CHAPTER THREE.
She had a short temper and it only made it easy for Ron to pick a fight with her."What do you mean?" She asked."You were just flirting with Felix like a cheap whore." He said. She gasped. She had clearly not expected him to call her that. Her face darkened more. That was what he wanted."How dare you call me a whore?" She sparked at him.He did not say anything. He shoved his hands in his trouser pockets and stood straight, looking forward into the room. His plan was going fine and she walked away from him. Just how he wanted it. He went inside the room and got talking with some people he recognized. The room was filled with influential people, people of his class and he knew many of them. He talked and drank just alittle and when it was time for his speech, Felix did not forget to acknowledged the company that supplied the building materials and made the beautiful interior design. Ron waved at the crowd. They knew where to come now if they had any building matters and interior designs that needed to be done. He got a lot of potential clients there, others promising to visit but others wanted the job done immediately and were ready for the contract. He was glad he came. The launch was over in no time but the people were much and he had a lot of people to talk to. When he finally finished talking to people, he looked around the almost empty large room, looking for Lauren. She had to get back home. He spotted her, she was sitting at a corner, sulking. He knew why and he knew what he was expected to do, beg for forgiveness. But he would not. She was at a loss now. He walked over to where she was sitting and stood infront of her."I am leaving." He said. She did not speak. She just sat there, looking straight ahead."I said..." He started to speak before she cut him off."Apologize." She said.He scoffed mockingly. She was rude and a rich brat. He looked at her and her brown eyes stared back at his dark ones."Are you coming or not?" He asked her again."Apologize!!" She spoke again. Her voice was high. He did not say any other thing, he just turned around and started walking away, out of the room. She called his name behind him but he did not stop, he was not one she could just control. He was not at her beck and call. He was almost at the door when he heard footsteps behind him, the noise of heels on the floor. He knew she was the one and he fastened his pace, she fastened hers too. They got to the parking lot and she finally spoke."Hey, wait for me." She shouted. Her voice echoed in the place and he stopped. He turned around to face her. Her face wasn't dark anymore and he was sure she was down from her high horse."What?" He asked, feigning anger in his voice."Just take me home." She replied, equally in an angry tone.He did not say anything else. He walked over to the drivers seat and she got into the car. They sat in silence and he started the car. The engine roared and soon, they were on the road, driving to her house. They did not speak to each other all through the drive, she kept a straight face and it was a win for Ron. He did not want to speak with her."Are you seriously not going to apologize to me for calling me a whore?" She asked. That was the first time she spoke during the ride. She was still angry about the issue and her tone gave her away. He did not speak. He just kept mute, driving. It infuriated her so much and he knew it but he liked it. They did not speak after that and when they got to her house, she angrily came out of the car and jammed the car door. Walking away angrily. He whined down the window and stuck his head out."Tell your parents I said hi." He shouted out.She did not respond. She kept walking till she got into her house and he whined up the window and started the engine. He drove out of the house. He looked at his wrist watch, the time was 11:55 PM. He knew he would be getting home by midnight, traffic was heavy. He got to his house and when he parked his car in the garage and stepped out, he looked at his watch again. The time was 12:55 PM. The ride from Lauren's house to his was just a twenty minutes drive but traffic was heavy. He walked into the house and he saw his mother. She was sitting on one of the couches, he walked over to where she sat and kissed her cheeks. He asked after his father, the man had gone to bed. He knew why she was still up, she always stayed up waiting for him if he was away at night. She stood up from the couch and hugged him, wished him goodnight and walked upstairs to her room. He went upstairs too, to his room.He got inside the room and immediately he had his clothes in the laundry basket, he went to bed. Silently praying for a good night sleep. He was honestly tired of the nightmares. He closed his eyes and when his eyes felt heavy, he did not fight it ***********Her eyes flicked open and although she was not panting heavily, beads of sweat covered her face. She sat up on the bed and her hand reached out to the switch on the wall beside her bed. She turned on the lights and it came on. She buried her face in her palms, tiredly. That was not how she wanted to wake up, it was not how she was supposed to wake up. She raised her head again and pushed her