Tara Blakewood POV

I began moving slowly, letting the first rays of morning sunlight seep into the room, reaching my window and my eyes.

Last night’s events came rushing back to me. I glanced to my side. Kaiden was still asleep. His slumber looked beautiful and tempting at the same time.

For a moment, I felt as if he were my husband. I think it was because of the way his hands had held my waist so snugly, and how I had relaxed around him, allowing myself to slip out. I moved completely away, placing the blanket over him.

My eyes wandered here and there, searching for the kitchen. I didn’t go straight to it, not yet, to make something. I grabbed an apron hanging there and put it on.

I turned to fetch a chair to add height, hoping to reach some ingredients I needed. But I didn’t get far. Kaiden’s body appeared at the top of the stairs, bare-chested, looking at me with a gaze I couldn’t decipher.

“Good morning, Mr. Kaiden.”

I said, trying to lighten the mood, though his gaze burned me.

He walked toward me, his eyes never leaving mine.

“Good morning, Tara.”

He said, scanning me from head to toe.

“What are you doing, little thief?”

He said this, looking down at my feet. I think he meant my slippers.

“I’m making breakfast. Where are the ingredients, Mr. Kaiden?”

I asked, standing before him.

“There.”

He whispered, pointing to a shelf out of my reach.

“Could you give me a little help?”

I asked, pointing to the shelf with my finger.

“Why not.”

He stepped to the shelf and opened it, still staring at its contents, then turned around. I wish he hadn’t. I found myself looking at his back sometimes, sometimes at his hands, unsure which deserved my attention.

“Where did you go, little one?”

“Give me the black pepper and salt, please.”

I said, avoiding his gaze.

I felt him step closer. I turned to see him. He was only inches away. He leaned even closer until I felt his breath on my face. He placed his hands on the kitchen bar edges, trapping my body between them, ensuring I couldn’t escape.

His eyes were relaxed as he looked at me. Slowly, he lowered his head into the hollow of my neck, letting his breath undo all the defenses I had prepared before he came near.

“Your scent… it’s so beautiful.”

He murmured softly, inhaling the aroma on my neck.

He moved his palms along my waist slowly. My heart and body loved it. Instinctively, I placed my hands on his broad wrists. He lifted his head, meeting my eyes, relaxed just like mine. His hands drifted downward slightly.

“Do you know how hard it is to stand in front of you like this, and I want to taste the juice of that strawberry?”

His quiet, husky voice whispered as he stared into my eyes. Our lips were barely a breath apart.

“What strawberry, Mr…”

I barely whispered, but didn’t finish because of him.

“This strawberry.”

He said quickly, and before his lips met mine softly, he moved his forbidden wine over the strawberry on me, slow movements sparking desire throughout my body.

He grabbed both my thighs and lifted me onto the kitchen bar.

He took my lower lip between his, sucking it greedily, creating wet sounds that filled the quiet space.

His sucking sent a sharp ache through my femininity, a pain that made my body scream for him. He moved on to my upper lip, doing the same.

I couldn’t control my muffled moans anymore.

He pinched my thighs, making me open wider, and used that to slide his tongue inside me. He moved it around, searching for my tongue.

He found it, moving his against mine. That motion drove me wild, making me grip his hair harder, moaning deep inside him.

I released his hair, moving my hands to his chest, lightly hitting him. My oxygen was nearly gone.

He broke the kiss, a thread of saliva connecting us, ending my first kiss with him gently.

He pressed his forehead to mine, panting fast. I mirrored him, except my cheeks burned red, and his did not.

“Did you like it?”

I lowered my head, resting my forehead on his chest, understanding what he meant. “This is embarrassing.”

“What’s embarrassing?”

Honestly, his question made sense. I couldn’t even count the embarrassing things happening here.

He never seemed embarrassed, even after kissing me. He looked at my lips as if wanting another taste. I pushed him to move away, but he didn’t.

“Please, Mr. Kaiden, that’s enough.”

I pleaded with my voice and expression, trying to sound like I was about to cry.

“I’m not satisfied.”

I stared at him in disbelief. This man was insane. What more could he want? One kiss isn’t a big deal, but we are both cheating.

“Both of us? Me and you cheating…”

He cut me off, rolling his eyes with boredom.

“It doesn’t matter to anyone as long as we both enjoy it. When you’re with me, don’t think about anyone else.”

“It’s not easy for someone who’s getting married in two months.”

“And what about someone who got married a month ago?”

After I said that, he spoke words that hit me like a lightning strike:

“Married a month ago.”

“A month and a half, to be exact.”

Damn, I wished I could steal a bit of his coldness.

“Like the first day of your honeymoon, it was yours… and you played that day.”

“Do you mean you left your wife asleep on the first day of your honeymoon… and went to play for a girl on the beach?”

“Exactly.”

His short, provoking replies, especially on serious topics, got under my skin.

He grabbed me unexpectedly by my waist, lifting me off the bar.

