The Talk

"Seeing things? What do you mean?"

My forehead creased because he was spouting nonsense.

"Alfred was the one who fetched you, my lady," he replied.

"Fetched where?" I questioned.

"We were a little worried because you did not come home immediately after visiting your parents," he explained, "Alfred checked on you on the cemetery, and he found you passed out on the ground."

"That's absurd! Are you saying that I have lost my mind?" I exasperated.

"I'm sorry. It's not like that please calm down, my lady," he apologized, "Do you want some coffee?"

"No, it's alright." I dismissed him and climbed the stairs towards my room.

What's happening? Was it only a dream?

No, it's real.

He's real.

I opened the sliding glass doors of the balcony and went outside to get some fresh air.

"It's been so long since I have felt so alive. I wish I can see you again, Doom," I whispered with a sigh.

"Seems like your wish was granted."

I tilted my head sideward, and I saw a man in a loose black shirt with a silver cross pendant, crossing his arms while leaning his back against the railings. His tousled jet black hair was being ruffled by the wind.

"You came?" I was surprised to see him in flesh in an instant.

My face heated, realizing what I just had said earlier.

Geez, I sounded so desperate.

Did he hear it?

Stupid, Lily. He even replied that your wish was granted.

I slapped my head multiple times inside my head.

"Looks like it," he responded in a bored tone.

I sensed that he looked kind of not in the mood.

"I'm sorry did I disturb you?" I asked feeling guilty.

"Sort of," he replied coldly, "What do you want from me?"

"I-I just want to be friends with you," I stuttered.

"Child, I am not the type of being that you should be friends with," he said while giving me icy stares, "Make friends with your kind."

He was about to walk out, and teleport, but I abruptly stopped him in motion.

"I don't trust them," I said as I tugged the hem of his shirt.

"And you trust me?" he asked as he looked back on me.

"Yes. You are my savior after all," I replied, "You are the only one I could trust."

"Don't be fooled with your eyes. I did not save you." He warned me. "Your mind must have distorted some memories."

"I remembered it clearly now. Why do you keep denying our encounter a decade ago?" I narrowed my eyes at him. "You keep on distancing yourself from me," I added as I composed myself.

He just shrugged in reply which made me a little annoyed.

"By the way can I ask you some questions?" I asked for his permission.

"As long as it's not personal, it's fine," he replied.

Such a cold being. Tsk tsk.

"How about if it's personal?" I teased him a little.

"I have the right to dismiss your question," he answered boringly.

"Pft. Too plain. You're no fun." I gave him a smirk.

"I don't have time for fun and games, Lily."

"You should loosen up a little," I said as I pat his back lightly which made his body tensed up, "No worries, I won't ask personal questions."

He ran his fingers through his hair, and replied, "Alright, what is it."

"How did you get in here in an instant?" I asked.

"I teleported," he answered.

"I mean how did I summon you to be here?"

"I am not your slave for you to summon me just anytime you want," he spat while glaring his eyes at me.

He was scary for a fleeting moment.

"Take it easy. No one's calling you that," I retorted, "So back to my question, can you tell me what brought you here?" I asked again.

"Why do you want to know?" His brows furrowed.

"I'm just curious." I heaved a sigh.

"When someone calls my name, I can hear it. Then, some light force will lead me to teleport on where that person is," he explained.

"So every time someone calls your name, you will be informed of where that person is?" I asked in confusion.

"Non, only those who remembered my name," he corrected me, "That is my law of nature."

"So there are others who knew your name before me?"

"You are the first," he faintly replied, "And you are kinda annoying."

I rolled my eyes at his statement.

"So this is your first time. I see," I said while nodding.

"Sort of." He snorted.

"How about what happened earlier this morning?" I asked.

"What do you mean 'what happened ?"

"I remembered clearly that you were with me this morning," I narrated, "So why did my butler told me that I was alone, and Alfred was the one who drove me home when he found me unconsciously lying on the ground?"

"I can't reveal my identity, Lily. I distorted their memory, a little."

"What do y—"

"My lady!" Butler Wong knocked on my door which interrupted what I was about to say.

"What is it?" I replied in a louder voice as I turned on my side, and was surprised that Doom was not there anymore. "You may come in." I cleared my throat as Butler Wong opened the door.

I wonder where did he go?

"The national police are looking for you."
