CHAPTER SIX 

WHAT IF

ALESSIA POV

Waiting silently for the next word he's going to mutter , something in me was ready for a disaster ,he stared fervently into my eyeballs like he was searching for something missing.

I was scared 

Part of me wanted to hug him ,the icy cold look was dissolving little by little ,like he was breaking into pieces gradually,his blue electric eyes were getting darker.

 An hefty looking man ran in and break the silence,he was breathing heavily “Hi boss,there's a problem at the base right now”

The look went back to normal and he immediately left my front.

I just stood there frozen ,my heart rhythm slowly getting back to normal.

At that point I knew my body was aware of something I couldn't remember, I just stood there , gripping the water in my hand so hard.

I finally got hold of myself ,I sat down and drank the water.

I went back to the room and was pondering hard on what it was he wanted to say,hours passed by and I couldn't sleep and wondering what life I'm about to go through in this new phase.

THIRD PERSON POV 

The morning of next day , Everyone in the household of the esparto was getting ready ,While ALESSIA was just lost on what's going on her husband knotted his tie and she's there on the sofa she slept thinking what next is going to happen like a ticking bomb.

He picked up his suit, and left the room not even a word to her.slamming the door behind him.

She stood up and went straight to the bathroom to take her bath,she came out Looking damn wet , trying to dry them off with the towel with her ,then her phone started ringing and it was her friend 

“Hi baby girl ,how is my love doing?” She sounds warm and lively.

“I'm doing great,”Allessia added, smiling.

“Are you sure” she asked concerned 

“Sure”

“So what are you up to babe”

“I'm just getting out of shower”

“Hope you're okay” 

“Yeah I'm fine”

“You promise, remember, to always inform me if you're not okay”

“Sure”

“I got you My love ,I have to go now I will call you back”

She dressed up and marched downstairs, just for her to get down and see all of them eating breakfast ,all eyes fell on her and the fear was so obvious through her body reaction that she was intimidated,she stood there frozen on a spot.

“Good mor…ning sir Good morning ma”she hastily bowed her head 

There were eight of them sitting down ,The old man , Lorenzo , Rocco and two identical twin brothers with two other men ,plus a lady .All of them glaring hard at her 

“I don't know why you will agree to the deal after all they've done , you're so unbelievable”A man in his mid fifties commented with irritation in his voice,with an expression of disgusting on her face , starring hard at Allessia 

“You keep the enemy close and watch every of their moves to know how you can crumble them easily ," the old man(Father to Rocco and Lorenzo) said snorting,his voice sounded so cold and cruel.

Both Lorenzo and Rocco kept quiet and their heads lowered to their meals.

The other party showed a deep unpleasantry expression ,I feel like crushing her bad ,argghhhh 

 she rushed past them into the kitchen, she got there feeling out of place,her whole body trembling.

The old man burst into a devilish laughter 

“Just watch and see ,she won't last long enough to handle what's in store for her ,I need to teach that father of hers a lesson no one messes with me and go scot free”

Alessia got to the kitchen,her whole body trembling from the so bad her head lowered on the cabinet with both hands resting on the cabinet as well. 

A tap on her back,

She jumped up.

“Relax” ,a woman in her mid fifties, smiling so widely at her 

“Good morning ma”Alessia said fear gripped her 

“Oh no ,you can be free with” she said patting her shoulder with a welcoming smile 

“How are you ?”

“I'm doing very well” she replied in a more relaxing tone 

“Let me dish you your breakfast ,you can sit here to take it.”

“Thank you” she said,This time she replied back with a smile as well 

“You are really Pretty,welcome to the house hold”

I'm the chief chef here, you can come to me whenever you need something.She placed the food on the table,still smiling.you can call me anytime if you need help.

“Thank you ma ,that means a lot to me”

“You can refer to me as Mrs Bailey ,Fell free with me” 

“Okay ma” she smiled back at her 

“Eat up dear”she said and left the kitchen 

Breakfast was over and the whole place was silent again , giving the gothic and cold atmospheric vibe.

She was lying down on the sofa pressing her phone , Lorenzo walked in,sighted her and walk towards the mirror in the room , rechecking in tie and picking up the suit 

“We have an event to attend to by 7pm,dress well and don't waste my time”he said 

When I talk to you, respond ,okay ?

“Nobody in this family likes you or wants you here ,any slight mistake coming from you will send you to your grave and as you know , you're now a property of this family and there's nothing your parents or anyone will do about it.”

“Then why sign the deal”l said confused 

“I can see you are very slow, but don't worry you will learn very soon.”he added before slamming the door behind 

Then not long after the old man,entered the room 

Good morning sir 

Hmmmm he look very dangerous and not somebody to mess with 

She was fidgeting on her stand

He moved closer, standing so close to her studying all her body with so much attention 

Wow ,I can't believe you're here 

He touched her hair……..,

Yessssss…. sir ,she said her voice shaking so bad 

Let's see what will can do with you 

Dragon he shouted 

Sir..

A hefty looking man came in ,in black suit and two other bodyguards at his back …