dark hair back, she rubbed her face gently. Her phone started ringing and she reached under her pillow and took it. She looked at the screen, it read "Delores." It was her manager. She received the call and kept the phone on her left ear."I was just calling to know if you will still be going for the shoot of Lush hairs." Delores spoke immediately the call was answered. She was and she told Delores. She imagined the girl jotting down her answer."And how about that date with that guy, what's his name again?" Delores asked."Ray." She replied."Ah yes. Ray." Delores spoke.Ray was a another male super model in the industry. The guy had a huge crush on her and she knew it. The guy never made his interest in her a secret. But she did not like him. He had a great body, a large rock hard chest and firm abs. His face was priceless and girls were quick to fall in love with him. He had the charm too. But still, there was something about the guy that she did not like. When he finally asked her for a date, she did not refuse him. She had never refused first dates but she never went on second dates. She was that heartless."How was your night? I hope you did not have those nightmares again?" Delores asked. She rubbed her forehead gently. She was getting frustrated about the nightmares."I did." She answered the girl."Oh Sarah, I have told you to see a psychologist honey. Should I book an appointment?" Delores asked. The girl sounded worried on the phone. Sarah could imagine her with her pen in her hand, ready to note an appointment if she said yes. She wondered why the girl never used a laptop or tablet for her jottings."No don't. I do not want to." She told the girl. She did not want to. Her parents had already taken her to the best psychologist in town when she was younger but the nightmares did not stop. She was on pills too but they still did not stop. She was done visiting doctors and psychologists."Okay honey. But do not forget that your flight is by ten in the morning and you will be flying back to town by five in the evening and then your date with that guy... Mmmhhh....""Ray.""Ah yes Ray. I keep forgetting his name. You have a date with him by nine in the evening.""Okay Delores. Thank you.""Welcome."She cut the call and kept her phone on the bed. She took the clock that was beside her bed and looked at it, the time was 5:55 AM. She sighed deeply. Her flight was still by ten so she had time to sleep again. She curled back to the duvet.CHAPTER FOUR.She woke up again but this time she was not sweating nor was she panting. The nightmares did not come. She sat up and stretched. She looked at the clock again, it was 7:45 AM. She rose from the bed and went out of her room. She was hungry and needed to eat. She walked to the kitchen and made cereal. She sat down at the dinning table and ate. She lived alone in the house. She had workers who occasionally come to clean and do the laundry. She finished the meal and went back to her room. She had a shower and got dressed, ready for her flight. She was wearing a black tight jeans and a loosed white shirt. Her long black hair was tied behind her in a ponytail.A knock sounded on the main door and she knew who it was, Delores. She walked to the door and when she opened it, it was indeed Delores. The girl was as ready for the flight as she was. They exchanged pleasantries and when she looked at her wrist watch, the time was 9:00 AM. They still had an hour to the flight and she g
CHAPTER FIVE.It was the ring of her phone that woke her up. She opened her eyes and rubbed them sleepily then she reached out for the phone from under her pillow, she got it and she looked at who was calling. It was a strange number. She looked at the time on the clock that sat on the drawer beside her bed, the time was 4:30AM. She looked back at her ringing phone and wondered who on earth would be calling her as early as that. Her thoughts went to Delores, maybe the girl got a new phone and wanted to tell her. She clicked on the green icon on her phone to answer the call and she brought it to her ear."I thought you were going to let it ring till it goes off." She recognized the voice on the other side. It was deep and masculine, like the voice of a god. It was his voice, Ron Diego. The memories of the previous night came rushing back to her head and she remembered that she gave him her number when they got talking and he asked. She had won the award last night__Yes, she won the aw
He tried to talk to her through out the time they were eating but she did not want to talk to him. It was either she didn't respond or she would respond coldly, he had to let her be. They ate dinner silently and when they were done, Sarah offered to pay the bill but Ron declined. After Ron paid the bill, they were on their way back to Sarah's apartment. The ride back to Sarah's apartment was a silent one and though Ron tried to start a conversation with Sarah, she did not respond to any of what he said. Ron was certain now that he had made a grieve mistake of telling her that he was betrothed. "See you again tomorrow?" They were infront of Sarah's apartment and they were still in the car."I'll be busy tomorrow and the next and the next too." Sarah replied him.He smiled. He knew what that answer meant, she was trying to avoid him now. For all he knew, she might not even be busy the next day. He took her hand in his, hers were small and felt weightless. He took her hand to his mouth
