Chapter 3: Revenge

She opened the file and was taken aback when she saw his real name and face as it was the person she believed and trusted the most. It was Joseph, her boyfriend, the person she loved the most. However, then she remembered that the person in the photograph is the one who burnt her parents alive.

"I'll make sure that he suffers the pain that my parents suffered 5 years ago." She said and walked out of the office.

She lost her parents at the age of 17. They were burnt alive by their enemies. She killed all of them except for their mastermind. She did a lot of effort to find him but always came to a dead end. Now that she finally got to know who he was, unexpectedly, he turned out to be the love of her life.

She made a plan to capture him and it did work. She called him over to an abandoned building saying she’s really injured. As expected he came over in no time. This sort of thing had happened before as well, he had come to save her when she was really injured after fights. Little did he know it was a trap set up by her to capture him and find out the truth from him.

He walked inside the building and he hit him with a metal rod, he just lost consciousness. He felt a throbbing pain in his head as he woke up. He tried moving but figured that he was unable to.

She captured him in chains and held him at her gunpoint but couldn’t bring herself to shoot him. Her hands were shaking while killing someone for the first time. It happened so because he was someone she loved and trusted a lot.

"What happened?” He asked as he looked at her, straight in the eyes. He wasn’t afraid of her, a cunning smile was on his face which angered her even more. “You did so much effort to capture me, now you are afraid to kill me! You are a coward just like your parents.” He taunted her as he kept smiling. “It was all my plan to make you fall for me, so you could never doubt me and then I would have killed you as well. But you found out before I could do that. Still, see my plan worked, you can't kill me." He said with a cunning smile.

“Why did you do it....?” She asked him as she tried to control her anger.

“I hate you…!” She shouted and she placed her finger on the trigger. 

“There’s just one answer to everything...Mr. K…” He smiled as he knew it was the end for him.

She was angry at her foolishness for having trusted such a person so easily and shot him continuously 5 times. He was dead but she was the one left without answers and a broken heart. It was the first time, after her parent's death, that there were tears in her eyes.

She wiped away her tears and went back to headquarters and acted as if nothing had happened, as if she never loved Joseph cause it was the only way to get out of that grief. Everyone knew that she loved him the most after her parents died. And they were shocked about the fact that how could she be so heartless to kill him with her own hands and not even shed a single tear.

She was hurt but denied admitting her feelings. As a result of the betrayal, she became even more quiet and cold. She started hating the word love. According to her love was just a trade in which you give your heart to another person but in return, you only get pain that breaks you in a way that you're not able to heal again. She was feeling depressed so she decided to go on a mission to divert her mind from him.

She asked Mr. Jin to give her another mission to do. He said that at that time there was only one mission but he didn't want her to do it.

"I don't care what it is, I just need to divert my mind." She said and looked straight into his eyes. He knew that she was hurt and needed a distraction to get over that pain. He sighed and opened the computer to show her what the mission was.

"As you already know, the Prince of Asia is going to be crowned in 4 months and there are people who are trying to kill him to get the throne and the power that it holds. Your mission will be to protect him until the crowning day arrives” He said and then looked at her with a  serious expression. “No mistakes in this one. The royal family can destroy our agency completely. " He told her and waited for her to react as he knew that she hated the rich families.

"No big deal, I'll do it." She sounded determined. It shocked Mr. Jin how easily she said yes to it. He finally gave up trying to stop her as he knew that she wouldn't no matter what he did.

"Fine then, I'll inform them but if you fail this mission it's going to be the last mission of your life." He warned her with a serious expression that didn't even surprise her, instead she rolled her eyes as she was fed up with his continuous warnings.

"What's so special about this Prince?" She asked and started playing with a pen that was kept on the table.

"It's Prince Noah! The upcoming king, he is special!" He emphasized but she didn’t seem to be affected by it at all.

She agreed to do the mission but what she didn't know was that it was going to change her life completely…
