Isabella’s POV

My knees hit the gravel before I even realized I was falling.

“No!” The scream ripped out of me, raw and ugly, as the police car pulled away with Damien inside. He was smiling…actually smiling…through the window like this was some joke, but I could see the tightness in his eyes. He was doing it for me. To keep me from completely losing it.

But I was already losing it.

“Damien!” I screamed again, lunging forward, but Agnes caught me around the waist and hauled me back. My nails scraped at her arms, trying to break free. “Let me go! They can’t take him! He didn’t do anything!”

“Isabella, stop!” Agnes yelled in my ear, holding me tighter. “You’re gonna hurt yourself!”

Ellie dropped to her knees in front of me, grabbing my face with both hands. Her eyes were red, but she was trying to stay strong. “Bella, breathe. He’s gonna be fine. Damien’s been through worse. He has lawyers, money, connections. They can’t just keep him locked up without evidence.”

“He didn’t kill anyone!

Isabella’s POV“A body. In the river. Wrapped in plastic. In the river not far from his estate. They’re saying it’s her.”The words hung in the air like smoke, choking everyone.“No,” I whispered, my hand slipping from Damien’s. “No, no, no…tell me you’re joking.”Make it make sense! How is that even possible?!Gerald’s face was grim. “They pulled it out an hour ago. Female. Decomposed because it's been in the river, but the family already ID’d personal items…jewelry, clothing. They’re rushing the autopsy.”“How long?” I demanded, voice shaking so hard it hurt. “When did she die? Estimated time of death…when?”Gerald hesitated, glancing at his phone. “My contact in the morgue says they’re still working on it, but the time frame definitely falls into last week. The cause of death isn’t clear yet. Positive ID isn’t official…dental records and DNA will take days. But Osmond’s already claiming the belongings are his wife’s and that Damien is the killer.”My brain latched onto that like a

  • Damien's Willing Captive    The Unexpected Arrest

Damien’s POVWe stood there, watching Marco disappear out of the estate and into a black SUV, while a barrel of questions exploded in my head. Why would Olivia’s father come to pay him a visit in prison? What’s the connection? What am I missing? The funny thing is, Marco doesn’t even know the relationship between Olivia and me. That she’s my best friend and personal assistant. He was already locked up long before she came into the picture. He told me that one Mr. Horace showed up last week, acting all sympathetic. Said he knew Marco’s sentence was unjust. That he’d been wronged and abandoned by me. That I’d been bragging everywhere about how I staged the whole thing and made Marco take the fall. Horace even offered to help if Marco wanted revenge on me.Marco said he was confused as hell. He’s pretty sure he put himself in that mess…no one forced him. So he wondered why this random man was trying to twist the story, trying to make him hate me. He flicked the man off, calling him som

  • Damien's Willing Captive    Old Friend

Damien’s POVMy grip tightened around the phone.“It’s you,” I breathed slowly..He chuckled. Slow. Mocking. “Miss me, brother?”My blood rushed to my ears. “When the fuck did you get out?” I demanded. His answer?A soft, calm voice…almost bored. “Step outside. I’m already here,” then after a brief pause he added, “Boss.”I let the phone fall into the chair and started moving.Jace moved to pull me back, oblivious of what’s going on. “And where the hell do you think you’re running off to? I’m not done talking to you!”I didn’t answer. I just shoved his hand away. My body was already moving before my mind caught up. I grabbed my gun from the drawer stuffed into my back pocket, and headed for the stairs.Jace pushed himself up from the couch. “Where are you going with a gun? Are we in some kind of messed up attack? Should I call the police?”“Why would you need to call the cops for a friendly visit? I’m just downstairs,” I said, already halfway down. “Stay here and maybe…watch some kids

  • Damien's Willing Captive    Men Don’t Cry

Damien’s POVAs soon as the ladies disappeared from our sight, before I even turned back toward the room, the brat…Jace Salvador…lunged at me and punched me square in the jaw.The hit was clean. Hard enough that something metallic filled my mouth. Blood dripped down my lip, warm and irritating.I didn’t flinch. Didn’t back up. Didn’t even touch him.I just wiped the blood off with my thumb and grinned at him.“Nice try, kid. You know why I’m not retaliating?” I growled, voice low as gravel. “Because I plan to lie next to my woman tonight. So if you think you can taunt me into getting physical just so she gets angry at me? You’re fucking joking.”He charged again…because of course he did, the idiot…but this time, I caught his wrist, twisted it behind his back, and pushed him forward until he cried out, tapping furiously at my arm.“You done?” I asked, tightening just a bit.He tapped faster.“Use your damn words,” I added. “Because I want to get laid tonight. Will you behave and not ma

  • Damien's Willing Captive    Healing Together

****The door cracked open and Ellie poked her head in.“Hi…am I interrupting something? Can I come in or is this a strictly no-Voss zone right now?”Isabella sat up. “Ellie! Get in here.”Ellie slipped inside, closing the door softly behind her. She was in ripped jeans and an oversized hoodie, looking about nineteen even though Isabella knew she was twenty-four. She grinned at Agnes. “Hi! You must be the famous best friend. I’m Ellie, Damien’s unfortunate little sister.”Agnes wiped her face quickly and shot up, instantly back to her chaotic self. “Oh my God, hi! You’re so gorgeous,” Agnes swooned.“Thank you. You look amazing too,” she said to Agnes and then turned to Isabella. “What’s going on?”Before Isabella could answer, Agnes beat her to it. “Oh, nothing serious. Isabella was just telling me how your brother has been absolutely railing her brains out for days. Like, Olympic-level pounding.”Isabella squeaked and slapped Agnes’s thigh. “Agnes!”Ellie threw her head back and lau
