MATURE WARNING!

After slipping out of her heels and into a flip-flop, turning on the TV and ensuring Chris got comfortable, Starr made her way to the kitchen to make some tea. The hazy feeling had faded, and she had started to regret inviting Chris in on impulse. "Why Christopher, of all people? Why?" she asked herself in mutters as she fetched a herbal tea from her cabinet and began to make. "It could have been any damn person in the world, but you chose him," she muttered to herself when the kettle whistled. She put the tea in, then poured it in two mugs.

Chris was watching some TV series when she got back to the sitting room, laughing at the comedy series. Starr rolled her eyes as she walked up to him and handed him the tea. He hummed a bit, inhaling the calming steam of the tea, before he thanked her, "Thank you, dearie."

Starr simply nodded, sitting down. Sitting down close enough to him. She wanted his warmth, the warmth that had made her hazy. She didn't like the feeling, the feeling of wanting or needing someone, but she craved it. She lifted her legs to the chair, leaning back a bit as she stared at Chris, sipping from her mug. Chris didn't budge or make a move; instead, he relaxed more, laughing at the comedy series. Starr smiled, tempted to laugh. Chris had a very infectious laugh, and that made her want to laugh along. She dropped the mug down and tried to hold in her urge to laugh, not budging, but before she knew it, she had a wide grin on. "I miss these shows," Chris said with a smile, turning to look at her. Starr tried to quickly wash the smile away, but Chris had already caught a glimpse of it. "Good show right?" he asked with a smile, causing Starr to pull a bit from how close she was from him, shaking her head.

"I don't know," she replied in a mutter, keeping a straight face.

"You don't have to keep the tough mask on whenever you're with me; you know that, right?" Chris suddenly said, causing Starr to straighten up.

She frowned, trying to act like she didn't understand what he was talking about. "What the hell are you talking about?" she asked, looking away from him.

He chuckled, causing Starr to feel rumbles within, setting the dim fire within her ablaze. "I'm saying that I know that behind all these tough displays of yours, I know there is a sweet woman who people don't stay long enough to see. They simply just assume and walk away when you show them the displays."

Starr squirmed, unconsciously moving towards Chris. The fact that he used the term 'woman', made her feel some kind of way. "You sure are one to talk, ain't ya?" she asked, trying to mask her uncomfortable state and not lead him on, on the fact that he was right in ways. Ways she wasn't ready to accept. She had changed, and she was sure of that. "Just keep watching your show." She waved him off.

Chris chuckled again, causing her to adjust. He didn't notice her movements as he wrapped his right arm around her shoulders, pulling her impossibly close to himself. "Come on, loosen up. I won't tell a soul okay? I just want some response, sort of."

Starr didn't reply, nor did she move. She instead let her tensed self relax a bit into him, taking in the scent of his noir perfume. The scent was attractive in various ways, making her want to wrap herself around him. She felt the strong urge of wanting to be babied, taken care of and treated. She wanted to let loose, only a tiny bit. But, she found herself muttering, "Yeah, whatever."

He chuckled again, causing her to hear the rumbles within his chest. She thought she was going to melt at the feel. It felt so good; she didn't want to move her head that was resting a little on his chest. Chris was emanating serious manly vibes; she simply wanted to be a woman to him for some moment. Just some. But the moment the feeling began to sink deep, a reminder rang in her head. All men are same, it played. Realisation dawning on her, she quickly sat up, pulling back.

"What's the matter?" Chris asked, concern masking his every countenance as he dropped the mug he had only pulled from his lips.

Starr shook her head and was about to retreat when Chris suddenly pressed his lips to hers. Her eyes widened, but he didn't give her space to be surprised as he pulled her flush against himself, moving his lips. It was what she had been expecting all night, that moment. She gave it no thought, moving her lips also. She pushed against him, trying to cover up the no-space they had between them. Before she knew it, she had her hands wrapped around his neck, locking him and pulling up to sit on his lap. Chris placed his hands on her bare waist, causing her body to tingle with sparks.

Chris ran his tongue over her lips, causing her to open them up, letting him in. She felt tingles run around her body in anticipation, as her core began to throb a little. Chris hummed into the kiss, grabbing her butt, pulling her closer with it. She instantly felt his erection bulge through his jeans. She couldn't help the low moan of satisfaction that escaped her mouth when tingles swirled around her body from her core. The fact that he was turned on by her at that point in time made her even more turned on. Her core began to throb continuously, begging for attention. She began to grind, wanting to desperately calm the storm that was going on at her core, but that only made her more needy. It made it throb, more and more.

