Chapter Three

The ice ball is in two days. The office was buzzing with news about the ice ball on Saturday.

"Iñigo Callan is going to be there," my co-worker, Janeth said. Janeth was a bubbly person. She talks a lot and laughs loud but over all she's really sweet.

"Honestly, I don't know what's so good about him." I shook my head, reached into my office and sat down. My office was just plain with light grey walls and a dark brown office desk and a plant in the corner and some colloeages of photos of my high school years.

Janeth gaped at me her eyes widened. "What's so good about him?! Don't get me started on his eyes—"

"What's so good about his eyes?" I rubbed my temples. Linda kept me all night, blabbering about Iñigo this and Iñigo that.

"There this brightest blue like cool watery ocean blue, and he has green and silver fleck around his orbs. It's just so ugh so sexy — And his hair... His hair, looks so soft and is the color of chocolate... His jawline is so perfect his cheek bones are flawless!" Janeth groaned. My eyes widened at her as she closed her eyes, biting her lips.

"Okay Janeth, how about we change the subject, yeah?"

"I just can't wait for the ice ball, Sam. I have this sexiest dress that I can't wait for him to see. You do know we have to wear a mask right?" she said, her hazel eyes still wide.

"We do?"

"Yeah, it said it on the card invitations." She pulled out the card out of her purse.

Masks are to be worn.

I rolled my eyes. "This isn't no masquerade ball." I handed her back the card.

"So? It's still awesome. Plus on the website they said whoever finds Iñigo gets to keep him for the night and I strive to find him."

"Website? What website?"

"It's a website where we post things about gossip and stuff it's kinda like that show I watch called Gossip Girl." She sat at the edge of my desk, typing on her phone. "Anyway, Seth has commitment issues, but he was in an interview yesterday, and he said he might try to find a woman at the ice ball that catches his eyes. And hopefully, that's me," she stated confidently.

"Well good luck with that. There thousands of other girls out there just saying," I told her as she leaved.

After work, I decided to head to Linda's work. I brought her Chipotle, knowing she loves those things. The elevator doors opened, and I walked in seeing people scurrying around with mannequins and fabrics hanging off their arms. I scanned the room seeing Linda with the sowing machine a scowl on her face as she sowed quickly. I walked over, and she looked up a happy smile on her face she got up and squeezed me tight.

"I love you!" She grabbed the Chipotle bag from me eating away.

"No eating on the job Ms. Yu." Snapped a man with a heavy British accent.

I looked up seeing a handsome man who looked in his early twenties. He had dirty curly messy blonde hair sharp features and bright hazel eyes.

"Andrei, I'm starving right now—"

"I am Mr. Swansea to you, and I don't give a damn if you are hungry. The ice ball is in two days and I don't have time for this." He grabbed the Chipotle and throws it in the garbage can, then marched off.

My jaw dropped, looking at the garbage can.

"See what I mean about douche bag?" Linda grumbled and I slowly nodded.

"What an asshole." I breathed. "I payed twelve dollars for that thing." I shook my head and opened my bag. I pulled out the left over half-eaten sandwich and handed it to Linda. She sighed in relief.

"Hurry and eat before he comes back here." I ushered her and laughed as she stuffed it in her whole mouth.

Once we got home, Linda booked us a manicure and pedicure appointment tomorrow at two. On Saturday, our gay friend William will do our makeup since he's a makeup artist.

Some knocked on the door interrupted me from watching SpongeBob. I opened the door, seeing Storm. I blinked, then furrowed my eyebrows.

"Hey... Storm, what are you doing here?" I then noticed I was wearing pajama cotton short, a white crop top and long white socks.

Storm scanned my outfit and smiled. "Linda invited me. Trisha been working all day and I had nothing to do so, she invited me for dinner.

Damn you Linda, really.

I know what Linda is trying to do — She was trying to make me and Storm and I 'reconnect'. I told her there no chance because Storm was already engaged, and I've moved on. Sort of...

"Okay. Come in." I stepped aside, and he walked in and examined the house.

"Cute home." He grinned and sat down on the sofa.

"Thanks." I sat next to him, unpausing the show.

"You still love this show?" he asked me.

"I never stopped," I replied. In the corner of my eye I noticed him watching me.

"Sam, I have — Oh, hey Storm!" Linda chirped, her hair is wet from her shower.

"Hey Lind's." Storm stood up and hugged her tight.

Linda glanced at me and mouthed 'this is your chance'. I rolled my eyes at her.

"So, Storm how long have you and barbie — Trisna been together?" Linda plopped on the recliner.

"Three years," Storm answered.

"Wow. How did you guys meet?" Linda faked happiness, and I snorted quietly.

"Well, I was at practice and Trisha was there to watch her cousin who's on my team. I threw the football, but it went to the bleachers and hit her head. I took her to the hospital and while she was getting recovered, we talked and then from then on," Storm explained and Linda coo's.

"That's cute. Sam found a boyfriend too, right Sam?" Linda announced.

I choked. "Wha—" "She's currently seeing this boy named Calvin. He works with her at the restaurant. There are so cute!"

What the hell, Linda?!

I glared daggers at her.

"That's great Sam, I'm happy for you." Storm grinned.

I gave him a faked grin. "Thank you." I gritted my teeth and sent Linda a death glare.

"Who wants pizza?" Linda chirped, sending me a apologetic look.
