Nothing had really changed around the house. It still had its African touch to it. It still had their dad’s effect here and there, his pictures still up. Starr smiled, her heart warming up. It was like his presence was still present, watching over them. She felt safe. “So, how has life been for you Lace?”

Solace nodded with a smile as they walked past the sitting room into the kitchen and dining room. It was nicely lit, the right white lights reflecting off the marble white tiles. “Fine,” Solace had replied.

The kitchen and dining room hadn’t change, but yet Starr still felt fresh in it. It felt like it was the first time she had been entering it, yet feeling so home. “What about work?” she had asked lace as she sat down on one of the wooden chair surrounding a round wooden table, where all other chairs were too.

“Pretty good,” Solace had replied her as he sat down too, their mother dropping everything