Chris moved from her lips, creating a trail from her lips to her jawline, to the nook of her neck. He dwelled there for a beat, sucking and licking, causing her to grind harder from the prickly feeling she was getting. She was letting out soft moans, which were what drove Chris wild. He flipped them, placing her on the couch while he knelt on the floor, pulling her so she could wrap her legs around his waist. He began to kiss her neck to her chest, placing a kiss on her exposed cleavage, not letting her butt escape from his grasp. He went back to kiss her neck, finding the spot that made him earn moans from her. He moved his hands from her butt, rubbing at her exposed thighs as he began to mess with the hem of her dress, before pulling it off.

Starr sighed at the breeze that hit her, spreading her legs wider so it could get to her core. She hadn't been wearing a bralette. Her nipple hardened immediately at the feel of the breeze. Chris caressed it softly, causing her to moan loudly. He twirled the left, bringing his tongue to the right. He sucked, then bit it mildly with his incisors, tugging gently. Starr moaned loudly, grinding and bucking. Chris pulled his right hand away from her left nipple, switching roles. After sucking and twirling for a while, he then let his left hand slip down to her panties.

It was the moment Starr had been waiting for. She had oh so desperately wanted to be touched there already, and didn't want to do it herself. She let out a satisfied sigh when Chris began to rub at her core through her lace panties. He rubbed with his left, twirled with his right, and sucked at her right. Starr had all sorts of feelings going on within her; she felt high.

After rubbing for a bit, Chris pushed her panties to the side, then slipped his middle finger in. Starr began to pant, wanting more. Chris moved slowly, paced and purposefully. Starr began to grind against his finger, but Chris quickly steadied her. Holding her waist still with his right hand as he began to suck at her right nipple, sucking, licking and tugging gently. He increased his pace a bit but didn't increase the number of fingers. He wanted her to crave more, but not fully satisfy her. That wasn't how he wanted to satisfy her. He quickened up, making it really hard for Starr to stay still. It was like she was edging, but she wasn't. The moment Chris noticed how she moved like she was about to cum, he withdrew his finger. Starr wanted to cry at the loss of contact; she was edging. She was pained. But, Chris had other plans. He unzipped his trousers and whipped out his fully hardened member. Starr leaned forward, pulling his T-shirt off. She wanted skin to skin; she didn't want any cloth coming between them. She pulled her panties off, but Chris didn't have time to pull his trousers off as he pulled Starr closer. He rubbed her core with his member, making her moan.

"Ah," she breathed out, jerking.

He rubbed it once more, then turned it into a continuous motion, letting her pussy juice fill up places. It made his member easy to move about. He rubbed at her core, making Starr squirm in anticipation. Soon, he slipped in.

" Hmmm," Starr let out in satisfaction, bucking.

Chris began to move slowly again, keeping it paced. Starr wanted to desperately grind, meet him wherever he reached, but she knew he wasn't a fan of that. If he was a fan, he wouldn't have stopped her that other time. She wanted him to move faster, but Chris moved at his pace. He increased his pace bit by bit. Soon, he was moving at the pace Starr had wanted, causing her to moan loudly, her boobs bouncing up and down.

"Touch yourself," he had told her in a hoarse voice, causing her to obey.

At that point in time, she didn't care if he commanded her or not; all she wanted was to cum. She touched herself, matching the pace of his thrust. She could feel it; she could feel herself edging, and so could Chris.

After a while of rubbing and thrusting, Chris came, and she soon after. She bucked her hips a couple more times before she let herself fall flat while Chris pulled out and fell on the floor, pulling her along. He pulled her into a cuddle, big spooning her weak form.

Starr didn't have the words. Her body felt amazing, she felt happier, maybe. She wasn't sure.

She wanted to slip out of his hold, but Chris only held her tighter, not giving her a chance to move. She smiled, feeling giddy as she let her tired self sleep.

