That night, Allison couldn’t sleep. Tossing from one end of her bed to the other, she couldn’t believe the stars had granted her wish of seeing Mr. Gorgeous again—and so soon at that.

The next morning, she woke up brighter than the morning sun.

“Alli, has something happened?” her mother, Rachael, asked.

“Mama, what do you mean?”

“You look so delighted this morning. I couldn’t help but wonder if something happened.”

“Mama, you’ve always taught us to create our own joy and happiness without waiting for someone else to do it for us, and that’s what I’m doing,” Allison explained as they worked together in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

Rachael smiled warmly at her daughter. “How did you grow up so fast?” she asked, making Allison giggle.

Allison had the night shift at the hotel that day, so by 5 p.m., she left for work. A part of her felt sad for not hearing from Mr. Gorgeous all day.

He had promised to call, but until now, nothing. Then again, how would he have her number? she wondered.

Arriving at work, she headed straight to the staff quarters, where she shared a room with her best friend, Clara.

After changing into her uniform, Allison got to work, determined to finish her tasks on time.

“Hey, baby!” a voice called out as she pushed her cleaning cart to the next room.

“Where have you been?” she asked.

“Zach sent me on an errand outside of work,” Clara explained.

“Typical Zach.”

“Yeah. Wait—what’s wrong with your face? You look pale. Did something happen?”

“I’m fine, Clara. It’s nothing to worry about,” Allison said, trying to brush it off.

“But I am worried. Tell me,” Clara demanded, her persistence causing Allison to sigh.

“It’s nothing, I promise.”

Clara nodded reluctantly but wore an unsatisfied look. She knew something was off with Allison.

Later that evening, Allison still hadn’t heard from him. Worry started to creep in. She even sneaked a peek at the hotel’s checklist for the penthouse to see if he was still checked in.

Am I going crazy over a stranger who might have forgotten I exist? she wondered. Relax, Allison, she muttered to herself repeatedly.

Her shift finally ended, and she returned to her quarters. Since Clara had the night shift, Allison was alone in their room.

After a quick shower, she settled into bed with a book when her phone rang, pulling her from the story.

There was no caller ID, but deep down, she prayed it was him.

“Hello?” she answered, her heart racing.

“How was your day?” a voice spoke on the other end, sending shivers down her spine. That voice—she’d recognize it anywhere.

“Um… it was great. Is this Clyde?” she asked hesitantly.

A soft chuckle escaped his lips, making her tremble.

“You recognize my voice? Or should I take it you’ve been expecting my call?”

“Maybe both,” she admitted.

“That sounds sexy. Well, it’s my bad for not calling sooner. I’ve been caught up with work.”

“That’s alright. At least you called,” she said softly.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“Nothing… just reading a book, that’s all.”

“Get dressed in five minutes. Someone will pick you up at the front gate.”

Allison’s heart leaped with excitement. She quickly got dressed, her face glowing with delight. Moments later, she received a text: A black SUV will be waiting.

Scanning the parking lot, she spotted the vehicle. A tall man, casually dressed with a broad smile, stood beside it.

“You must be Allison,” he said. She nodded, and he immediately opened the car door for her.

“Thank you.”

Throughout the ride, Allison kept to herself, her eyes glued to the window.

“I’m Diego, by the way,” the man said, sensing her nervousness.

“I’m Allison. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she replied politely.

“He was right—you are a charmer. Pleased to meet you too,” Diego said with a chuckle.

After a short drive, the car stopped in front of a gigantic skyscraper. Allison stared in awe.

“This way, Allison. We shouldn’t keep him waiting,” Diego said, leading the way. She followed, her eyes darting around as they entered the building and stepped into an elevator.

“We’re here,” Diego announced as the doors opened.

Allison’s heart raced as she stepped onto the marble floor, her eyes taking in the breathtaking decor.

“Hi, Allison,” a familiar voice brought her back to reality.

She turned to see him leaning against a wall, dressed in casual homewear. He held a glass of whiskey in one hand, the other tucked into his joggers’ pocket. He looked effortlessly handsome.

“Clyde…” she breathed, her voice barely audible as she stared at him.

He strolled toward her, stopping just inches away. His warm breath brushed her skin as his fingers grazed her face, making her tremble.

“I’m glad you came,” he whispered, locking eyes with her.

Allison wanted to scream Of course! I wouldn’t miss this for anything! but no words came out. She simply nodded.

“You look beautiful as always,” he said, making her blush.

“Thank you.”

He took her hand and led her to the large dining table.

“Wine?”

“Yes, please.”

“Is this your house?” she asked, glancing around.

“Not exactly mine. A friend lent it to me while I’m in the city.”

“Well, it’s beautiful,” she said, accepting the glass of wine he handed her.

They talked for hours. Allison shared stories about her family and childhood, while Clyde mostly listened, revealing little about himself.

“Do you plan to leave the city soon?” she asked.

“Only when I’ve finished my business here.”

It was past midnight when Allison insisted she needed to return to the hotel. But Clyde refused.

“It’s late, and I won’t risk you going out.”

“So, what do you suggest? I can’t just sleep here.”

His brows furrowed, his dark eyes flashing with displeasure. She shivered under his intense gaze.

“You’re staying here, and that’s final,” he said firmly.

Realizing he had scared her, his expression softened.

“Allison, you’re always welcome to stay here whenever you’d like,” he said gently.

“Alright. I’m sorry if I upset you,” she said.

“It’s fine. Come on—I’ll show you to your room.”