The sun was not too hot, just warm and good enough for sunbathing and that was what the two women were doing. Lauren and her mother were sunbathing behind the house by the swimming pool. They were having their mother-daughter moments. They just laid there in silence, enjoying the sun and tranquility that was at the backyard."So Lauren honey, how is it going with Ron? When are you two getting married?" Pamela, Lauren's mother asked. The girl turned to look at the woman. Pamela was still looking straight ahead, waiting for her answer. Lauren thought to lie to her mother, she didn't want to look like a failure. But she trashed the thought of lying, she was going to tell the woman the truth and seek advice from her too. "Oh mother, Ron is just proving difficult to handle. He would not go out on dates with me, always talking about how busy he is." Lauren finally spoke the truth. Her mother sighed."Oh honey, maybe he's been stressed. Let him take his time and then take him out on a date
WARNING: THIS CHAPTER IS 🔞 RATED.The noise of cutlery on ceramic plates was the only sound echoing in the large dinning area. The Diegos' and the Millers, they were having dinner together at the Miller family mansion. Mike Miller had informed Peter Diego about his wish for their children to get engaged alot earlier and because that was what Peter had wanted, he did oppose the idea. Peter knew that it was going to take alot of efforts to convince Ron to get engaged to Lauren and it did, it took the man three days to convince his son to get engaged to Lauren Miller and after three days, there they were, having an engagement dinner with the Miller family in their mansion. She was wearing a red dress and her hair was tied behind her in a ponytail and her perfect necklace and earrings hanged perfect on her. She was sitting beside her mother and he was sitting opposite her, beside his mother too. He was dressed in a grey suit. Her brown eyes kept darting on him and when their eyes met, s
His eyes flicked open and his breathing was heavy. He sat up on the bed and when he looked around, he knew that he was not in his house and neither was he in his room, he was in Sarah's room. He looked beside him and he could see Sarah on the bed, sleeping peacefully. He suddenly felt wet and when he touched his forehead he could feel the wetness, it was sweat. He had been dreaming again, the nightmares were haunting him again. A loud beep suddenly sounded in the room and Ron shuddered in fear but when he turned to look at the direction where the sound was coming from, it was only the alarm ringing. The alarm was placed on the other side if the bed where Sarah laid and he had to squint his eyes to look at the time, 4:32 AM. He hurriedly scrambled out of the bed and rushed to the bathroom. He had to hurry up and be ready for work as soon as possible because of the traffic. He hurriedly took his bath and when he came out if the bathroom, Sarah was awake and she was sitting on the bed.
He imagined her knit her brows together at the question and frown, her white face turning into a shade of red and he smiled inwardly. "We are going to announce our engagement today Ron, why else will I be here?" Her tone was high and though he had his eyes closed, he knew that she was fuming with anger. He wondered why the girl always got angry at the slightest provocation and he wondered if the both of them would last in holy matrimony."Oh." She gasped. "Don't tell me you forgot about this."He shrugged. "Maybe."She gasped again then silence. "Why are you always so distant towards me and everything that has to do with us, our relationship?" Her tone was calm and if he hadn't knew better, he would think she was crying. He did not respond to her and after some minutes of silence, he heard the door open and he opened his eyes to see who it was. It was Maria, she stood by the door and after she told them that it was time, she left. He stood up from his chair too and was about to wa
"Run away?" Her tone was that of surprise and shock. She was shocked by what he said. Ron sat up too and took Sarah's hands in his and he looked at her, their eyes met and they stayed like that for a long time, just looking into each other's eyes."I didn't mean run away Sarah. I meant that we should get away, travel to somewhere peaceful just for a couple of days and just the two of us." He finally replied her."But Ron, what about our jobs? Who will be there for our work?" He laid back on the bed and when he did not reply her for a while, she too laid back on the bed and once again, they tangled their bodies up.He did not reply to her questions about what was going to happen to their work and she too did not ask anymore questions, if she was going to put her work on hold just to stay with Ron and have some quiet time with him then she was going to do it. Next was how to ask the man what had happened to him."Ron?" She called out to him."Mmm." "What happened to you? What's with al
