FORTY-ONE

Starr felt way better the next day. She hadn’t left early in the morning. But rather took her time. She didn’t really have anything doing. She took her time getting ready for her day. Solace had upped and left early the next morning, leaving only herself, her mother and Sorcha in the house. “Good morning,” she had greeted her mother when she had gotten out of the bedroom in the morning.

Her mother was munching at a banana as well as tapping at her phone, when she had walked in on her in the kitchen and dining room. “Morning dearie,” her mother had replied her, switching off her phone to pay her attention as she asked, “How was your night?”

Sorcha nodded as she sat opposite her, pulling a banana away from its bunch as she peeled and took a bite. “Good,” she replied with a smile. “Haven’t felt so home and comfortable in a long time. Feels like I shouldn’t return to my house anymore.”
