ISABELLE’S POV

Eighteen hours ago, I decided to stay far away from Adrian—to move out of his path completely, because he clearly hates me. Yet here I am now, sitting right beside him, our hands intertwined on the table like none of that ever happened.

My stomach fluttered as I glanced down at our joined hands again. My cheeks were probably burning red; I had been blushing far too much. His fingers brushed gently against my palm, sending a sudden shiver through my entire body. His hands were big and strong, yet his touch was soft, careful… overwhelming in a way that made my chest tighten.

“Is it because we’re in public that he’s being this affectionate?” I wondered.

The thought made me frown, and I quickly shook it away.

My mother is gone. I don’t have her anymore. And the only family I seem to have now is his family, who treats me with so much warmth and respect.

Even after my mistake with his mother’s pancakes, she never once scolded me. Instead, she came to me this morning, holding

ISABELLE’S POV“I-I don’t know who Helena is.” I stuttered, looking utterly confused.“Answer my fucking question.” He yelled again.I just told him I didn’t know who Helena was. Victoria gave me this watch to match my outfit. I can’t blame her; he’d be furious with her, and she only meant to be nice.“I-I took it from a room.” I lied, avoiding his gaze as I shivered.“Why would you do that?!” He glared at me. “Are you a thief now?!”“No, no I—”“Shut the fuck up, Isabelle.” He said, moving further away from me. He kept his eyes off the window. I felt different emotions at that moment. I always do things to make him angry, but why would Victoria give me the watch, and who is Helena? I really want to know about her, but this looks like the wrong question to ask at this moment. I don’t like him being angry at me, I don’t know why.I shifted closer to him. “I’m so sorry, I really didn’t mean to make you angry,” I told him, but it felt like he wasn’t even listening to me. I just continued

“Fuck,” I muttered under my breath, running my hands through my hair in frustration.Never in my life have I felt so confused, so careless with myself. Ever since I laid eyes on that small blonde thing, I’ve been losing my mind—one way or another.I can’t sit through any of my important meetings without my thoughts drifting back to her naked body, the way it burned into my mind the other day. She’s got my head completely twisted. I’ve never hated anyone the way I hate her—more than even her father. And now she’s trying to outsmart me, pretending to be innocent, kind. She even lied about her parents. What a fool. What a damn fool. She’s a gold digger, desperate to get to me at all costs. Daniel was damn right about that girl. She’s trying to trap me. Fine. I won’t let her go. I’ll keep her right where I want her… and make her pay for it.I leaned back, tapping the steering wheel as I tried to decide where to drive and spend the night. I had secretly slept in the guest room last night.

ISABELLE’S POV“Ouch!” I cried, lifting my eyes to find my Greek god looming over me, rage blazing in his stare. He looked ready to kill.“Wh-what are you talking about?” I asked, confusion etched across my face.He yanked me up and slammed me into the car. “You dared to put peanut butter in my mother’s food.”“Y-yes,” I stammered. “I heard she loved it.” I struggled against his grip. His hand flew up and locked around my throat. “She’s severely allergic, you whore,” he snarled.Air vanished from my lungs as his hold tightened. I tried to speak, but only silent gasps escaped. Panic clawed through me as darkness crowded my vision. I tapped weakly at his arm, begging him to stop, yet he didn’t loosen his grip at all.Victoria pulled his hand away from my throat, but he pushed me to the ground and walked off without looking back. I lay there catching my breath, holding my sore neck as the pain settled in. Victoria helped me up and led me inside the house.“Let me get you some water,” she

ISABELLE’S POVI finished my bath and slipped into a pair of jeans and a white shirt. I buttoned it up, slid on my sandals, and stood in front of the mirror. My face fell, and I felt out of place.I stepped out of the closet and stood rooted.“Oh my God,” I gasped, clutching my chest with both hands.“I’m so sorry, love,” Adrian’s mother said, gently taking my hands. She stood right outside the closet door, her expression soft and apologetic.“No, Mum,” I said quietly, holding her hand as I guided her toward the bed. “You didn’t do anything wrong. I was just startled… and I thought you’d still be in your room.”“I came to check on you. I don’t think you liked the spicy food yesterday,” she said slowly, her eyes dim, as if it hurt her to see me like that. “I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy it.”“No, no. I loved it, but I guess my body was allergic to something else.” I hated the sadness in her eyes, like she didn’t quite believe me.“Let’s make breakfast together, Mum,” I chirped, and her

Isabelle's POVHis gaze locked on me. He didn’t speak, just let his eyes travel slowly over me, lingering in a way that made my skin prickle. The intensity of it was overwhelming; it felt as though he was memorising every inch of me without lifting a finger. His gaze trailed from my wavy blonde hair spilling over my shoulders, down to my round breasts with my tits visibly hard, to my lower abdomen, and my coochie. For a heartbeat, I wanted to step closer, to feel his hands on me again, the way he’d touched me earlier. But instead, instinct took over. I reached for the duvet on the bed and wrapped it tightly around myself.I didn’t want to hide—not from him. Being near him had always made me feel strangely safe. But the look in his eyes now… it wasn’t something I knew how to read. I’d never stood naked before any man, and the weight of the moment pressed hard against my chest. When I finally met his eyes again, his expression had changed. He looked furious, though whether at me, himsel