Tara Blackwood POV"Oh, Kaiden, won’t you help us make the lady my son’s bride?"I understood what he said, and it was clear he was joking. I couldn’t understand why Mr. Ross’s face looked so stern.“That’s impossible, Mr. Ross. This girl belongs to someone else.”He emphasized belongs to someone else. For a moment, I thought he meant Ethan Rowlan, but then I remembered that just mentioning him annoyed Kaiden. The problem was, he made no effort to hide his irritation, both in his tone and on his face.“I’m sorry, miss. I didn’t know that. Your man is lucky anyway.”I blushed at “your man” because I didn’t see Ethan Rowlan as mine—not yet.I was about to respond when his son interrupted, taking my hand and pressing it to his chest. That gesture disgusted me, and he looked into my eyes:“I’m Alexander Ross.”I smiled to hide my tension from his touch.“I’m Tara Blackwood. Pleasure to meet you, Daniel.”He said this while playfully pointing at the poor Marco, who was just joking, and his

I slid into the car without looking at him, trying my best to avoid his gaze.About ten minutes passed, which felt like an hour to me. Silence ruled the space, and I didn’t like it.I lowered my crossed leg to place it beside the other, causing my thighs to become noticeable.“Keep yourself covered, or I might throw you into the back seat and take that softness between my hands until it changes color.”I looked at him, tense and afraid. There was something terrifying about how calmly he said that. I gripped the edges of my coat over my thighs, protecting myself like he instructed.More minutes passed.I got bored staring straight at him, so I stole a glance from the corner of my eye. I noticed his eyes—was it sadness or anger?—focused ahead on the road.“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to pick me up?”I crossed my arms and said it angrily, this time turning my head t

Tara Blackwood POVThe only sound in this room was the high-pitched moan of my head pounding. It took me a full fifteen minutes just to figure out what time it was… twelve o’clock.I’m dead. I didn’t sleep. No work today, which is perfect because I can focus on myself and my beauty.I propped up my upper body, hoping to regain some awareness, but the floor embraced my body, making a scream escape me.This hurts.I grabbed my back like I was a seventy-year-old woman.I rose from the floor with difficulty, dragging my feet toward the kitchen. • Daddy’s Best Friend, My Ruin   You’d Better Suck It

Tara Blackwood POVI was so tired of just sitting there, so I laid my head down on the pillow. I stretched out on the bed, lying on my stomach, keeping the phone in front of me, doing my best not to let my body show on camera.A full minute passed, and we were both locked in each other's gaze.“Tell me, Tara, why are you so determined to end us?”He grabbed my attention by breaking the silence. Ending this relationship and not going back was a decision my mind made, and I know my mind’s decisions are selfish when it comes to me.I was about to speak, but he cut me off.“You know we could stay together instead of breaking up like this.”“Weren’t you the one who started pulling away from me, Mr. Kaiden? Ever since that day at the hospital, I’ve noticed you changing toward me.”I twirled a strand of hair around my finger, staring into his black ocean eyes with my clear blue ones.“I’m sorry, little one, but you’ll know the answer to that question later.”I hummed in understanding. • Daddy’s Best Friend, My Ruin   I Want You, Baby

Tara Blackwood POV"I won’t," I said as I pulled out of contacts and locked my phone. But a light blinked again. Who could it be? I had asked Mira, Ethan, Roilan, and Adam not to contact me.I picked up the phone, staring in disbelief at the caller ID… it was Kaiden Draven.I stared at the phone ringing for a long moment. He hadn’t dialed the wrong number. My finger hovered over the green icon, hesitating, then I swiped to answer."Tara… baby,"How I’d missed that nickname. I was used to it. Used to him being in my life. Two long seconds of silence passed."Talk to me. I’ve been aching for every little detail about you, Almaste," he said in that velvety voice that made my hearing numb.Tears slipped down my cheeks silently. He missed me too. That thought comforted me just a little, knowing I wasn’t the only one suffering here."Did you really miss me?"That was the first thing I thought to say. I asked and heard a heavy sigh, exhausted, coming from the phone."I missed you, baby. Ever

Tara Blackwood POV"Let’s start with the curses you wear every single day."I coughed hard as the smoke he blew hit my face. It burned my throat. His chest pressed against mine, heavy, almost crushing. I kept coughing for a few seconds, then forced myself to look up at him. I knew my eyes were a little red.I was about to speak, but he cut me off."If only you knew how men think when they see your body. You don’t even try to hide your curves."His voice was full of anger. It rose slowly, like a storm building."What I wear is none of your business, Mr. Kaiden Draven. And if anyone looks at me, that’s not your concern, Counselor."I stood still. Calm on the outside."Even my fiancé never tried to control what I wear. So who are you to interfere?""And what if your fiancé is not man enough?"He pulled his chest away from mine, but his hand stayed on my waist. Tight. Controlling. Keeping me from moving."I am a selfish man. And very jealous. Especially when it comes to what is mine."I k
