Seeing Maria in that beautiful dress that hugged her curves made me forget how to breathe.

She was magnetic, her presence pulled me. Yes, she was you enough to be my daughter – our relationship was probably inappropriate – but as I watched her descend the steps on the front porch, all that did not matter.

Now, as she sat in the passenger's seat beside me, I swallowed.

She was an angel.

“So, where are we going?”

I smiled, “Don’t worry about it, Sirena. It’s a surprise. Something you’d never expect.” I said, teasing.

She looked at me, tilting her head to the side ever so slightly, “A surprise? Petyr, I’m not big on surprises. What if it’s, like, skydiving or something crazy?”

I laughed now, “No skydiving. I promise it’s better than that,”

I reached for her hands, perfect and delicate, my fingers lacing with hers. We remained that way as I drove through the city in silence.

Maria's eyes widened when we pulled up at the Academy of Music. Her hands tightened around mine a

The past week had been a dream but as I stepped into the premises of Sterling Enterprises on Monday, my stomach twisted. For some reason, police cars were lined on the curb and uniformed officers stood near the entrance while a small cluster of colleagues watched them, whispering. My first thought was Petyr. Had something happened to him? What had gone wrong that warranted this number of policemen being in the premises? As I hurried through the revolving doors, my eyes scanned the place for answers. The tension in the place was palpable and the usual morning chatter was replaced with murmurs and nervous glances.I found Kiara chatting with a group of girls, arms crossed, hair pulled up in a bun.She walked over to me excitedly when she saw me. “Kiara, what the hell is happening?” I asked, grabbing her arm tightly. She looked from me to her arm then back to me. I released it and looked away. “Why are the police here?”“No one knows for sure. The security guy said it went up in flames

After two years – three hours actually – I finally arrived at the Ardolf mansion. My heels clicked on the marble floors as I strutted in like I owned the place. Well, since I had the owner whimpering at my pussy, maybe I did own the place. The mansion was cold, even in daylight.“Hey, Paula,” I said in a sing-song voice as I entered the foyer.Damien's personal assistant was slouched on the chaise with a thin glass pipe between her fingers. “Erica babe,” She said then looked up. “Back from paradise?” My gaze swept over her. She looked even sicker than she did before I left the country. “Yeah. Saint Barth’s was a dream.”She exhaled smoke that drifted towards me. I smiled politely, “Did you bring me a souvenir, or just the scent of salt and sex?”“I brought something better –concern. When’s the last time you saw your daughter?” I asked. I hated how lackadaisical Paula was about that girl.“Yesterday. She's fine,” Paula said casually, as if I had just asked about the weather, “She's w

  • Daddy Please!   Chapter Twenty One - Maria

The house was empty when I got back from work. My parents had left that morning for a two-week trip to the Poconos, a little getaway they’d been planning for months. I didn’t mind at all. I loved the solitude, the chance to breathe without their little quarrels here and there. When I got to my room, I kicked off my heels and padded into the bathroom. I was grateful for the warm water pouring on my skin as I bathed, washing away the day's tension. I dressed for the night – a simple soft silk camisole and matching shorts. I left my hair loose and damp around my shoulders. Downstairs, I decided that after all the work stress, I deserved a proper dinner – salmon, seared with lemon and herbs, and a glass of white wine to match. Perfect. It took about thirty minutes to fix up a plate, which I ate silently at the kitchen counter. Once done, I wiped down the kitchen and moved to my bedroom to watch a movie. I scrolled through the streaming options, finally settling for L

As I worked on my laptop, my eyes kept darting to the bouquet of roses sitting pretty on my desk.Pulling out my phone, I sent a text to Holly, the office keeper, to get a vase for me on her way up. These would stay here. I already had enough at home. The gifts always came with a note, and that was honestly my favourite thing about them. The notes. The beautiful words, written in Calligraphy. The letter P that was always hidden in some part of the paper, which I always had to find.It was something I enjoyed doing anyway.Despite my denials to Kaelia earlier, I knew exactly who was sending those gifts.Peter Sterling. The man across from her office who looked at me as if I was his undoing, like I was the only thing in the world. My boss.My father's best friend. At first I had rejected the gifts. The roses, the rings, the shoes, I had tossed them into the bin without so much as a second thought.I did not want them then. All I wanted was to be away from him or anything that ca

The office was quiet, save for the sound of the air-conditioner humming. I was hunched over, reading a clause in an agreement Pierce Stock has sent to me.My head throbbed from too much thinking, too much staring at tiny words, but I ignored the headache, like I did with most distractions. Just then, a knock sounded on the door, breaking my concentration. “Come in,” I said, irritated at the disturbance but not looking up from my papers either. By this time, it was either Mrs Levaughn or Brandon coming into my office. So I focused on the contract, going over a clause about intellectual property rights, waiting for the familiar click of heels approaching. But I heard nothing. I looked up to find none other than Kiara, standing at the doorway, a tray in her hands. Her sapphire blue dress clung to her curves. My jaw tightened. She was becoming a pest. Pushing for my attention when I obviously was not interested. She was not even a good staff. I had read her report. Nothing impressive,