Three days. That’s how long she’s been gone. Disappeared like smoke in the wind. No calls. No texts. No trace.Three excruciating days without Allison, and still, I can't find the words to describe the slow, brutal agony of surviving each one. My lungs feel like they’ve forgotten how to breathe. Sleep? Forget it. I haven’t closed my eyes since the night she vanished. She’s got me on the fucking edge, unraveling me piece by piece. And now I know, with brutal, painful clarity—I can’t function without her. Not as Clyde. Not as the Viper. Not as anything.Every search has led to a dead end. No leads. No footprints. No mercy.Even her mother was no help—her eyes swollen from crying, but her voice flat and clueless. When Diego questioned Clara, there was the faintest shift in her expression. Subtle, but telling. Something about the way her gaze dropped too quickly. The tightness in her throat when she said, “No.”"Are you really sure she didn’t say anything to you? Not even a hint?""No," C

  • Dangerous Love   The devil’s deal

Clyde’s POV The mart stank of blood, gasoline, and fear. A single overhead bulb flickered weakly, casting a yellowish hue over the bruised man kneeling at my feet. One of his eyes was swollen shut—a gift from Diego’s fists—and his cracked lips trembled with desperation.“Where is she?” I asked, my voice a low snarl that slithered through the room like venom. Cold. Controlled. Lethal. The old man’s breath came in short gasps. “Please… I only lent her a phone. That’s all, I swear—God knows I don’t know where she went.”Wrong answer.Without needing to speak, I tilted my chin at Diego. The crack of bone followed. The man crumpled to the ground with a strangled cry, fingers scrambling to clutch my legs like a dying prayer.“Please… spare me,” he whimpered, voice thick with phlegm and regret. “Sir… I beg of you.”I kicked him off with a slow, merciless motion, my boot slamming into his chest. My rage was a living thing now—black, hot, and crawling beneath my skin.Grabbing his collar, I y

  • Dangerous Love   Spirals into chaos

The room echoed with the loud shot, the crack of it splitting the air like a lightning strike. My ears rang for seconds, sharp and shrill, as if the sound itself had buried into my skull.Fear gripped me in a stranglehold. My heart stopped—just stopped—as the moment stilled, suspended in a nightmare. The chandelier above quivered, then came crashing down with a heavy, jarring thud, shards scattering across the floor like glittering knives. When I open my eyes, they meet Saida’s—and what I see there sends a shiver down my spine. Fear. Real, gut-deep fear. For a second, I don’t know if it’s hers or mine. Then his voice slices through the tension like a blade, cold and cruel, dragging us back into the horror. He made the shot. Of course, he did."I swear the next bullet will be piercing through your skull, Saida," he gritted out, voice low and sharp like gravel. His hand didn’t flinch. The gun was still pressed into her head, the metal digging into her skin like a promise."Do not spoi

  • Dangerous Love   Men, they’ll never stop needing more

Allison’s POVThe darkness stretched deeper than I could imagine—thick and suffocating. My weary mind drifted through it, lost in the endless struggle between myself and the world. Between reality and madness. If a person could sit still for this long, tied up and barely breathing, without losing their mind… it would be considered magic. If that kind of shit was even real. But I was still here. Still breathing. Barely. And even in this void of silence and cold, all I could think about—was him.Clyde.The images came uninvited, sharp and vivid. Him with blood on his hands. Him orchestrating a drug empire with that calm, lethal stare. It didn’t have to make sense. The stories weren’t supposed to rhyme. But they did. They rhymed too well. Too perfectly. Like a puzzle I hadn’t meant to solve. Now here I was. Shackled. Nearly naked. Freezing. Bones aching and bruised, skin raw against the stone floor—but none of it compared to the pain burning in my stupid heart. And then—footsteps.Echoes

  • Dangerous Love   Death on my breath

Clyde’s POVThe harshness of the alcohol burned my skin as I rode through the city at speed, darkness wrapping around me like an old friend. That familiar numbness, that rage-filled silence, swallowed me whole. I stared hard at the latest picture on my phone. That same damn number. A new set of photos. This time, she was clad in only her underwear, chained to a bed. She looked smaller than she had this morning. And my cold, cursed heart ached beyond words. “We’ll get her back, Clyde. I promise you.” Diego’s voice rang out inside the car. I was holding the phone so tight it might snap in half. Too late. I was fucking too late. Now I had even bigger problems than before. The warehouse had been three hours out of the city. When we got to the cafeteria they were both gone. Will and my girl. And just when I tried to figure out where the hell they’d gone, my phone beeped again. That same number. That sick, twisted image of my precious lamb. Caught in bondage. And a m

  • Dangerous Love   Your boyfriend is not who he claims to be

Allison’s POV Every part of me burned with worry as I made my way across the street. The cafeteria's light spilled into the dark alley, but it did nothing to lighten my mood. It was a blur—this moment of weakness. Accepting this invitation even when I knew, deep down, that this single meeting could destroy everything. Fortes worth saving. Or not? My eyes landed on him as I strolled into the cafeteria. It’s always been our favorite spot from when we were teenagers, a place etched with too many memories to count. He smiled and waved at me as I approached. But when I got close, I realized—his bruises had darkened. Clyde definitely hit him hard. A sharp pang filled my chest, tight and unforgiving. All this was my fault. "I can't say how proud I am of you for coming." "Get to the fucking point." I snapped. He smirked, but he must have expected that. He shrugged it off like it didn’t sting. His gaze dragged over my body, definitely laughing at my outfit for the
