." I said the pettiest thing that came to my mind.

LYRA'S POV It was a catastrophe, not mine though. Duncan's. Thorne stifled a chuckle as Duncan returned to join us at the table. I couldn't be more surprised, marriages like his and Sophia's were most times never peaceful and in a way, part of me wanted to believe that he deserved all of what was coming at him. "I think it's best we leave now." I placed the tumbler on the settee as I spoke, Thorne didn't make any reactions while Duncan's eyes widened. "You're leaving so early?" "We have nothing more to do here." I shrugged. Duncan parted his lips for a few seconds then slammed it shut immediately. "I would walk you out then." He said. I grabbed my bag, Thorne walked right beside me while Duncan led the way in front. "We need to talk about that pass." Thorne's lips brushed against my ear. "Lets get home first." I said, placing my palm on his cheek and pushing him slowly away. Thorne smiled and grabbed me in the waist by surpri

SOPHIA'S POV Bad things do happen. Even go the cruelest of people. I sat at the bus station by the bakery, my bag beside me as I continued to salivate go the sweet smell of freshly baked bread. I couldn't wait for Patrick to get his ass over and be done with all of this. It wasn't exactly luna-like, sitting here under the scorching sun, with a dishevelled hair and unmatching pairs of shoes. I was in a hurry this morning to get the pass from Kade, and the way Lyra and Thorne showed up only strengthened my resolve to be quick. I wasn't sure what they had come for and whatever it was, I knew it had something to do with Kade. A vehicle came to an halt right in front of me and beeped it's horn at me. I raised my head slowly, after having kept it down throughout, it reduced my chances of being seen. Phelan opened the door of the passenger seat from where he sat in the driver's seat. "Did Patrick not come?" I got up and hopped into the car, closing

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 41: TONGUE WARS IN TRANSIT

LYRA'S POV "Are you alright?" "I'm fine, it's nothing much." My response wouldn't really be convincing to Thorne as I had been staring out the window since we began our journey to the Nightshade pack. I was worried and Thorne knew all what it entailed, now asides that, there was nothing else bothering me. "You look sad." Thorne said. "I think that at this point, I always look sad. My mind just doesn't feel at rest leaving Ryan behind." I chuckled silently as if it was enough to convince Thorne. "You do know Tank would keep him safe, right?" "I doooo but… we are against rogues here. Maybe the worst thing that has ever happened to me is having Duncan find us. Come to think of it, if I had chosen to move to a pack farther away from him. None of…" "Sheesh, sheesh. We have the best warriors Lyra, you're safe, Ryan is safe and you made no mistake coming here, okay." Thorne placed his index finger over my lips to prevent me from speaking any further.

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 40: HE SAID “INVADE” – I SAID “YIKES"

SOPHIA'S POV "You should get some rest now." I pulled the blanket over Lydia's lying figure. She said nothing to me after that, more like she didn't appreciate my efforts. I found it harder to believe that she disliked me or hated me which was certainly the case. All I had ever wanted was the best for her, Her father was the kind of parent who likes to spoil their kids, I just thought I could be that disciplinary mother that would make sure she didn't go rotten. I sighed. "Good night." Lydia faced the wall and ignored me. My phone beeped at the same time which left me no time to worry about her rudeness. I checked out the screen, my eyes widened in shock. Patrick needed me and it wasn't Phelan sending the message, it was Patrick himself. "If your father comes looking for me, tell him I went to see a friend." I wasn't sure if she would pass the message or not but I had to try. I opened the door and walked out of the room at a steady pace, shutting the d

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 39: MY SON, NOT YOURS, THORNE

DUNCAN'S POV The road leading back home was as busy as they came, not with vehicles but with teenagers whose only concern in life had nothing to do with keeping track of time but everything to do with having fun. The scene took me back to the time I was just fifteen years old like them, young, full of life, probably invulnerable and most definitely, I didn't have me a dying wolf. The carefreeness of my young age was something that had gotten replaced by the burden of being an adult. I had a lot of things going on on my mind almost at the same time, the most important topic was always the one taking the lead and I still couldn't understand, no matter how much I tried to. The call I made to Lyra this afternoon didn't go as expected, I had just thought I was doing a favor nothing more but what she had accused me of. Trying to kidnap Ryan and take him away from her was something I would never think of doing. I could never have her back in my life, but I could have R

  • DESIRED BY MY LYCAN EX AND THE BETA   Chapter 38: BETA LOGIC VS. ALPHA INSTINCTS

LYRA'S POV I raised the phone up to my hear rolling my eyes as I did so. "Hello." I said into the phone with a croaked voice. "You don't seem well, why are you croaking?" Came Duncan's response. "Just get to the point of why you called me." I said totally dismissing his sympathy. He had no reason to pretend or to sympathize. "I don't know if Jennifer told you about it but we found a lifeless wolf on the school premises today." He revealed. "She already told me Duncan. It's my territory remember, besides a lifeless wolf?" I asked. "That's not what Jennifer told me." I placed the phone on speaker all the while so Thorne could hear what we were saying. "He was almost dead actually. I had to transport him to my pack so we could do the interrogating." Duncan explained, his explanation only confirmed the suspicion I had of him in mind. He wasn't all that clean and he still wanted Ryan back. "Don't you think that I should be the one doing the
