Chapter 2: Nikky and Niccy.

A low yawn escaped Natasha's already chapped lips as she flipped the pancakes in the pan, as she watched the pancakes jump from the pan to the air, and then back into the pan, the sizzling sound filling her ears.

She stretched her arm, it was obvious that she was really tired, but for the sake of her kids, she had to be up and running.

The delicious smell of fresh pancakes lingered around the whole room, it made the twins skip happily to their mother in delight, they both had a warm smile that could melt any ice block.

"Mother, are those pancakes I smell?" Her son, Nikky Excitedly asked, his blue eyes which resembled hers in every aspect twinkled perfectly under the light. He stretched his hands forward, gesturing his hands to his mother.

She squatted to his level and patted his inky brown hair adoringly, "Yes, Nik, It's our favorite." She smiled at him.

Gratitude was clearly shown in his face as he hugged his mother's arm.

That mother and son duo had gone a long way, Nikky as he was fondly called resembled her in all aspects, from the skin color to the eye color and to every trait that she possessed, but the only difference was that he was a little too smart for his age.

While on the other hand, Niccy was not much of a talkative, she was usually quiet and never talked much, instead she observed every detail, and used her logic more. It sounded reasonable, but she was smart.

She took all the features of Alec, including the hair and eye color, even his traits and for some reasons she was scared, she was scared that her daughter would turn out to be like Alec.

So she was trying all her possible ways for her to make it impossible, in every aspect she could.

Niccy squeezed her face in dissatisfaction, she really hated those pancakes, in other words, it sounded disgusting.

"But Mother, I hate those yucky pancakes." She raised her arm in a way of objection, she had really taught them a lot of things in life, and they were grateful.

Natasha chuckled within herself, she squatted down to her daughter's height and said lovingly. "I know Niccy, so I made you such nice cookies. It's fresh out of the oven." She led them to the dining room.

Natasha chortled within herself, she remembered how Alec hated those pancakes himself, he never ate much.

But she pursued him, she made sure he loved her, she pointed down his favorite food and his worst food just to trap his attention.

He later married her but divorced her halfway, so what was the use? Was it called foolishness or just pure love? but one thing for sure was that, now, she didn't love him anymore, and she would try every possible way to run away from him.

She put the food into the plates and placed it on the table, "Eat up now," She smiled warmly at them.

She watched them as they ate, her face squeezed in worry, pure worry, she was worried about one thing.

They never asked for the whereabouts of their father, they never for once did, she had searched the web, read a lot of books and normally kids were supposed to ask their father from age four.

And now her kids were five, never for once had they asked that they were their father.

She was damn scared, what if they ask her? What was she going to tell them?

Nikky observed the worrisome face on his mother and he became sad immediately, he loved his mother more than anything in the world.

He slowly reached to his mother's cheeks and cupped it with love. "Mother. Why the sad face?" He asked her.

Natasha smiled, she reached out for his tiny hand on her cheek, "Dear, mother is fine, why don't you finish with your pancakes, huh?"

He nodded his head and released his hand on her. He knew something was wrong, but he decided to be a little calm. He got back to the attention of his food and soon began munching his delicious pancakes.

The door chimed open, and a man came in, his blue eyes sparking immensely, immediately the twins' eyes shined brightly.

They left the food they were eating and bounced to him, they embraced him and in turn he swung them both up in the air.

They exclaimed. "Uncle Sky!" They smiled and their lips parted apart.

Natasha smiled to herself as she went to him, "Sky? how are you?" She asked him.

Sky was her immediate younger brother, he was still in college studying music, he was the only one who knew of her kids existence.

They were both orphans and thus none of her remaining family thought that she was already dead.

Sky bent a little in a way to calm his muscles, "Sis, I am fine, it's been like two weeks since I was here, what changed?"

He walked to the chair and lazily slumped on the chair, she rolled her eyes dramatically.

Nikky walked up to his favorite and only uncle, he tugged his arm childishly. "Uncle Sky, I missed you, Don't you miss Nikky?" He asked him, fluttering his eyelashes which he inherited from his mother.

"I missed you too," Sky laughed, his dimples coming in place.

Nikky didn't want to give up yet even though he was getting tiresome, his eyes gazed at Sky's hand, but once again, his eyes flashed with disappointment.

He decided to come out clean. "Uncle Sky? You didn't bring anything for us?"

Natasha bursted out in laughter, she knew how cunning and tricky her son was.

"Oh but I did." He brought out the nylon bag that was in his hands and handed it over to him.

His face shined as he grabbed the nylon bag with a smile.

And in minutes he dashed upstairs with the bag in his hand, Niccy also ambled towards him. "Nikky, come back here."

"Kids," Natasha smiled, her brows fluttered into a frown, before she faced her brother. "Why are you here?"

"I have something to show you," He pointed his phone at her face.
