The Kiss

“The national police are looking for you,” he paused as he raised his right arm showing the home phone. “…on the phone. They said it was an emergency,” he added.

His expression clearly says that it was bad news.

He gave me the phone in a flash as soon as I extended my arm, and held out my hand.

I put the phone on my ear as I uttered the word, “Hello.”

“Good day, this is Officer Green from the office of the National Police Department,” the police officer greeted me, “May I speak with Miss Lily Emerson?”

I dismissed Butler Wong using my hand for privacy, and I cleared my throat.

“Speaking,” I replied in a calm tone, “What is this all about?”

“We are deeply sorry for disturbing you in your humble abode, but we must inform you that three prisoners were involved in a dawn jailbreak today,” he explained slowly the incident.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

“And?”

“One of the escapees was identified to be your aunt, Hilda Ambers, ma’am,” he finished off his statement in a serious tone.

“How did she manage to escape?” I slowly locked the glass doors of my balcony with my free hand.

“They were about to be transported to the Golden  Home for the Aged, earlier this morning. That was supposed to be their community service outside the facility grounds for this month,” he grunted, “However, they outsmarted two of our men who are in charge of guarding them, and they managed to escape.”

“You haven’t caught her yet?”

“Yes, we haven’t. Prisoner Hilda Ambers, along with the other two escapees were still on the run.” He exhaled deeply. “We are informing you for your safety is at stake. I am really sorry for the inconvenience, and trouble, but no worries we are doing our best to track them down.”

“That’s alright, thank you for informing me, officer.”

“Please refrain from going out for the meantime, and tighten the security of your house. We apologize again for the inconvenience. Have a good day, Miss Lily.”

“You too, officer. Goodbye.” I hung up the phone and called Butler Wong.

I instructed him to tighten the security and alert everyone all over the manor to be cautious.

I went down to grab a new book from the latest collections in my own manor’s library and turned left to the kitchen to brew my iced coffee since it’s blazing hot today.

I wore sunglasses to match my midriff white top, and black lounge shorts, and went out to relax on one of the lounges at my sun deck patio pool.

I will take a mini-vacation inside my home.

While resting, a silly prank surfaced in my mind.

“Shall we test our little experiment?” I smirked at my thought.

“Doom,” I called his name.

I waited for few minutes, but why he didn’t appear.

“Was he scamming me, earlier? Tsk,” I muttered.

I tried again for the second time. Maybe, the first attempt was not too loud enough for that gorgeous cold prince to hear me.

“Doom,” I called again his name a little louder.

Five minutes have passed, and I’m bored to death.

Damn him, where is he!?

“Doom! Doom!! Doom!!!” I lose my patience, so I shouted his name countless times as if I had gone mad. Then, I burst into laughter with all my craziness and sh*t, later.

I have never had fun for a long time. I almost forgot what it felt like.

“You are a hopeless case.”

I was startled by his sudden appearance, I almost fell off the lounge.

At last, the long-awaited cold prince has appeared, but he scared the hell out of me.

“You scared me. What the hell,” I said as I tapped my chest.

“And you disturbed me again. What is it now this time?” he was leaning sideward on one of the lounges one seat apart from me.

“Nothing, I’m just testing if what you have said earlier was true. I’m just making sure it’s not a scam.” I  squinted my eyes playfully on him.

“I told you, I don’t have time for useless things,” he said as he sat on where he was leaning earlier, “You are really persistent in annoying me.” He huffed as he slid his hands on the side pockets of his black trousers.

He is wearing now a black wool topcoat, a turtle neck paired with corduroy trousers.

He gave me a bored look and crossed his legs. Maybe he is waiting for me to ask for an apology, but I won’t give him that. It was really fun, and I am enjoying every moment with him.

“So did you consider my offer of friendship?” I asked and was trying to show off a cute smile, but instead, it turned out to be an awkward one.

“Maybe I will if you will stop pestering me,” he scoffed.

“So chilly, cold prince,” I playfully replied.

I annoyed him even more as I gave him a teasing smirk.

I was about to say something when his black watch suddenly beeped and blinked red.

“I need to go. Quit your childish games,” he warned me.

“Well, you said you have a choice if you will ignore the force of teleportation or not. So it means you enjoyed my company huh?” My upper lip twitched as I nudged him with my elbow.

He unconsciously leaned forward due to irritation as he caught my arm. At the same time, I was goofing around so I accidentally tripped…

And we both fell to the ground.

My eyes widened with shock and, so were his crimson eyes.

O-our lips…