Valentine had been planning this for months, ever since that afternoon in Christopher's kitchen when he'd let it slip he had a date in mind, and he'd spent every one of those months terrified he'd somehow give it away before he was ready, because Magnus, for all his chaos, had an uncanny gift for reading people. He'd chosen a rooftop, one Magnus had pointed out once, months ago, during a walk neither of them had planned to end anywhere romantic, saying offhandedly that it looked like the kind of place people proposed in movies. Valentine had filed the comment away and never mentioned it again, which had taken more discipline than he generally got credit for."Why are we going up here?" Magnus asked, following him up the narrow service stairwell with visible suspicion, one hand braced against the wall. "This building doesn't even have proper access to the roof. Is this legal?""Mostly legal," Valentine said, pushing open the access door to reveal string lights he

Three weeks had passed since the cabin, since the hospital, since the whole terrifying ordeal had finally quieted into something Starr could look back on without her hands shaking, and life had begun, slowly, to reassemble itself into something that resembled normal again. Iris slept in longer stretches now. Starr had returned to the office twice, briefly, mostly to remind everyone she still owned the place, before Christopher insisted, gently but firmly, that maternity leave existed for a reason. It was Sorcha's phone call on a Thursday evening that pulled Starr's attention away from folding an impossibly small pile of onesies."So," Sorcha said, and something in her voice carried an odd, nervous energy that immediately put Starr on alert. "I wanted to ask if it would be okay to bring someone to family dinner this Sunday."Starr set down the onesie she'd been folding, sitting up straighter. "Someone.""Heather," Sorcha said, in a rush, like the name migh

The detective who came to take Starr's official statement was patient and kind in a way that surprised her, given how many times she'd had to repeat the same details over the past week, first to the county sheriff's office, then to a lawyer, then again to a detective from the city who specialized in cases exactly like hers. Christopher sat beside her the entire time, Iris asleep against his chest in the sling Sorcha had bought them, his free hand resting on Starr's knee."Michael Adams has been formally charged," the detective told them, flipping through her notes. "Kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, and a handful of related charges we're still building out. Given the premeditation involved, and given his own admissions on the record, we don't anticipate much difficulty securing a conviction.""And Emma?" Starr asked, surprising herself with how steady her voice came out.The detective glanced up. "Miss West has been cooperating fully. Volunteered everything, ac

The delivery room was too bright, too loud, too full of urgent voices telling her to breathe and push and breathe again, and through all of it Christopher stayed exactly where he'd promised he would, at her side, one hand gripping hers so tightly she wondered distantly if she was the one bruising him this time instead of the other way around."You're doing so well," he kept saying, over and over, his voice thick with tears he wasn't bothering to hide anymore. "Starr, look at me, you're doing incredible, she's almost here.""You keep saying that," Starr gasped, half laughing despite the pain, despite everything, because there was something in his face, some wide-open, helpless devotion, that made even this feel survivable."Because it's true every single time," he said, pressing a kiss to her damp forehead. "One more, love. The doctor says one more big push."Starr gathered whatever strength she had left, all the strength that had carried her out of a cabi

The cabin came into view through a break in the trees, a single window glowing yellow against the dark, and Christopher's chest seized at the sight of it, an ordinary looking building that had, in the space of a few hours, become the only place in the world that mattered.Officer Reyes met them at the edge of the tree line, one hand raised, her expression firm but not unkind. "You stay here," she said, before Christopher could even open his mouth to argue. "My people are already moving in. The second it's safe, I will personally walk you to her. Not before."Christopher wanted to fight her on it, every instinct in his body screaming at him to run straight for that glowing window, but Valentine's hand closed hard around his shoulder, holding him steady, and some last shred of reason told him that charging in blind might cost Starr more than his patience would.Inside the cabin, Starr had heard the change in the air before she understood what it meant, a stillness

Emma hadn't gone home. She'd sat in the back office of the eatery for nearly an hour after Christopher had stormed off toward Valentine's car, staring at her own hands, listening distantly to the sound of Magnus shouting orders into a phone somewhere near the front, and feeling something inside her cave in completely. She hadn't wanted this. She kept telling herself that, over and over, like repetition alone could scrub the last hour clean. She had wanted Christopher back, wanted Starr gone from his life, wanted, more than anything, to matter to someone the way Starr so effortlessly seemed to matter to everyone around her. She had not wanted a pregnant woman dragged out a back door by a man whose eyes, she now admitted to herself, had frightened her from the very first meeting in that hotel room. She was still sitting there when Magnus found her, his face a storm of fury and fear that made her flinch back against the wall."Get up," he said, his voice flat and c

"You my dear friend, need to step out of this house," Magnus said to Starr. Magnus was the only person who Starr sometimes spent time with or talked about personal or mundane things with. Magnus had been there with her through thick and thin, through unexpected hits and decisions. He was the only o

Days had passed and it was almost the weekend. Starr was feeling unusually fatigued and simply wanted to rest. She had woken early to go to work, but ended up not being able to. So, she decided to rest at home and call in sick."Go to the hospital," Magnus commanded Starr
