Three

Mathew POV.

After finishing unpacking my room, grabbing a quick bite, Zach invited me over to his room, it's the one right next to mine, we even share a bathroom but the two of us. He said he didn't want to share it with some stranger, that's why he gave me it, but I knew he was really excited to have a cousin moving in.

His room was the opposite of mine, it was messy, filled with DVDs, he got a PlayStation set connected to a flat screen in the room. I wasn't very big on video games, but I didn't mind playing with him, I sat down next to him and started a new match. I was losing terribly, that's when the door opened, a guy walked in, he had long black hair, grey eyes, he looked like a giant compared to me, even than dad, but he was beautiful he had the aura or authority.

"Zach I need you to keep an eye on Anna" he says ordering the guy, in his arms was some kind of a bundle, all I could see was a blanked and a tail, this must be Anna.

"Do I have to? Can't mom keep an eye on her, she doesn't even like me" Zach whines like a little kid who have to babysit his baby sister.

"She's ready to sleep, just stay next to her till she sleeps. Make sure she drinks her milk" the guy orders again.

"But..." Zach started to whine again but was cut down with one glare, the guy set the baby kitten on the bed next to me, I think he just noticed me being here. At first his eyes narrowed at me, before he took a deep breath and smiled at me, I was frozen, he's beautiful and scary in the same time.

"Keep an eye on her for me love could you?" he asks me, I just nod my head yes, I never seen a kitten this close and I'm very interested. The guy hand her over her bottle, it was halfway full, she took it back inside her mouth and started drinking both of her eyes were closed. She looked in peace, her ears flat on her face, her tail hardly moving, she used both hands to hold the bottle up.

"She's all set, when she falls asleep change the empty bottle for her paci, I'll pick her up later" the guy says casting one more look at the sleeping Anna and at me, he smiled again and left.

I turned to Zach with big wide eyes, what just happened? Zach upon seeing my confusing, being the shitty friend, that he is, just started laughing, making Anna whine, he just disturbed her sleep. He quieted down while I patted her chest like a little baby until she calmed again drinking the bottle happily.

"Who was that?" I whisper yell.

"That was the family lord James" Zach explains.

"Isn't he supposed to be one badass guy? Like look at him the wrong way and you'd die?" I ask him with wide eyes, the way he was talking to him like he's a friend.

"He is, but not toward the family, just don't piss him off, and he's a great man" Zach explains.

"Ohh...okay" I say blushing, I wasn't planning on pissing him off, maybe fanboying over him a bit, he's one sexy man. But I'll keep it all to myself of course, I never came out as bisexual to mom or anyone else, knowing I'm a vampire, I always knew I'd have a mate, I didn't care if it's a he or she, I was good with whatever as long as I get someone to love.

I looked back down at Anna, taking a deep breath, she smells like chocolate. A sweet scent, like coco, I loved the way she smells, it just got me more enchanted by her smell.

"Hey watch it man, James would kill you if you get too close" Zach says I look at him with wide eyes what?

"You know he's her mate, it's not uncommon for vampires to raise their own mates" Zach explains, I didn't know that, they do.

"We live forever man, if your mate is a baby kitten, the least you'd do is raise her" he says and I nod, yeah it does make sense, especially if she's a kitten shifter. I still felt connected to her, even in her sleep she was beautiful, her tanned skin, long brown locks, her blondish ears and tail. I took the empty bottle out of her hands and placed her paci in her mouth, it was clipped to her clothes, but I couldn't tell what she's wearing exactly with how she's wrapped with a blanket. But what I could see was a teddy bear in her arms, she hugged the bear even closer before going back to sleep sucking on her pacifier.

"She's beautiful" I whisper, I don't think Zach heard what I said but I wasn't interested in the video game anymore, I was just watching her sleep, cooing at her adorableness.
